- The legendary Petula Clark was born in 1932 ..and is now 90 years of age .She is a British singer, actress, and songwriter. This video includes performances followed by stereo versions. She has had one of the longest careers of any British singer, spanning more than seven decades. Clark's professional career began during the Second World War as a child entertainer on BBC Radio. Please remember her in Blood Brothers,her performance was wonderful. Also David and Shaun Cassidy were absolutely amazing. All three spectacular 💕.

I have enjoyed Petula Clark's music since I was a teenager.
Now74 I appreciate the timeless songs she sings.
I appreciate Petula collaberating with Tony Hatch for the extended versions and videos of her songs especially Downtown.
Had the privilege of meeting her and husband Claude Wolf in 1970.
Beautiful and charming lady.
I still cherish this memory and will as long as I live.
Now 90 Petula is still performing.
What a trooper.
Long may she live and continue performing as long as she is willing and able.

Petula is an awesome talent. Capable of performing many styles, her vocal talent is outstanding. She is a singer’s singer. As a vocalist myself who performs without electronic voice enhancements; truly talented artists as Petula are able to deliver a song without all the latest technology: multiple vocal layers, computer programming effects, auto tune, etc.
WHAT A MASSIVE TALENT PETULA CLARK IS.
Also what a fantastic and unrivalled career this most wonderful lady has had.

Hard to explain though Downtown seemed to propel this young teen to keep taking a bus to downtown Minneapolis in the mid 60's to have lunch and movie. Often with a gal. Or just by myself. Numerous times. Not more I can say. Love the videos.

Petula Clark is a unique, incredible and amazing talent that is unrivalled,unsurpassed and beyond brilliant.
First as a BBC Radio child star
singing to the British Soldiers of WW Two.
Then becoming a Movie Star which Petula went back to being in the 1960's.
Then a recording star ⭐ recording hit records not just in English but also in French,Spanish, Italian and German.
She then started to record the songs of musical mistro Tony Hatch,songs that would become Worldwide Mega-Hits.
One of them,Downtown, became Petula's signature tune.
Petula's back catalogue of hits include I Know A Place, Don't Sleep In The Subway Darlin',The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener,My Love,This Is My Song, Colour My World and Don't Give Up.
Downtown became a absolutely massive number one hit in The American Hot One Hundred and the people of America really took Petula to their hearts.
So much so that Petula had FIFTHTEEN Consecutive hits there.
Then more Movie roles came along with Finnian's Rainbow With Hollywood Legend Fred Astaire and Goodbye Mister Chips with Peter O'Toole.
Next up was Musical Theatre when Petula took the deserved starring role in The Sound Of Music.
Other Theatre roles came along these included Sunset Blvd,Blood Brothers with David Cassidy and Mary Poppins The Musicial.
Petula also had residencies on Las Vagas and Broadway.
All in all quite a life to look back on.
And through all this wonderful career Petula Clark has remained very approachable,very kind and very generous.
No one has deserved such a long lasting career as much as Petula Clark.
I am just so incredibly grateful that in my own lifetime I was lucky enough to be able to have Sally Olwen Clark (Petula's real name) in my life.
She has brought me much happiness and forefullment through her ultra brilliant music.
I am forever thankful to those who came up with the wonderous You Tube.
Through this amazing invention I have been able to see Petula's PHENOMENAL career through the years.
And of course with You Tube I am able to hear @peterroberts wonderful collection of the Greatest Hits of Petula Clark.

Petula and Dusty and Lulu in my formative years, Gloria Estefan since 1999 and my first listen to 'Alma Caribena', all in Spanish but who cares? A few others along the way, and lots of stuff from before my time; so much I must have missed. Most recently I've discovered just how good a singer was Diana Dors. Call me sexist, which I probably am; a female voice is the soundtrack to every miracle. This is on again, and might be again after that. Thank you so much for writing. @@peteroberts4033
