Just stop eating them and leave them be. Ensure wild animals don’t eat a clam, muscle, or any other filter feeder that has microplastics (mostly judging which area has the highest concentration and then ensuring animals don’t eat it. More clams but wild animals can’t reach them. Bigger filter feeders, too.
That's never going to happen humans will never stop eating clams and mussels but we can find other solutions to the problem like creating farm's perhaps and stop taking the huge amounts from the ocean itself and maybe try to help repopulate area's that need more of them and find ways to reduce the use of micro plastics and find ways to help remove micro plastics from the ocean to bring balance but telling people they can't have clams or mussels anymore won't happen we have to innovate to find the answers.

I live in Hawaii. I just purchases Dinner muscles at the store to find blue plastic surrounding the Muscle.

best solution would be to "stop eating them"
nope. stop throwing plastic into the ocean. mussels are one of the most sustainable foods on this planet, and it’s a valuable resource to us
