So Amesbury's forearm to the back of Vanderweils head and neck, that drove Vanderweils head into the glass was not an illegal cheap shot? And the hit also seemed on the late side. These two clowns are a joke.
He skates like Happy Gilmore-I think the late part was the result of his inability to perform a “hockey stop.”

We NEED a league that’s like the LNAH in Quebec. There's a serious need for this in the states and i think it would thrive. Suspending Amesbury Doesn’t stop anything its just a response to please the public. This is the FPHL the lowest level of professional hockey in America and for him to get a suspension for that hit, its bull-shit. I used to umpire independent professional baseball in the American Association. I doubt you’ll want my input AJ but I’m free to express my ideas.

I am a 69 years old Canadian who played and watched hockey from the age of 6.
What else were we going to do? It was ordained.
So.i.saw the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s right up to this afternoon.
I have witnessed the game change so many times i cant even remember.
At times the ferocity scared me. The scariest time was going to the junior playoffs in Calgary watching Medicine Hat play Calgary. It was nuts, and not in a good way. I was seriously worried for those kids. In the 70s. It was so scary that i wouldnt go to the final game. Those kids were in real danger in that era at that level of hockey. Headhunting at its worst.
I am glad that that has changed but the sillyness of some of the sissyness has gone too far.
There are a couple of things that drive me crazy in todays NHL,,, the first is that a guy can put himself into a vunerable position and take a normal legal body check and it causes a melee. Whats that all about?
Take the hit and carry on or ban body contact all together. If the hit was slimy then sure a spanking is in order, by a teammate as it should be but a little body contact and the game stops for a clutch and grab session? Nonsense.
The other thing is people who obviously dont understand that "The Greatest Fights in Hockey" bullshit videos are all about the old benchclearing brawls.
Those people have never seen Tochet vs Probert or PJ Stock vs Stephen Peat and will never understand the ebb and flow and strategic reasons for a good tilt.
EDIT,,, I am just a grumpy old man.

I grew up on SPHL going to FireAntz games. Mom threw a beer on away coach during brawl early game one night. So did everyone else. Was fantastic.

It's the same in the uk with soccer. Players are on to much money they forget about there sport. There seems to be no passion for there sport its just how much money they can make
