I don’t speak or write much Chinese but I agreed with you that learning your partner’s language is key to a happy relationship. So, please educate and take your relationship seriously to avoid misunderstandings. This is one of my greatest reason I have my daughters speak, read and hopefully write Chinese.

I guess I was the unlucky one because it was hell marrying my Taiwanese wife, I was practically married to her family and they had so many high expectations from me especially financially that I could not reach since I didn't make enough, plus the pandemic made it worse, no emotional support from them at all, and it felt like my wife was been influencing and listening to her family more than me which drained me almost completely to the point that I almost committed suicide, plus she is 4 years older than me, where her time was running out in having children and I needed to provide for her according to her mom, because that's their tradition they said. . Even though they came from a wealthy family who owns many properties in Taiwan. Greatest thing I did was leave..to save myself...moral of the story..don't marry, only live together

I’ve been in a relationship with a taiwanese girl for 3 years , I’ve met her in a different country and she was timid and nice but scared of everything and everyone , but a completely different person when I travelled to Taiwan two months ago , she was more confident and reassured by her parents she was living with and had no worries . I’ve lived with her parents in the same house , it seems her mother is wearing the pants and she built a business , their father is merely an accessory and he’s the one maintaining the house , my girlfriend’s brother depends on their parents and they all seem to stick around . All this was cool until I realised that this is part of Taiwanese culture , because we planned on getting married I obviously went back home where I was born and started with the whole process of translating and legalising documents and getting them ready at different embassies to come back to Taiwan and get married . This all sounds nice but because she depends on her parents and because she will ask for their help and trust them more than me this relationship is hanging on a thread , she lately started preaching about gender equality and a baby even tho she barely works , barely has any financial stability , she’s rushing and says she does not have too much time because she is getting old . I would say mentality and culture is completely different from Europe ! Parents and kids are stuck together and it seems they die together , which is .. a nightmare for me , I can’t believe anyone who would’t dream about an independent life 😅 .

Hi Gray, thanks for your sharing. In our culture, most people will move out after getting married. But it sounds you still have to live with the family afterwards. Is that so? On the other hand, some Taiwanese girls expect men to take more responsibility, especially financially wise, and that’s why she would say she wants a baby even though she barely works cuz she hopes that you can be the main financial support. Anyway, what do you plan to do next? It sounds like you are kind of in a struggle.

Many similarities between us so far in texting but, one question/trouble I have now is this girl wants to do a trip together, but, we haven't even met on a proper date. Isn't that weird? Also, what do Taiwanese girls think about texting in general, because there is room for miscommunication in texting as you know.

Hi Lex, I cannot speak for her, but I would also find it a bit weird if a girl wants to travel with me before we really know each other no matter what her nationality it lol
As for texting, it depends, but most Taiwanese girls I know like to text their boyfriends a lot. Like I said in my video, I believe the best way to reduce miscommunication is to learn each other’s languages.

Hi Javlon, Thank you for your message. I understand that it must be very difficult when it comes to cultural differences, especially when it comes to sth related to religions. According to what I know, most Taiwanese people are quite open-minded. I am not gonna say sth like “love can conquer anything.” Instead, I would say continuous communication is the key. Try not to be speechless, but attempt to explain your religion more to them, and create more mutual understanding. It definitely takes time, and might, inevitably, arouse some of uncomfortable discussion. However, stay positive and keep the communication. One day, nothing will certainly mean nothing😁

@@Javlonification I will see if I can organize those details and make a video. It seems to be a big topic and I haven't been a parent yet so it's a bit hard for me to feel the same. I understand that you love your girlfriend so much. As for now, I would suggest that you two should just enjoy the moment as much as you can, and discuss what you should do or how to interact with her parents or anything else with your girlfriend whenever it is needed. However, you should probably focus on her and the things between you two more. Sometimes, thinking and worrying about something else too much might not be helpful. I cannot say my reply is the best answer, but I do hope that you and girlfriend can breakthrough all the obstacles and work this out!!

I have a question. Im living in japan and i met this taiwanese girl at a party who just started living in japan for a month now we talk in the party and she ask about my star sign which is new to me and after went back to her friends. We also exchanged social media accounts when we parted ways after party And the morning after she invited me to have dinner.
I try observing her if she likes me but our conversations are all general topics nothing romantic talks or flirting. But she always try to speak with me and makes me confused if she likes me or not same time while walking around we sometimes bump into each other cutely and she sometimes grab my arms or hold my arm jacket and then when going home inside the train we stand with each other face to face closely and she ask for my height with is 175cm and her is 155cm little big difference in height. But when at home she don’t write me that much just replies to my messages and write back so slow or not even replying so im a little bit confused. I want to ask her right away what does she look for me is it friendship or relationship she looking? Because for me i need to know right away before i start building my feelings up.
    Please help me understand ☺️🙏
