    I had a laparoscopic removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes and soon after had terrible pain in right side of groin. They did 3 Ct scans and ultrasound sound of my pelvis and organs nothing. Finally an orthopedic did an mri of my hip and found an anterior/superior labrum tear. Im pretty heathy 63 who walks 6-8 miles 5 days a week since the 90’s. Hurts worse when laying down.

      It's very common for people who have had some type of abdominal surgery to develop trigger points in their abdominal muscles and/or hip flexors from where the scopes and probes are inserted. Labral tears are also quite common in asymptomatic people. So not to say the groin pain couldn't be from the labral tear, but if it started right after the surgery with no other known cause of it, it's very possible you could have had the labral tear for a long time and may be having referred pain to the groin from the abdominal surgery. Additionally a labral tear would probably hurt worse during weightbearing than laying down. Muscle trigger points likely would not show on an MRI. You might consider seeing a physical therapist who specializes in women's health / pelvic pain to see if you can get it sorted out.

    MRI revealed nondisplaced labrum tear. Walked 40 years 6 days a week until 2 months ago. I am 71 but active and otherwise healthy. Am I too old for surgery. Hate to waste time on PT then have to have surgery. then.

      At 71, you're not too old for surgey if you're otherwise healthy. However, nondisplaced labral tears are common and it may or may not be the cause of your hip pain. Getting PT likely isn't a "waste" of your time if you find the right PT. You may be able to avoid surgery.

    I had an inguinal hernia laparoscopic surgery 6 months ago and never made a full recovery.
    An MRI just completed now shows a hip labral tear.
    I did not have this condition prior. Could the inguinal hernia surgery have damaged the hip labrum? Thank you.

      It's fairly unlikely that the surgery would cause that. The labrum is really deep vs a hernia is pretty superficial.

    Would you explain how to sit on sofa when having hip labrum tear?

    • @More4Life
      @More4Life  Před 11 měsíci +6

      In general, reclined positions (greater than 90 degrees between thighs and trunk) usually work best. There's less impingement of the labrum that way. Here's another video about hip impingement you might find helpful as well: czcams.com/video/ssomAau7S4U/video.html
