Jude Servina me too my friend. My mum broke her toe playing football with me n my brother for 1st & only time that night. I stayed in a high rise block with a square playing area outside our living room n kitchen. I can still here the Bogside volunteers belting out from our front windows 5 flights up while we played in almost darkness! Think that’s the only bone my mum ever broke and in her own words was “more than worth it”! That coming from a mother who adopted Celtic & Scotland as who she aligned with and where she decided to stay. My mum came from Mansfield Nottinghamshire with no football interest other than George Best and none other than Dalglish. My dad didn’t find it hard to sell Celtic to my mum lol. And this is my most cherished football memory that I shared with her. Anyway true story. Haha 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
You probably dont give a damn but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Aye, I've got similar feeling about ma Grandad, he too was a Jambo and is also sadly not with us anymore. I don't think I'd ever saw him more disconsolated over anything. While it was personally one of the greatest days in my life as a Celtic supporter, I kind of look back and think how much more it meant to Hearts and their fans and in retrospect one less title wouldn't make much difference to us, you just knew we'd have another day, but for Hearts it meant everything.
Great day I was at game with my brother and big Hughie McKinney I was meant to go night shift on the railway tracks that night but went to the Royal Oak in nitshill to party all night with the rest pollok willowford celtic supporters what a memory ☘️☘️☘️☘️
what great memories, i was there, great kit, great goals and the biggest unexpected ending to a season ever. no one expected hearts to lose, the most unlikely of titles was won as celtic were nowhere 8 games earlier, we needed to win our final 8 games, seeing as we had only won 12 out of our previous 28 it seemed well beyond us, but we done it.
What a day! Standing beside a guy who was listening to a radio. There was a commotion in front of us, some thought Dundee had scored. He looked at me and said "it's only a corner" then went mental. What a feeling.
It was quite common for fans to bring a transistor radio to the match - especially for a league decider. I was there that day. I had no right to think Celtic could do it but that morning.....I just had a wee sneaking feeling that we'd win the league. I have a tinge of sadness now about my delight. My father, now dead, was a Hearts fan.
I was at this game and i dont think i will ever forget the experience.I remember waking up that day not knowing wether to bother with going to Love St as all Hearts had to do was draw but Celtic had to score a few goals. The tickets had already been bought and off we went to the game.I remember the amount of Celtic fans in the ground had spilled on to the trackside at the Celtic end,ah those were the days u could squeeze more in that allowed lol. Championeeeeeeeeees!
The night before l seriously thought about going but l just could not see that both unexpected results would happen ,maybe 1 result going celtics way but not two . Really did not want the disapointment of failing on the last Day. Its been a lifetime regret. Two points though st mirren had a right good team then for st mirren to lose 5-0 was really unexpected. Second point .kidds second goal was world class yet hardly gets a mention.
what a day, i was there. some great goals that day, 3rd and 4rth especially. i never thought hearts would lose and that the season we would end up empty handed. was a difficult inconsistant season but we won the last 8 games and took the title.
I was 9yrs old, met Billy Connelly on the way to the game with my dad, even remember the referee's name ( Waddell ) , ended up on the pitch at the end with my old man.....the only other game that was as good as this was the Baca with when Tony Watt scored. ..COYBIG
md20120 I was the same age and I was there with my dad and we seen billy before the game just noticed the hair bouncing as he walked 🍀🍀🍀 Brilliant memories
3rd and 4th goals of the season contenders in any league!! magical day.. possibly my fav day ever as a celtic supporter..probably because it was so unlikely at the start of the day!
I was playing an away game in Possil that day on the way back on a bus full of Orcs me and two others had a rather jovial time ramming it right up them hehe
was at that game with the Phil Cole CSC.one of the best games ever and the third goal is class. cud do with some of that teams never give up attitude now.we were watching legends back then and didnt realise it.
Amazing day, Amazing team, if only the glory hunters that follow our team now could appreciate a day like that, but a guess they would not have been there. TGFITW. Ha Ha. God Bless Celtic.
A no mate. Was an amazing day, I mind the last thing we heard as ma Da parked the car was Gerry McNee saying we couldnae do it. As Dundee got their 2nd, The Maestro was right in front of me to take a shy and a shouts.... "Paul its 2-0!" AMAZING!!!!!
isn't this the famous "love street" jersey I've heard about from Celtic fans? If so what a beauty. As an Irish lad I've always had an affinity for celtic and one of my prize possessions as a boy was the 1888 centenary jersey although Man United always have been my true love. I can also clearly see why SAF made "chocy" McClair one of his first signings
Theres a classic photo of Aitken drinking from a champagne bottle held by McGrain, turns out it was the only one they had, ,meant to to drown their sorrows after the game.!
Made a couple of GIFS from 2 of the goals here (had to cut Danny McGrain's wee overhead kick out at the start of that great team goal as longer than the 15 second maximum)
Great performance, great result, great ending and a great day all round. What's more, the attendance was over 150,000. At least, that's what it must have been, judging by the number of people who've said they were there! ;)
@GorbalsRebel Ur so spot on mate. Top 3 in my lifetime with Larsson's lob against the Rotten Mob 6-2 and Johnny Doyle's header against Real Madrid. Danny Mac was the man. Roberto Carlos couldn't lace his boots.
@GorbalsRebel i was there that day and can you inagine the media reaction today if the current barcelona team scored that goal - i always love jim stewarts face as he catches the ball and the celtic end goes crazy
I'm an Englishman living in Russia 🇷🇺 This was the first Saints match I saw.Supported them ever since. Don't believe Ukraine Nazis lies.Russia is Orthodox but as Christian as true Celtic Catholics are.
isn't it strange that despite the score at dundee back then that celtic mysteriously scored enough goals to win the league based on hearts losing 1 - 0 (even though they lost 2 -0 in the end).
jambodave,3-0 would have done that day if youse had been beaten only 1-0. Note the celebrations for the third goal compared to the fifth. Are we not the ones that are supposed to be paranoid?. :)

I not trying to sound bitter cos there were a few games where we did drop points and should have done better - just that the result went exactly their way at the exact time required. Even CSI Gorgie couldn't work that one out.
What's that even supposed to mean? We were already 5-0 up by the time you scored! We set out to win by the required 3 goals, which we did, and hope that you screwed it up, which you did. Your result was nothing to do with us.
@@gavinreid8937 must have been about 100 radios in the ground, most of us were huddled round the nearest radio for the last 30 minutes. dont think anyone watched the game in the last half hour. was bedlam when news came through dundee had scored, even more mental when they got the 2nd.
@niceguyJamboJim haha it's nothing to do with st mirren, you're team blew it ! it was in your hands and you threw it away. how you can blame that on another team is laughable.
The spirit of 1986. Never give up. 🍀👍
McGrain involved at the start, and the end of the move that led to the third goal. Danny was truly world class 💚🤍🧡💚🤍🧡💚🤍🧡
Best Celtic away kit ever.. The memories of that day will live with me forever 🍀

3rd goal "one of the goals of the season".
One of the goals of all time!!
And the 4th wasn't too bad either.
Aye, I've got similar feeling about ma Grandad, he too was a Jambo and is also sadly not with us anymore. I don't think I'd ever saw him more disconsolated over anything. Our 3rd is still one of the best goals scored on any football pitch period
The third goal was a thing of beauty .

Albert Kidd CSC
Not a Celtic fan but the 3rd goal was just superb.

A forklift couldn't have moved the carry out we bought that night. I was the only one that made my work on the Monday. Memories.🍀.
An insane day.

Third goal was sheer class
That reaction when news of Kidds 2nd goal was poetic, still gives me goosebumps 🍀🍀🍀
I think that was the first goal?
First goal I believe.
Never seen the reaction to the second. Would love to see it
was at that game with the Phil Cole CSC.one of the best games ever and the third goal is class. cud do with some of that teams never give up attitude now.we were watching legends back then and didnt realise it.
Phil from Coatbridge?
3rd goal has got to be the greatest celtic goal of all time or one of the greatest
Happy Albert Kidd Day
GBAK
Spirit of Albert Kidd. Here's hoping it is in Dundee tomorrow again
3rd goal is probably the best goal ever!!!!!!
if Danny McGrain was playing now, how much would he be worth????
Was there the roar when dundee scored was unreal happy days
"Its lift off here at Love street" ... TOTAL football by the way.
Love this video x
Amazing day, Amazing team, if only the glory hunters that follow our team now could appreciate a day like that, but a guess they would not have been there.

Fifa Bhoy your team Falkirk .. but you call yourself Bhoy ??

Made a couple of GIFS from 2 of the goals here (had to cut Danny McGrain's wee overhead kick out at the start of that great team goal as longer than the 15 second maximum)
It will always b sir albert Kidd and scott judas McDonald
what a final day of the season
Great performance, great result, great ending and a great day all round.
What's more, the attendance was over 150,000.
At least, that's what it must have been, judging by the number of people who've said they were there! ;)
I wasn't there Gerry, was rather busy, but glad to have contributed to the day.
You can tell the colours of St Mirren fans from that video?
Celtic fans were all over Love St that day.
Wish I was there
@GorbalsRebel Ur so spot on mate. Top 3 in my lifetime with Larsson's lob against the Rotten Mob 6-2 and Johnny Doyle's header against Real Madrid. Danny Mac was the man. Roberto Carlos couldn't lace his boots.
Johnny Doyle aye.....It's my attic.........
Wot a day heavy celebrations in Paisley Hail Hail🇮🇪🇮🇪
@GorbalsRebel i was there that day and can you inagine the media reaction today if the current barcelona team scored that goal - i always love jim stewarts face as he catches the ball and the celtic end goes crazy
Guys... look at the build up for 3rd goal ffs is super duper 🍀
Happy Albert Kidd Day everybody : )
Thank you. And to you too.
Aye, that's pretty much how I feel about it, Martin.
I'm an Englishman living in Russia 🇷🇺 This was the first Saints match I saw.Supported them ever since. Don't believe Ukraine Nazis lies.Russia is Orthodox but as Christian as true Celtic Catholics are.
@GorbalsRebel The 3rd goal is sheer class
Smart away kit
Would love a similar scenario to this to happen this season and see Romanov going mental in the stands when Hearts fuck it up again
@Yahya76 hah, this was in the days when we still liked him lol!
great day. missed the first goal quein' tae get in and then fell on my arse runnin on tae the pitch at the final whistle and had white jeans on.
i wish hearts had won that year
Well they didnt and lost cup final the following saturday hearts fans can sing the west ham song were forever blowing doubles
Celtic celtic!!!
St Mirren didn't turn up,even their boss at the time thought so.
isn't it strange that despite the score at dundee back then that celtic mysteriously scored enough goals to win the league based on hearts losing 1 - 0 (even though they lost 2 -0 in the end).
They didn't need to win by such a big margin. 3-0 to Celtic and 1-0 to Dundee would have seen Celtic win the title.
Lift off at Love St.
Just assumed that they'd only be in the away end. Either way, result!
@jambodave72 I don't think it would've been too difficult for Celtic to put 5 past St Mirren that season if they really needed to.
Shame Hearts didn't win that title. Celtic have won so many titles before and since, and nobody outside of Celtic or Rangers have won it since.
jambodave,3-0 would have done that day if youse had been beaten only 1-0.
Note the celebrations for the third goal compared to the fifth.
Are we not the ones that are supposed to be paranoid?. :)

@jambodave72 You do know that the St Mirren keeper that day used to play for Rangers don't you? Fact is your side shat it.
were the st mirren fans happy with that result? Seen loads cheering
They probably hate hearts as well there not a nice club hearts
How did they all find out about Dundee scoring?
Pre mobile phone internet ,someone was bound to have a transistor radio on them.

@niceguyJamboJim haha it's nothing to do with st mirren, you're team blew it ! it was in your hands and you threw it away. how you can blame that on another team is laughable.
St mirren could have tried at least.
Celtic wud have done that to anybody that day they were outstanding
nice to see hearts fans being called huns coz theyre bitter orange ....just proves its a sectarian slur ! Glasgow Rangers Champions ..!
Third goal was sheer class
