    I put up that same 18 foot pool a few years ago. I had to drain it and take it back down three times because the legs kept sinking in my sand. It's a bit more difficult to find your spacing and add the pavers before the grade the ground but if it keeps you from taking it back down, it's well worth the hassle.

    Forgot to embed pavers into the sand. Got it. How deep is the sand bed? Once the pavers are in that should take care of the legs sinking into the sand bed. Good job guys.

    I would add that the slabs can be sharp, so put some foam matt over it otherwise due to the pressure of the pool it could tear.

    How long did you have to let the stone dust layer dry before adding sand? Isn't the stone dust layer kinda hard like concrete when dry?

      I know what you mean. The music in this video isn't so bad. It's bad when the music is too loud and you can't hear their voice, or if their voice is low and you have to turn the volume up when they talk and down when the music is playing without the voice.

    You really want small 8x8 pads for each upright also- it provides a large pad for the base of each upright. Level is p1 as you did and your substrate is a good plan but never use soft fill. Always take from packed soil and never use new to try to level the low side. I see you realized this. Good job and I like that you showed the mistake and result and identified the step ! I started writing this before I saw you realize the result. I am 51% Finnish and I hear your accent as european in some way. Americans would hide the mistake and not use it to teach people. I appreciate and love your video. It is very focused and helpful. Thank you very much for the content and showing the mistake! This is where people truly learn. See mistakes or experience them. Post more projects please. Many people need to see samples of doing things themselves. SISU!!!!

      There are plenty of vids of Americans showing ALL the mistakes they made, precisely to help others from making the same mistakes! In fact out of the 20 or so I’ve watched today, this is the first European or non-yank that I’ve seen. I’m not picking a fight, just that stereotyping and generalizing doesn’t help anyone, anywhere, ever. Not all Americans are whatever you perceive them as in your mind. Good Day to you sir.

    It’s stone dust - I’m concerned because the base looks like soil still not dirt. Dog out and never use dug
    Out soil to raise the low side. Stone dust and crushed stone you are going to be fine. Few people use simple masonry landscaping rules. These are not pool rules. Pool rules are merely post locations for post secure location-- the rest is washed sand for the pool itself. Four inches of washed sand. The settling is from soils and not true dirt. Each leg crushed stone and stone dust and a little concrete 8X8 - the vase needs to be dug out to dirt without any soil color.. you did more than many videos though -- do t be afraid to dig two feet and fill concrete for each post position.

    My question is can I use mason sands for for underneath of the pool ?

    • @antoniomorales9422
      @antoniomorales9422 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, mason sand is play sand, the sand you would find at the beach or use for a pool. Concrete sand is what you want to stay away from as there will be rocks that could poke a hole in your pool

    • @JesusisKing03
      @JesusisKing03 Před rokem +4

      No Mason Sand and Playsand are NOT the same. Do not use playsand only mason sand. It is particularly used for above ground pool bases. Also, if you're concerned about anything poking your pool, use insulation foam boards (the thin ones). You can also add pavers (add river rocks to the surrounding area of the pavers so they dont move, maybe even under) to have the pool legs sit on them. DO NOT LET THE PAVERS TOUCH your pool. They can cause damage.

    What he said. Ditch the background music. It’s annoying. Also, I can barely understand what the woman is even saying… You should really hire people to do. The voice overs on your video so people can understand you.

      He is European and perhaps not familiar with all of the English terminology. One can overlook this as he obviously knows what he is doing otherwise. Not perfect as he points out his mistake later, but overall a good job and great video.
