Anyone here just for the bassline? Mark O'Toole is a monster.
More space for the bass!🎸
100% agree mate!!!
INDEED, this guy is prime
I could listen to the bassline alone all day 🤘
It's the tone as well. First thing I noticed. Looks like a Precision through a Trace Elliot. It's the sort of tone that makes you wonder why you'd ever use anything else but a Precision. Sadly mine doesn't sound like this but my 70s one came close.
That baseline is pure fire.
Underrated masterpiece of the 80's is the whole album...
YEP!
Underrated? Bullshit!
Not the whole album. It was a double lp crying out to be an ep.
@@paulwebb8018 You're a tasteless dude...
@@klipkultur3680 you are right, how stupid of me
One of the 10 best Album of the 80/90s.Still in 2024😍
Absolutely agree !! A stunning album start to finale ! Much underrated sadly.
@@elCaxi1971 this one lives here
The tone of that bass is incredible.
lovin it
izzit a Rick?
@@thefabor I think its a precision.
That bass, oh my days ❤
you beat me to it!
He was so underrated…
It‘s amazing that that song can be played live with that level of quality. One of the best album productions ever. Not to mention the 12 inch versions…
spot on!!!!
Well I must admit that in my wildest dreams I cannot imagine Steve Howe sitting in with Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
I know...I was like, "Whaaaaaaaa??"
He's credited with the acoustic guitars on that first FGTH album.
@@cletusbeauregard1972 seriously? I mean I don't have the album, but that just seems so strange. Like how did Steve Howe meet up with Frankie Goes To Hollywood?
@@anthonyglaser929 FGTH producer Trevor Horn replaced Jon Anderson in Yes for one album and tour.
@@cletusbeauregard1972 And they toured together during the Drama album days in 1980. Saw them at NYC's MSG. Trevor struggled a bit with some of the high notes on the classic YES songs, but all in all, it was a great, memorable show. Especially since Steve played Les Paul during most of the show if my memory is correct. He later said it was an unsatisfying guitar for the tour.
Ryan Molloy killed this. He did an amazing job. Actually, all the musicians involved were stellar.
The production on this album is pure genius. Take a bow Trevor Horn.
And Steven Lipson.
I'm getting strong Jeiwsh vibes here....
always got a shiver from that sub-bass stuff in this song
@@JamesSmith-qs4hx Nah - music is my religion. Stephen Lipson’s engineering and guitar playing with J. J. Jeczalik’s Fairlight and synth programming were a huge part of Trevor’s success in this era.
There’s a good interview with Stephen on the Produce Like a Pro channel on CZcams where he goes through the stems for Relax and shows how the track was made.
@@172Break Their kid shot his Jeiwsh mother....
You gotta love Paul Rutherford's unabashed enthusiasm and brilliant dance moves. Great performance all around. Bravo guys!
Linda música e os vocalista são benção Ryan tem uma linda voz
FGTH should've produced at least 12 to 15 albums by now. Their music is awesome and timeless. Forever grateful to Frankie. ❤
The whole set they played was awesome, and Molloy did a fabulous job, his vocals were the cherry on top
Yeah, Ryan's vocals, energy, and "stage presence" were so good for this _Frankie Goes To Hollywood_ part of the Prince's Trust concert!
Steve Howe! In the pleasure dome!! I'm still boggled! Thanks, Trevor!
My favourite Frankie song of all.
Can’t stop watching/listening to this. They were all stunning but Mark and Ryan…..OMG!
What a group of professionals on stage. Absolutely incredible performance 💯
Ryan 🔥Molloy 🔥TOOK 🔥THIS 🔥SONG 🔥TO 🔥A 🔥WHOLE 🔥OTHER 🔥LEVEL ☘
He fine too!! 🔥
Ryan Molloy absolutely killed this set, well done! 👍🏼 especially since he only had a couple of weeks to learn all the songs when Holly Johnson sadly pulled out 😢 Salute to the whole band for pulling off an amazing set with such professionalism and brilliance in what is nearly a 20 year old concert. Mark O’Toole, your base guitar gives me shivers and goosebumps!
I believe he was the last to audition and already knew the tracks. I actually think he's better than Holly.
@@richardcamp8301yeah and Adam Lambert is better than Freddie Mercury 😂😂😂
@@colinmitchell6872 with due respect, Holly never was a great live performer and never had such a fantastic performance, and FGTH never sounded good in the 80s as did that night. Fact.
@@Gavrani77There's numerous videos of Holly Johnson performing live that proves you wrong.
Ryan Molloy was FANTASTIC 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The God like Genius that is …. Trevor Horn 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Phenomenal bass line!!! The song has crazy energy! I love you
one of the most devastating albums of the '80s !!!! master piece and amazing live performance
honnor to William Johnson and of course Master Trevor horn
spectacular bass, excellent production, respect Trevor Horn 👏
Amazing performance. Love Ryan’s beautiful voice and lack of attitude. Mark is a phenomenal bass player and Paul a dancer. The ballet intro was icing on the cake.
First “HOO-HA!”……goosebumps. 🇨🇦👍🎶
Their 12"-Game in the 80´s was unbeatable...Pleasuredome still one of my favourite Albums from that decade
Superb performance of one of the absolute best compositions of the New Wave/'80s' era!
I have just acquired an original copy of Welcome to the Pleasuredome on CD and its absolutely floored me. What a great album, makes me realise how even though I have heard FGTH songs on the radio I have never actually listened to them properly. It's great to be discovering all this great music from the ZTT archive. Plus Trevor is a top bloke with a great sense of humour, between him and Stephen Lipson it's no wonder they were behind so many great songs.
Is Happy Hi on it or is it the original tracklist edition?
Standing Ovation is more than appropriate here. WOW. Mark O'Tool , man you are the man
YES!!! It’s Steve Howe babey! I miss Holly but Molloy knock this out of the park!! OMG! Molloy’s image totally took FGTH to a brand new vibe!
This bass playing is fkn sick ❤ anyone else can’t sit still when this is playing?🎉😅
there is some proper talent on that stage.....steve howe for one....legend...thats a stage of talented musicians x
That was an impressive piece of music.
Brilliant. I still got the album, and was hugely inspired by this band. And I was a rock metal kid from the 70s.
This is an amazing live performance.
The production on this was AMAZING. I was 10 years old when this album came out. it set my standards high for life
Today is 8th April 2024. Happy birthday, Mr.Steve Howe. (from Japan)
One of the greatest examples of prog rock production ever, hiding in plain sight on Frankie's debut album, the hottest pop band at that time. Absolute genius, and I love you Trevor for this.
Sounds so powerful, deep and sexy still now! One of the best album of the eighties!
Years back when this released love this live version , the thumping bass sounds fantastic ,
Huge pity that nothing really came of this line-up. I love Holly, but man alive Ryan Molloy just nailed this. It's great to some decent footage of this again. 10/10.
I can't believe the album will be 40 this year. Bought it on CD right when when it was released.
I can't either, 40 years! I still have the vinyl double album, well it's actually my sister's...but she's never getting it back!
Correct me if I'm wrong but CD's didn't exist commercially when this album was released as far as I know. I was there in line to buy the vinal and get it signed by the boys when it came out after the smash of Relax and War. And I bought what was one of the first commercial CDs of some classical music and then the amazing Brothers In Arms a few years later.
@@thetempleofsound of course they did exist, started around 1 year before this release, I bought it almost at the same time when Propaganda's LP/CD was released, among my first ones, indeed
I have the first lp and cd-version
@@MrCrrispy Yes I stand corrected, I guess I was too young to realize it. The CDs I was thinking were first were the first DDD made for CD digital recordings...
Fabulous music, fantastic video, thanks, good time for you
What a fantastic song, amazing voice and music!!! Miss their music...
steve howe's steel guitar is wooo 👍👍👍
Super performance - great musicians - a masterpiece - simply top
You bring on one of the 5 greatest guitar players in rock history, have him sit in the back for almost 10 minutes for just a few lines of slide guitar??!! WTF???! I'm docking this video a whole point for this! It still gets an extra one for that amazing bass, so -10/10.
at the same concert czcams.com/video/BqytFvrtrT4/video.htmlsi=9NNHk-bdtVqdZGf2
Thats the part he played in the recording. Trevor grabbed Steve as he was passing in the corridor of the studio.
@@afitzsimons He played on the original? Seriously, that man has done EVERYTHING!! Still, only #123 on Rolling Stone's definitely definitive and unimpeachable list of 250 greatest guitar players of all time, so I guess he's not all that great...
@@yatz57 Rolling Stone know nothing!
Blown away
Best Produced like in the 80's
Paul and Ryan sound so good together. And the Band Rocks.❤
Fantastic !!!!!!!
Just brilliant ❤
The camerawork and editing for this is as blistering as the performance. Stunning.
One of the all time great albums, really wish it got more airplay today.
100% agree !! Fantastic album.
3 fab tracks on an album full of filler.... Dreadful album.
#1 VERSION IN THE UNIVERSE!! No one comes close TO THIS VERSION!! A true Bucket List item for those who attended

It's got some hoo-hah intensity but doesn't have the tooled perfection of their studio recording.
@@skierpagesubjective.. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
@@skierpage It's a valuable record of a live FGTH performance. That's the main thing.
So many amazingly talented musicians all together at same place... it´s a combustion of power. Welcome pleasuredome
Those ladies sound amazing!
Awesome, what a treat, thanks so much for posting.
Actually it's all utterly brilliant.
Absolutely love it ❤️
My god, I love this band and this effing song so much!! How is anyone standing still in that crowd?? When I listen to this album in my car now, there is no "maximum volume."
Bei diesem Video stimmt alles . Perfekt.❤❤❤Da ist man mit Gefühl und Geist voll dabei .
Perfectly performed. And that bass line is awesome, pure energy!
Wow what a set of pipes love it ❤️
The Energy of the 80‘s in one Song! A Masterpiece ❤
bass amazing !!
its about time the band showed how good they are ...and they really are very good as you can hear ...x
Very rare indeed where an incoming "new" member matches the original - but Steve Howe absolutely nails this, and easily qualifies as Holly Mark Two (or maybe even Mark One....)' he's that good! Brilliant stuff
It's Ryan Molloy on vocals?!
Steve Howe ladies and gentlemen, Steve Howe..
Ryan Molloy ladies and gentlemen...Ryan Molloy 🎤🎙️
Ryan Molloy is out of this world here. Best voice, best performance and sexy as hell. Whole band stellar performance. Would like to see this live !
Maybe if you're gay...🤣🤣🤣
Wow !!!!!!
Such outstanding muscians and a stellar performance
Awesome live performance
At last, wondered when this would be published, regularly watch the original video, so damn good 👍
The bass leads the way 🙌
Stunning performance!
Move aside ladies and Gentlemen, there is a Genius in the building...
I'm Tony from Italy. This Is One of the best Song ever
What a great performance
Absolutely brilliant!
Спасибо всем вам за этот заряд энергии . Как будто вернулся в молодость ❤🎉
Hell of a bass line here - Chris Squire must be glad in his heaven.
Agreed!
What an incredible performance, bravo to all and of course Trevor was all over this production, I loved the "Chic" style ladies' vocal section towards the end, and that bass line was awesome....
Thaaank yooou!
Fookin' bass.
This is brilliant AF 🤘! A LOT of musicians on the stage to perform this live, but what a result! Of course that killer bass line - but also that the guitar attack at 1:54 that sets the scene, and the women at 8:34! This is why I like youtube.
That first Hoo-Ha too! This bassline inspired me to play bass at 16. LEGENDARY!
Incredible…. A feast to the senses. Thank you for sharing 🤩
Still got all the Vinyls. Specialized the 12 inches 💞
I woz there!
Snap
I am officially very jealous !
this is like top level
Ich seh/höre es immer wieder. Geil!! REP Pete.
Wow, this makes me want to reconnect my turntable and dig out the vinyl (yes I’m that old). So unappreciated here in the southern US
Fl/ga border small town 80s goth with a suntan. South Park nailed it. 3 of us. Had to hear skynard 100 times a day. Mom was a music major I played oboe. Sorry to dis jacksonville boys but overexposure will do that
Just gotta love that bass sound. Brilliant
My favourite side of an album ever and it's up against some serious competition. Amazing stuff, wish I'd been there.
Fookin incredible!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I don’t know why the audience is so dead? 🙁Brilliant!!!
FGTH changed my life and this live version of Welcome is simply astonishing, it sounds as crystal clear as the original album version. Fun fact: Trevor Horn knows Steve Howe from their days in Yes. Check out Owner of a lonely Heart off 90210.
What an extraordinary and evocative performance of a song from a time when the world was wrapped in boundless creativity and promise. And that slide guitar! 👌
This is just phenominal!
Que genio STEVE HOWE❤
