I buy secondhand and vintage clothings from my area. Not only I get to wear unique clothes and style - which really reflects my personality, i am also helping thr environment and small businesses in our area.

Yes!! I have been just appreciating what's already in my closet lately and having fun coming up with new looks. I eventually want to redo my entire wardrobe too, but want to be really selective and collect favorite pieces over time :D Thanks Adriana

Love this video!! I have prioritised buying pre-loved clothing for the last 12 months and I am SHOCKED with how many high quality, affordable pieces I have found. Most items I bought were 60% - 80% off, so I use my savings to get pieces tailored. I am so, so, so happy with how my wardrobe is shaping up now :)

Here, in Costa Rica, there are brands like Sulara LifeStyle and Bogo, that will produce unique pieces of clothing, one per size of each style, with organic materials and local employees from remote locations will make this clothes by hand, instead of machines and 10 women or men using the same piece (as you see with other brands, fast fashion). This comes at a higher price, but I personally think is worth it due to the quality of the piece and the materials. I now own half of the wardrobe I used to, but the pieces last forever 💯🤗
I've had a bit of a tough week with dr visits and emergency trying to find out what's going on. During this week I found your videos and I am so thankful. I'm getting to know my personal style as well and whenever I make a purchase for clothes I make sure it's something I will actually wear on repeat.
I really love to watch your videos and hear your thoughts on these themes Sophie. Many of your thoughts really resonate with me. A while ago I also started buying clothes more consciously; Aligning what I pick with my lifestyle, instead of hopping on board of the cycle of trends. It's liberating, costs less and is more environmentally friendly. So many great benefits!
Yes so many benefits! I don't miss spending a lot of money on clothes and then not even getting any use out of them. Now I am very very selective and by default I'm saving tons of money too :) That is so cool you can relate to my journey!! thanks for the sweet comment
Maybe no one will be interested but I just want to say something. I have only three colours in my "wardrobe": white, black, and different shades of blue like dark blue and light blue. So I never have problem "what to wear today". It is really very good.

I went through the same thoughts and felt silly about just having clothes sit in my closet 😊 I'm glad the video gave you some new ideas
I have started the habit which is related to shopping your closet. I pick an item and challenge myself to create at least 4 different looks with that. This makes my brain think and re-evaluate what I have. Then I choose some other item and create looks with that. Usually I aim to make 2-3 looks with same item within a week (and if that item is a shirt then it most likely ends up in a laundry bin). Then I choose something else and style it. This made me realize that I have more than enough clothes
I do this too! I like to turn on some music and play dress up to see how many outfits I can come up with :) So much fun. You are right. the process helps me to realize that I have enough clothes already in my closet.
I came up with that idea by accident, when I was packing for a trip and needed to have as few items in my hand luggage as possible. Minimalism makes you more mobile for sure (not during COVID though)

Love this video! I mostly buy linen clothes and cotton clothing because of the comfort and lifespan. I have noticed that no matter what clothes I have in my closet, I only ever go back to the few pieces I love and wear them often. That is why I ended up decluttering a lot of my closet (I actually do this every 6 months or so); I usually give my best friend first pick and then donate the rest that she didn't want.

I try only buy real cotton and natural textiles and leather...higher priced and made to last. Breathable and comfortable. We live in Africa and buy many used clothes as well. We use local tailors and craftspeople to make new items.

I live in Florida so like you climate is pretty constant. So I am looking forward to your videos.
I find it great and refreshing that you consider global issues (such as the planet as a whole) in your decision-making. I have one nitpick, though: cotton may be natural, but take a 100% cotton T-shirt, wash it a few times, then put it into the dryer a few times, and it will lose its shape by twisting like crazy, with no hope of ironing it back into shape. My most long-lasting clothes are either a mix of (mainly) cotton and polyester, or 100% synthetic material.

My very late struggle.. when i saw the bag that i really want for along time, suddenly had discount and the stocks is limited😭... its very cheap, and might not in market anymore, but i already have many bags in my closet that i never wear... so after watched this video, i tried to slept it over.. i forget it in a week.. and now i dont want that bag anymore.. i dont know why...😂

I guess slow fashion quite good to retain it quality on choice we need to buy, i had slow fashion choosing some tee shirt or pant, that I use for longer, like nylon tee shirt, inner tee shirt, good quality cotton tee shirt, good track bottom, short pants ,also jeans....trousers... Coat or jacket timeless,anytime we can wear...check shirt.
