I was there...Nottingham Wollaton Park, Distortion festival 2002. Green Day headlined and Iggy Pop was surprisingly good! Great festival. Feels like a lifetime ago!
@@MattLindley1 I remember there was a funfair with a few rides at the festival as well am I right? Its nearly 20 years ago which is crazy! Great times in those days.
My good pal pops up in this twice, once at 1:15, next to "mini Elvis" and then 1:54, sticking out his tongue while in the moshpit!! Legendary and you will struggle to find a more dedicated WH fan than him!!
Blimey, just found this, I was at the gig where they recorded this video, Wollaton Park Nottingham in 2002! What a line up, Green Day, Iggy Pop, The Wildhearts, Hundred Reasons, Levellers, 'A', Idlewild, Capdown, Face To Face, Raging Speedhorn, (spunge), Rival Schools and Snuff. Fuck, that's gonna be 20 years in July... I feel so old.
Yeah I was there too, what an awesome line up, basically a punk festival it was! Things I remember:- The long queue to get in, it rained on and off all day, the fairground rides, Green Day and Iggy Pop were both amazing live acts, the other bands I all thought were great too but my memories of them are a bit patchy because this was 20 years ago! Great times, feel nostalgic now...
Big big band! Seen them plenty of times now (luckily) and have always found them to be tight, fun, loud and on top form. Ginger makes for the perfect front man - he always has time to chat to the crowd and have a laugh.
I was at this gig. Wollaton Hall, Nottingham. I also watched Iggy Pop, The Levellers, Spunge and Green Day. I want to say that Snuff were also on the line up. I've got an amazing photo of Ginger that I took back stage which I've still got somewhere in a box.
I was there too, it was an awesome festival, great bands and performances. I have a random memory of the singer from the band A: he was zip wiring across the stage if I remember?
@@Marathon97 awesome!! I saw them in charlotte nc. I think that ended up being the first show due to Pittsburgh getting cancelled. I'd never heard of them before that show but they were definitely good enough to be the main act.
This song is fucking awesome! For those that care Devin Townsend (former member of The Wildhearts) was inspired by his time with the band and made a similar sounding song called Resolve! from his band The Devin Townsend Project. Cheers!
Ace band. I got their logo tattooed on my arm when I was 17 and when I went to their gigs and saw so many others with them it was like a secret society away from the real world where I had to tell people what it was.
RedJoe10 I've had the Devin Townsend Logo tattooed onto my leg for almost six years and only one person has recognised it and known what it was. That was before DT was still relatively unknown. Now you have all of these self-professed "super fans" who've been following him for like two years. I've been to DTP shows where I've overheard fans talking as if they're followed him for years but actually know fuck all about him. It's always fun to mention the Punky Bruster album and watch their expression go blank. Fucking posers....
Filmed at The Distortion Festival Nottingham i think .....Headliners were GREEN DAY... Support from .Iggy pop ...the levellers..Spunge...Idlewild ....The Wildhearts ...A"....Hundred Reasons....
I was at this too and it was a great day. A friend told us he had back stage passes then failed to turn up. So we already sold our tickets and couldn't get in until we told our demise to a security guard who kindly sorted us with VIP tickets for free. So I got an upgraded ticket and made some money!
Iggy Pop smashing the security guard in the face with his mic stand after they wouldn't let the crowd on stage had to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen .
I couldn't remember this song the other day when I wanted to listen I got real mad. I remember them playing it on the kerrang TV channel when it was a new channel before they ruined it with ads and shit
They are kinda on hiatus, though they are doing a 4 date uk tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album in april. The ginger wildheart band will apparently be touring a lot this year (already confirmed as main support on the uk and european legs of the Darkness tour), they are fronted by the wildhearts mainman ginger and play some wildhearts in their set.
@ThePofM Not necessarily dangerous, just amazingly fun and brilliant. People there aren't out for a fight, they're all like brothers in the music and the feeling of being there is amazing. I never usually write cliche-y soppy stuff, but for a Wildhearts mosh pit, and everything about the Wildhearts, I just feel obliged to.
Nah, gotta disagree with you there pal. They were good, but The Wildhearts - well, they're just the best fuckin' band on the planet. And Hey!, Hello! are jack without Victoria (hallowed be her name) :) Don't forget Silver Ginger 5, just sayin'...
@elvis316 You arec omparing the wildhearts to foof fighters? That's odd. I always believed that at least half of foo fighters fans would like the wildhearts and half of those would like the wildhearts over foo fighters
Who' still rocking this in 2024?
Never stopped.
Moi
FI King yeas man! 🎉
I'm in that crowd wearing a rainbow jacket, happy memories from 20 years ago
One of the most underrated British bands of all time
Absolutely with you brother
Criminally underrated.
Thank fuck for the Wildhearts - been a fan since '93. Best fuckin' band on the planet - full stop!
Amen to that
Abso-bloody-lutely
Who's still loving the Wildhearts in 2020? I fucking am!

1:53 that guy is big mike aka the bulk .. still wrestling and has his own band spot
Cracking tune!!! The definition of a British Rock band getting it spot on!!!
I have just found this band, so many years after their heyday. Life's good. They should have been more popular.
first heard this song when it was on the kerrang 2002 CD love it!
Me too!!
Me too! Still listening to that cd today! Faith no more, Soundgarden. Brilliant freebie!!
I just searched this cd as I got a weird nostalgic feeling for it. Haven’t heard it in over a decade
Kerrang tv channel for me in 2002 aswell lol

WILDHEARTS RULE!
I was here at this festival for the filming of this single. Festival was my first ever live gig at the age of 13. Now I'm 33 😂
Distortion festival at Nottingham, 2002. I was there too. It was an awesome festival, lots of punk bands.

Replying a little late but I was there, too. Raging Speedhorn, Hundred Reasons, and A, were some others I remember seeing there.
@@outlandishusername that was the gig where the lead singer of Hundred Reasons fell off the stage.

What a band...and not a phone in sight. Beautiful!
WHY is this song not more well known, its fucking awesome
Rick James, twelve years later, I still don't know.
Don't know how I'm just now hearing this band, but holy shit this is great!
Welcome to your new favorite band. Cheers
Everybody in this video looks like they are having an absolute blast.
For a long time I thought the chorus to this was "my aunt is Swiss . . ." 😀
What a tune!!!! Each to their own but 8 people need their ears checking!!
I remember seeing them in 2004 with the Darkness. That was a fun show!

Heard this song about 10 years ago and never knew what it was called or who it was by until now.
This song is fucking awesome! For those that care Devin Townsend (former member of The Wildhearts) was inspired by his time with the band and made a similar sounding song called Resolve! from his band The Devin Townsend Project. Cheers!
I’ve only just started getting into Devin’s music, when I heard he was briefly in the Wildhearts, it blew my mind!
love it, total high energy rock and roll
Had the privilage of seeing the wildhearts play this song live.
For the longest time I've been trying to find this song. I kept thinking of Hearbeat Radio by Lionheart

Could anyone advise me where to start off listening to this incredible band? Thanks!
