- Hey team, welcome back for another video! I wanted to do a video about how to live in the best Washington D.C. neighborhoods and particularly, living in D.C. for under $1500. I cover 3 of the top neighborhoods (dupont circle, eastern market), costs of studios and one bedroom apartments, features of the area... and more. We are particularly looking at studios and basement apartments in this budget-- so keep note of that! Im so happy for this video. My son just got accepted to Case Western DC campus in Dupont Circle. Never been there. So freaked out.

btw - what are your thoughts on having a car in DC? i’m moving and not sure if i should bring mine (although i’m leaning toward bringing it)
thanks _so_ much for your comment! and for your question: i am pro-having a car in DC... but you should be good at parallel parking and not too anxious a driver. it allows you so much freedom to leave the city and to get places when the metro is down (my line is currently under maintenance) but yea-- my partner HATES driving in dc and like just using the metro... i'm stoked i have my car and will drive myself wherever.
@@rachelanita thank you so much for your comment! i’m from a big southern city and hardly ever need to parallel park so i def need to work on that lol. great point about if your metro line is down too - my job will be in VA so it will be great to have a back up w my car. the only thing I’m really worried about is finding parking in the city lol. anyway, thank u again and can’t wait to finish watching once im off work 💕

Hi Rachel. I'm a native of Washington DC, the outdoor Eastern Market operates every weekend Saturday and Sunday. I agree with your video of Washington DC apartments are expensive unless you find a specials on apartments. The Eastern Market area/Capitol Hill (Ward 6) is a very nice neighborhood. DuPont Circle Neighborhood in Northwest DC is more offices, restaurants, historical landmarks, some stores

Thank you so much for sharing this information, I was looking for a studio for myself in Dupont Circle for weeks. The only concern for me is the noise from traffic and party people, do you think it is a serious problem?
I feel like there will be noise in most areas... but that's hard to figure out before you rent :/ I wouldn't be too worried about party people because most places in Dupont aren't near big party bars, etc. And because of the cost, i doubt there are many young people who may be partying. I don't think either of those are serious problems unless you're super sensitive to noise-- I would say getting to live in Dupont Circle is worth most of the downsides!
Don't waste your time with Dupont Circle. It's not just the noise from traffic and nightlife a lot of crime and drugs are a problem.
