- Jonathan teams up with Jeff Nelson, an expert critter spotter, to dive the Blue Heron Bridge, known for the best "muck diving" in the USA. Located in Riviera Beach, Florida, the Blue Heron Bridge is an easy shore dive filled with an amazing diversity of small marine animals--if you can find them! In this episode, Jonathan is searching for one of the rarest animals seen there--the Stargazer fish.

I don't understand how this channel doesn't have 10 million subs yet. Videography is nat geo/discovery channel quality with an entertaining host. Honestly some of the best content on youtube.
Thank you! I don't quite understand the slow growth either.
@@BlueWorldTV VERY TRUE
True, this channel looks like one of these productions on national geographic or discovery. Very professional, educational and entertaining.
I never knew that a Flounder can move its eyes independently, like a Chameleon. That's why I love and watch your channel. I learn something new every episode!
Agreed
Agreed x2
Agree dread jonathan is always teaching me new Things richtig dread
KKonas...
Going there in december, can't wait to dive ! 😍😍😍
Too bad I missed you though, two months earlier and I'd have met the team !
Keep it up !
SAME!
😇😍😍😍😍👍👊👏
Did you get to go?
@@jennrat2982 I did !
Didn't see a stargazer though ...
But the dive was amazing, spent 1h30 underwater, my longest so far ! Great viz, plenty of fish, and warm water, even for december, loved it 😍
@@MRnautilus9 Wonderful...👍☺️
I'm always in awe of this channel. Makes me so nostalgic. In some ways (and the BEST ways), it doesn't feel like the videos are from this decade.
I was there that day when you guys where diving with Nelson. I was waiting for this video for sooooo long hahaha. I’m glad that is finally out
I'll definitely have to do that dive, SO MANY AMAZING ANIMALS!
Buscando yo imi imajinasion.
+1 😉
Hello Jonothan, I just wanted to say thank you so much. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have gotten certified. I have seen much marine life and it was all for you. Thank you for being so amazing. 😃
Wow, that's awesome! Congrats!
Me and my son watch one of your videos every day, we love learning about the blue world together. Thank you from England! 😊
Did you know the star of our new IMAX film is Gina Moseley from Birmingham? Any relation?
macgillivrayfreeman.com/project/ancient-caves/
@@BlueWorldTV No relation but thanks for sharing the link, the trailer looks brilliant. Are you able to stream this? We'd love to watch 👍
The stargazer is legit my unicorn. I was disappointed I never saw one in the Philippines. I had no idea you could find them in Florida!!
The ONLY way to find one of those things is with an expert spotter that knows where and how. I would never in a million years find one myself.
Blue heron is a great place to dive with so many different species to see. Jeff is an ambassador in protecting Blue Heron bridge too. Thanks for another great video BlueWorld Friends!
Jeff has been leading the charge in protecting this amazing place!
Record number of special species in this episode. Amazing dive site!
You have such a funny character that makes me enjoy watching these episodes a lot;
"excuse me, sorry, coming through"
"hey baby, check out my awesome yellow fin" 🤣🤣🤣
That's "pitch-shifted Jonathan". LOL. 🤣
YES, another upload, this warms my heart so much! Keep the amazing work up💙💙
Holy crap, I dived here multiple times! Never seen the stargazer, but mingled with the octopus and myriad dinner-plate sized starfish. Such a cool dive, and extremely accessible. You can literally suit up right in the parking lot!
G'day Michael, I cannot thank you enough for the great work you do cleaning up our seas, You are a "The Trash Warrior", I have just retired after 50 plus years in the nursing profession and hope now to have more time to follow in your footsteps.
I just added that dive to my bucket list! You filmed so many cool animals on the dive, but the stargazer was probably my favorite. This episode had a lot of funny parts too lol
They should rename it as the Keyser Soze fish.
Awesome! Thank you!
Blue heron bridge is such a gem! Never know what it’s gonna throw at you. Last time I dove it I got an octopus and a horseshoe crab
Yay another Blue World video! I love them! Kudos especially to the guy who provides your music. He adds a special touch the videos. Please tell him I'm a big fan of his too! 😊🤿
I felt soooooo touched when seeing you guys finally found the stargazer!!! BlueWorld is amazing!!! Thank you!!!
*Man that Frogfish stole my heart* 😭
So cute right?
The batfish is by far the strangest fish I've seen. The oceans are filled with amazing creatures!
Another wonderful adventure. I remember your first dive at this location, one of my favorite, I think you almost got kidnapped twice by adorable octopuses. 😀
Fantastic filming, hope I get to dive there. Thanks !!!
It's a good day when you upload! You should also have series about going muck diving around the US or the world.
Very well filmed, narrated, and edited. Excellent.
Thanks!
The Blue Heron Bridge is truly a special place but unfortunately it is one of the many places that is getting too popular and too overcrowded with divers doing bad things. I dive this location about 3 times per month and constantly see poor diving behavior: finning the bottom, grabbing the reefs and structures; but also unethical behavior as well: using muck sticks to stir up an animal for a photograph. I wish more divers would follow good behavior and remember to be passive observers of the environment instead of being so intrusive. But I guess that is a lot to ask for.
I love how he lifted your hand ever so gently like "here ya go, don't need you gettin stuck" 😂😂
I love the attention you have brought to some of the lesser known animals that we have in Florida! There is currently a coral disease running rampant through Florida's reef tract. As one of the many many Biologist working to to save Florida's Stony corals, it'd be awesome to see you and your team cover the reef tract and Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease!
That's a good idea. Next time we are down that way we will do a story about that. Send me an email please with your contact info!
I would love to see a video about that. Definitely an important issue for our reefs.
Supremely interesting episode, muck diving is intriguing stuff. Thanks for the lunch break vacation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stargazer looks like a small Whale Shark, I loved it!
Thank you for this amazing content Blue World Team
Wow! So many cool creatures on these two dives!! I'm happy you were able to find the Stargazer! I was honestly just amazed at the small creatures you found that I have never even heard of!! I love this channel!! Is there any way you can increase the number of videos you put up here??? Hope you're all healthy. Stay safe!!
This was easily the best video I've seen on this channel. So many weird and unique creatures!
Wow! I would love to go there and I was fooled that flounders were cute. The sole is super cool. At night, the fish and other marine life looks like a reality TV show. The "Here fishy fishy" was also very funny.
Blue Heron is aa great dive site, and Jeff at Force-E certainly has saved more than one dive for us!
I'm excited to see the beauties of Blue Heron Bridge, and the adventure
Such an odd fish, the natural world makes some crazy creatures
This was AMAZING! I knew that I wanted to dive BHB one of these days, but now I have moved it up to the top of my list. Those green colored Trunk Fish were so unusual and so cool looking! One of the best BHB videos yet! Force E Scuba is said to be the best place to dive with too. 👌
Try to get Jeff as your divemaster!
One of my favorite channels on this platform. I wish you were given a show on Netflix.
I love this show
That music is so nostalgic! I enjoyed this a lot
Subhan Allah, so fantastic!!!
The Stargazer looks a lot like a Stonefish XD
I MISS YOU!!!! I’ve been watching you on clever it was kid reading app! And i love watching about the shark ones! Your a legend dude!!
Welcome!
I absolutely love your channel. I learn so much. And though I won’t be able to scuba dive due to my lung issues I can enjoy the videos you make because it’s like being there seeing what you see without ever getting into the water😀
very nice video, keep going
High CRI diving lights would probably be helpful for distinguishing all those colors down there.
Great and interesting video!
It doesn’t matter how many videos you put out. All of them are amazing.
Aw thanks!
@@BlueWorldTV Keep up the good work.
I love your close up photography!
So glad you're back in force Jonathan. I spend a good bit of time in Florida and have heard a lot of good things about this site. Maybe one day.
Gorgeous animals, every one of them 😍
Amazing images
I live only a hour away and someway how I still haven't gone here, but I will be coming here soon to snorkel and free dive, and maybe even in more in the future scuba dive
amazing frog fish, stargazer, and fire worm ‼️®™️ 👏👏
My union hall is right over that bridge, local 402 local W. Palm beach Ironworkers❕
That's a nice dive spot. I got some cool pics while free diving there. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
So interesting and beautiful!
Very interesting, thank you!
Jeff is awesome.
Awesome divemaster!
I love this channel!
This is such a fun dive.
How did I miss a video on my local dive site :( glad I caught it!!!!!!!
That’s awesome glad you found the stargazer 😁 BHB is alway an adventure
Awesome video ! This is one of our favorite dives, never gets old !
Never seen before.... it's really awesome....👍💯
Nice Episode ! watched it from Cologne
I love your videos I can’t wait to go back to the blue heron bridge
It's awesome!
@@BlueWorldTV I agree it was my first time in salt water it was a last ditch effort to dive as the boats were all blown out and I’m not disappointed
OMG, this is amazing!
Just got my certificate in Martinique, Thanks you were a huge inspiration, I went to Bonaire to scuba dived, all the teachers were booked, I love the sport so much
Congratulations and welcome!!
Nice 😁 BHB is always a great time. I’m still on the hunt for the frogfish
Its cool to know that most water front areas can say that there is a diving shop close enough. Let get more global speed organized, future friend supporters?
Beautiful and entertaining!
Amazing
Are there any plans for more merch designs in the future? I love the current one and have zero complaints, just curious!
What do you think we should add? Open to ideas!
Great job camera man Todd & Zack & oh yes Johnathan to... lol..
Wow those fishes are so tiny. My favorite are the seahorses. I think I like them so much, BC the male has to carry the babes. Only if that was real in humans. My grandmother always said if a male had to carry the 2nd child there would only be one child per household. She was a hoot. You would've like her. That's where I get my orneriness from.
Well enjoyed the dive boys. See ya next time, be safe,
Chris from Missouri
I carried my kids in a backback for years!!! LOL
@@BlueWorldTVMr. Johnathan sweetheart, I wouldn't even put that in the same kind of pain. There's pain involved it this kind of process... lol.... A lot of pain only a women can describe. OMG IT'S THE WORST KIND OF PAIN A HUMAN MAN CAN NOT EXPERIENCE. But let's move on & agree to disagree on this matter. :~)..............
If I had a salt water tank. I would love to have a bunch of those cute little seahorses. They really are so are so neat & cool to watch.
Thanks so much for sharing, be safe around & in water, God bless,
Chris from Missouri
That video in 2016 was the first video i have ever watched of the blue world.
Glad you are still here!!
Thank you ❤that was awesome 😎
Glad you enjoyed it
17:24 See guys, the size of the fin matters
This was so Interesting! I love this channel ♥️
Thanks for the awesome shots and great editing! Love you guys
Thanks for watching!
This is why I love diving soo much. Great video!!
Thanks!
Force E? I’ve been there! They’re great!
Thankyou for your lovely content .
Thanks for watching!
Very interesting sea creatures on a muck dive.
Cool, I just saw a stargazer in NYC. Northern stargazer.
Had no idea they were found that far north!
@@BlueWorldTV I saw it on the beach. Some rod and reel guy caught it and was letting it die on the beach. I asked if they were going to eat it. He said "no" so i took a photo and threw it back. I heard they are good for eating but this was small, and there is no point in killing fish you don't eat. Some caught them in Jersey. I went in the water recently and there were a lot of smooth dogfish sharks. Nice to see. I saw also plenty of burrfish and pufferfish this summer. Pretty interesting and easy to fitm, especially the burrfish.
I am extremely big larger than life fan of the blue world.
Yay!!!!
Dove this a few years ago. it is definitely on my return to dive list. Lots of fun.
I will be there this weekend- my first salt water dive since OW!
Have fun!
i love this
12:38 one of my favorite jellyfish, they can actually sleep much like a box jelly
Love watching your adventures!!
Star gazer reporting via wondering...
Hey ever thought of checking the diving near sunken city of atlantis?
❤
I am impressed by how you focus on small sea creatures. It just goes to show how your dive team goodness attracts better star gazer chances. Yes. A rare find indeed.
I wonder how big they can get?
Also those fire worms crawling around and also getting a shot at in going into a sand hole area.
I believe those creatures might and could get bigger and talented.
May i ask out of. All the muck diving you did before, is it best to aim for slack tide times for better under water creature ratios of availability and motivation? Compared to night diving?
Also that batfish had a particular cool way of limbic coordination and styled motion. It felt as it is in tranformational direction of it's timing?
So cool.
Thanks guys for exampling with such areas and range of likely hood.
At 05:45 Bat fish in Florida and Bat Fish in Indo Pacific waters are 2 very different species indeed.
Yeah, common names are inconsistent, which is the reason why we have scientific names.
Jumping jellyfish, Jonathan!
What the heck is a stargazer?
I love these amazing animals
Nice video. I'm going to BHB July 6, 2022, for a few days.
So much fun.
15:37 is the fire worm like an underwater centipede
Yes, it's similar. Fire worms are marine bristle worms. They look kinda fuzzy, but that's not soft fuzz...it's actually tiny needles, and they are venomous. So contact with them produces a painful rash that takes a while to heal. Definitely not something you want to touch!
I love that Force E, their refrigerated fill system gives you cold to touch fills at service pressure in 15 minutes flat.
I like how the stargazers eyes were just only sticking out
At 10:18 there's a snail shell that the decorator crab walks over. Practicing my snail knowledge, so wondering if someone can check and see if I'm appropriate guessing that that's an augur of some kind? Thanks in advance! I really love snails.
That beach looks actually cool😂
