  • Let’s add some additional notes to dial in the basic blues in E. All based on the foundations we’ve been working on for years.
    Use your ears and really look and listen to what’s going on here. As well as what actually is making the sounds and changes you’re hearing.
    Have fun with it!

    Man, your videos are great, I much prefer seeing a real guitar player sitting and playing and talking about the real stuff instead of worrying about a bunch of fancy edits or microphones or whatever. Don’t let the riff-raff get you down or make you think your efforts here aren’t appreciated, most of us watching are just super thankful that guys like you and Uncle Larry take the time to upload these priceless insights, earned by you guys over years of hard work. You’re giving it to us for FREE! To hell with the folks that can’t appreciate that, and feel the need to badger you over meaningless bullbutter. Thank you for doing these 😊

The environment gets rid of forever straws. Caffeine lovers get some sippy nipple action without splash. Just need a tall nipple that can hold the milk. The coffee retailers can make a buck with the premium sippy nipple upgrade. It can be a support your server type deal. The coffee shack will split the profit from the sippy nipple upgrade to the barista crew. We could be on our way to licks n nipples. Enjoy your coffee brother. Thanks for dropping the knowledge.

    This question is to Guthrie OR anyone that can help. A great musician said there are 3 steps to music. 1. Practice, learn what you're playing. 2. Routine. Play what you've learned over and over again. 3. When you perform, turn your brain off and play what you've been working on without thinking. MY question is this, I can do 1 and 2, no problem. However, when I perform and improvise, my branch is going 1000 miles a minute and I want to try all the thinks that I've been working on. How can I turn my brain OFF and play music? Please anyone that can help

      Yo brother. I am no Guthrie, but give these suggestions a shot.
      1) listen...lock in with your band mates. It may sound silly but listening to the others more can help find a path.
      2) when practicing sing or whistle what melody or phrase you want to hear first, then try to mimic it on the guitar...I find that has helped me in performance to not let me fall back on fingering patterns and be more melodically creative on the spot. It takes time, but it is worth it.

      Do some research on what is called the "flow state". Entering a flow state is the IDEAL version of what you are talking about. It is tricky to enter and requires near 100% ideal conditions to enter. On the other hand, you see people like Guthrie who are so well practiced and have such strong muscle memory in their hands and ears that they make it seem effortless. These two things are totally different, but seemingly similar.

    • @danielvelazquez18
      @danielvelazquez18 Před 25 dny

      @@539sharp @Tipisbored 's 2nd tip is how I was able to turn my brain off ONCE in my 5 years of playing. I was using Tom Quayle's SOLO app to sing intervals of the major pentatonic. After a while I was singing and playing the intervals at the same time all on my own for about 10 minutes. Near the end of the 10 minutes I has able to internally hear TWO intervals at the same time and play them on the guitar, all while singing the higher interval at the same time. I quite literally peaked at guitar that day and this happened like 3 years ago. It gave me some insight into what people with really good ears can hear. What is stopping players with really good ears from hearing 3 or 4 or 5 or even 6 intervals at the same time and being able to internalize it all? Short story is, it's quite literally all about the ears and singing helps internalize everything.
