    Quality video Ryan, appreciate the time and effort especially as a ASM key collector. Just pulled the trigger on my biggest buy yet, an ASM 1 4.5 at $11,500, was bothered after maybe should have waited but feel reassured after seeing that 5.0 sale

    Great idea for a video … I think there are a lot of people like me looking to fill in AF15- ASM 100 or so

    I started back collecting in 2012 I can remember buying Asm #2 raw for $150, asm 361 $15, I always picked up Asm 129 at my comic shop for $150-200. Hulk 181 CGC 6.5 $600 those were the days.

    Hey Ryan, what’s going on this is Bob in Connecticut I was just watching this video. Well, it looks like you cannot go wrong with amazing fantasy 15. Any grade. Amazing Spider-Man 1 is definitely also coming back no doubt about it. Last week amazing Spider-Man 1 6.0 restored with trimming Stan Lee signature sold for I believe $45,000 on eBay. Now that’s what I call prices like you had during Covid.. yes the Spider-Man 1 5.0 sold nicely at Heritage. I love looking at your pre-code horror you have some awesome stuff.. I cannot do that anymore. I told you I’m not in the restaurant business. I would have to sell one of my big boys.. well good luck with everything. I always enjoy your content.

    Appreciate your analysis of the books. Great information that can be used to help make more informed decisions - looking at the census is a big key to the rarity and potential upside in non speculative markets

    On that ASM 238 I would take a closer look at the lower right corner - I think there's some light creasing there.

    You CANNOT tell which direction sales will go in the future with a trend line.

    Oh dear. How many people told me the scandal is limited to one person. “No employees are involved”. Lol…
    They are in it up to their necks, no way I’ll ever send my treasures to them so they can swap out my lovers for utter crap. Anyone who still uses them from this point on needs their heads testing.

      They’re different scams. It’s not the same person. Also yes, I will still use CGC. That is like saying “Toyota had a recall, I’ll never buy a Toyota again”

      sorry to tell you, but as long as cgc grades are worth more than other grading companies, cgc will continue to be used. it may make sense that people lose confidence in cgc theoretically, but everyone continues to use them as third-party judges in comic quality

    • @captaincomicana4231
      @captaincomicana4231 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@gregahunt lol.. it won’t be me that’s sorry. That’s my point, the margins are narrowing. Would not touch a cgc book of any significance in value. Cbcs are a little easier to determine if they are tampered with but provided you know what you’re doing it’s raw, it’s ok, I understand you don’t feel confident in grading or verifying your own books, I do and there’s no way I can do that if it’s slabbed and I no longer trust cgc to do that correctly or safely.

    • @gregahunt
      @gregahunt Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@captaincomicana4231 what margins are narrowing? the margin between cbcs and cgc? i suppose. ungraded, nobody trusts the other party in a deal. sure, we all have faith in ourselves to grade our own comics, but the problem is the other person who’s buying it. a third party is necessary for most deals.

    cgc reholder scam is simply not having an impact on auction prices

    • @richhistory4124
      @richhistory4124 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Of course, in reality almost all CGC books are fine, obviously under $200 books are fine unless over graded. Over $200, always do your homework, look at past sale images, also don't buy books that don't match the grade, that's smart regardless. The scam was targeting certain key books to maximize $$$ so wolverine 181 would still give me great pause, but again if you can find OLD sale images like 6 years old or older and they match then you're probably good. We all need to push CGC to post all the back images of graded books, that would be HUGE. I went through this crap with PSA card scandals like the trimmed cards and fake holders, it's still not great, scammers never stop and that's why the lawsuits help for the future.
