Understanding Critical Infrastructure Risk Assessment

This class is an introduction to analytical techniques that assess the vulnerability of various types of critical public and private infrastructure. One of the key tasks in homeland security and emergency management is identifying vulnerable infrastructure, private and public, and the impact that disasters of all types will have on people and services. Students will learn to prioritize infrastructure as well as balance the probability of threat with the consequences of disaster through various established methods, teaching students to conduct a vulnerability analysis of a specific target, city, or region.
