Exactly the video I was looking for. Thanks human.
You are welcome!
Perfect, exactly what I was looking for.
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much! I thought it was going to be a big chore to switch from firestick to antenna TV. I had given up and then I found your video. My husband is happily watching Chiefs football.
You are very welcome!
Easy to follow and worked perfectly thanks so much.

Very helpful. Thank you!

This was so helpful. Thank you!

You are a life saver brother ❤️ I tried the voice command thing but never aimed it at the tv 🤦🏻♂️

Exactly what I needed to know. You made it so easy. Thank you so very much, from an old lady who does not understand all this stuff.
You are very welcome! Glad I could help.
Love that. I was wondering how Alexa was doing this.
Wow thank you
You are welcome!
Thanks a lot man 🛐
You're welcome
Bless your heart thank you so so much I just could not for the life of me figure this out.
You are very welcome!
Well I got it to work. Basically what I wanted to try was. Switching. Viewing my ring. Camera view Etc. . back to an HDMI input. With out the use of the remote. Simultaneously. . it actually works. Being that I have 2. Computer screens. That is two flat screens as. Dual monitors. . I'm able to switch them back and. Without using an extra fire stick. .
Awesome! Glad to hear you got it to work without the need of a second Fire Stick.
I was looking for a way to switch to different hdmis with out having to say it orally
Same
Same
Try this
Push the home button on the fire stick remote and it will switch to that input. If it doesn't work, on your Roku TV go to:
Settings > System > Control other devices (CEC) > 1- touch play (make sure this is checked)
Now from the home screen of your Roku TV you can switch to the fire stick input by pushing the home button on your fire stick. Hope this helps
WOW ...AWESOME 👌
Thank you!
What’s the tutorial worked like a champ thank you.
You're welcome!
Another great video I was wondering how to do this I have my TV set to where when I hit the home button from the antenna or power on another device it will switch inputs but did not know how to do it from the remote. I also use the cec and that allows me to use my TV remote to operate all my devices Formuler, Buzz and all compatible devices. by the way you gained a subscriber from the last video I watched thanks again for sharing,Have a great day!
Thank you Jerramie. Much appreciate the sub and the kind comments. You have a great day also.
Thank you
You're welcome
Thanks for the tutorial. Can you also use the fire remote to switch TV channels once in the antenna input?
No unfortunately you can not do that. Maybe in the future they will add that option.
YOU ROCK!!!!
Thank you. Appreciate it!
Very nice.
Just purchased a 55" Samsung TV, but am having trouble pairing the remote for volume control.
Can u help here?
Great lesson.
When you say you are having trouble "pairing" the remote, you went through the steps to setup your TV with the Fire Stick and you can't control the volume with the Fire TV Stick remote? If so, check that the CEC is enabled on your Samsung TV and in the Fire TV Stick. Let me know if that is the case.
I’ve been wondering how to get back to TV after watching Netflix. THANK YOU!
You are welcome!
great video. It does switch back to antenna input alright but how do you change over the air channels with the Firestick max remote?
At the moment you can not change over the channels with the remote. Maybe in the future they may make it possible.
@@DJsTutorials I was afraid of that. But thankyou for responding and letting me know so know I can stop the search. I have my tv Alexa enabled so I can use her to change channels. Thats all good but just thought with this remote would be nice since I would already have it in my hand.
DJ .. I am trying to use an antenna for local stations. After I connect the coax cable to TV where do I change the input to antenna. Is the the step where you say "hold micro and say switch to"?
Yes that is correct. Just press and hold the mic down and say "Switch to Antenna Input" release the mic button and point to the TV. If switch to "Antenna Input" doesn't work, try saying just "Antenna" without the "Input".
I used to be able to go to the firestick homepage from the antenna input by just using the home button, but it stopped working. Is there a way to change it back to use the home button instead of talking in the microphone? Great video!
Sometimes, if you go in Manage Equipment and change the TV even though it is the correct one, just by doing that it makes it work again as it used to before. Give that a try.
Great video tnx, is it possible to have the Firestick remote change TV channels
Thank you! No, the only way you can do that is if you are using the Fire TV Recast.
Thank you I got the TV antenna working but I cannot change channels do you have any advice?
Unfortunately the Fire TV Stick does not have that capability. Only the Fire TV Cube does.
your voice is sooo deep i'm scared to turn on my sub woofer incase stuff starts breaking!! lol - cheers for the video very useful.
Glad I could help!
thanks DJ. Is there a way to change input on LG tv by pressing home button? I am able to do on Sony TV.
You are welcome George. Not that I know of.
Thanks. Needed to know that the TV channel is named 'Antenna input' not 'TV input ' as shown on the TV menu. Had the HDMI changes working but not going to live TV
Glad to hear that it worked.
Thanks for this video when I do this it works but only does 1 input and doesn't go to say I say input 4 it just goes down 1 input. How do I change it to go to any of them?
You may have to remove your TV and then add it again. If that doesn't work, you may have to assign each HDMI input to a device. For example: HDMI 1 Cable box, HDMI 2 Fire Stick, HDMI 3 Blue-ray player, & HDMI 4 Xbox. Then you can say switch to HDMI 4 or switch to Xbox. Let me know how it goes.
Hi, super helpful video. I'm having a small problem tho ... I have an Insignia TV (not smart), and when I'm on antenna I can switch back to FS by using the voice button and simply saying "HDMI1". It takes a couple seconds but it works. I can switch to any of the HDMI inputs this way.
What's not working is going from FS to the TV's antenna option. In the TV's device listing it's labeled "TV". But saying "TV" or "Switch to TV" gets a "Hmm, I can't do that" from Alexa. I can say "Switch to antenna" and Alexa says "Ok", but nothing switches.
In summary, I can use Alexa to go from TV to FS, but not the other way. Still hafta use the TV's remote to get to antenna.
Any thoughts?
What if you add "input" at the end. Switch to Antenna Input.
Is there a way to add a shortcut for the inputs? I have multiple fire sticks but I also have a fire television. I would like to put a 4K fire stick on my older fire television but the problem is trying to switch the inputs being that it is a fire TV. The fire televisions actually come with a shortcut to where you can click on on the main menu and access the input you want. Can you do this on the fire sticks?
No the Fire Sticks do not offer any shortcuts to switch inputs like the Fire Edition TVs do. Hopefully one day they will offer that option.
Thanks for this. Any way to change inputs with buttons? My father is old school and still doesn’t want to talk to his remote lol
Lol I hear you man but unfortunately you can't right now.
Thanks , is there a way to switch inputs without having to use voice control
No there isn't. There is an attachment that you can get that will let you do that but, it makes the Fire TV remote wider. Check it out on Amazon. It's called Sideclick.
Happy Passover/Easter, I enjoyed your video a lot, but I have a good question. I only have internet, times are tuff and I have the 4k FS-tv, and for some time now, when you're in add equip. for so long it ask me what input is my tv, samsung dvd/BR HT, after so many videos it always came down to the optical cable instead of the hdmi, (my setup, 2010 sharp aquos, samsung HT-Z320 BR-HT, xbox one 1st Gen, and occasionally my VCR, for transferring VHS to cd or computer. All I'm able to use/respond to the fire stick is input 5,6,7,8 yet i only have internet no input for the tv and the ht is on a optical the xbox hdmi, and it tweaks
Any Advise anyone truly appreciate it Thanks everyone keep up the amazing work
Same to you JD Santiago! When it's asking which input is your TV, it is asking on which input is the Fire Stick connected to the TV (like HDMI 1 or 2 etc.). Are those devices connected to the HDMI 5,6,7,8 or are they connected to 1,2,3,4? The HT-Z320 is using the Optical for the audio but for the video, you must be using the HDMI or RCA's to connect it to the TV. Which one? Now I am not sure what you mean when you say "it Tweaks". Give me a little more info please.
Hi,
I’m trying to figure out how to switch inputs but before you see the firestick Home Screen. On my Phillips smart tv I have to use the Phillips remote to select Fire Tv (hdmi 2) before i can use my fire remote. How can i pair my fire remote so i dont need the Phillips remote at all?
Hopefully this question makes sense…
If you connected the Fire Stick to your Philips TV, as long as HDMI CEC is enabled on your TV and your TV is the correct one in the Fire Stick Equipment Control, you should be able to use the Fire Stick remote to turn on or off the TV, control the volume and switch inputs without going first to the Fire Stick home screen. Check that the HDMI CEC is enabled on your TV, and also that the correct TV is in the Fire Stick settings > equipment control > manage equipment > TV > scroll down to Change TV, don't click on it. On the right side it should say the brand of the TV. If that is correct, press the back button once, go to Fire TV, click on it, and make sure it has a check mark on the correct HDMI port (HDMI 2). If all above is correct, then go back to TV and click on Change TV and redo the setup. Let me know how it goes.
That’s cool! If someone custom names their input in their TV settings to “Apple TV” or “Xumo” etc., will it also work if you say “switch to Apple TV”?
You will need to that within the Fire Stick Manage Equipment settings. Add "Apple TV" in Equipment Control and let the Fire Stick know which HDMI input Apple TV is connected to like HDMI 2. Then you can say Switch to Apple TV instead of HDMI 2.
@@DJsTutorials thank you!!!!
@@RND-USA You're welcome.
Hi. Can it be done through any button (instead of voice control)? Thanks
No, it can not.
@@DJsTutorials Thanks.
Having trouble getting off the cube input and back to HDMI1 (DirecTV). it always wants to go back to the cube (HDMI2).
Is the receiver (DirecTV) powered on when you try to switch inputs?
EXXXXXXXXXXXCELLENT! DAMMMMMMMMMMMM THIS IS SOOOOOOO THAT MOVE!
OK what if I have 2 tv's as monitors.. yes 2. Can I control / switch in the same fashion? Or would I need another fire device on both tv's. To do the same control/ switch ?
You will need another Fire Stick in order to control the 2nd TV. Now, if both TVs are the same make/model, it may be possible to use only one Fire TV Stick and switch inputs on both TVs at the same time since it uses the IR to do that and not HDMI CEC but I never tried it so I can't say for sure it will work. Just a thought.
Just got a Fire TV Stick 4K max and trying to connect to HDMI 2 on a Computer Monitor and need your help to tell me how to do this??
Are you trying to use the Monitor and the 4K Max is not displaying anything on the screen or trying to use the remote to switch to the HDMI 2 port?
Is there a way to use multiple hdmi output at once?
No you can't.
Thanks, it worked but couldn’t change antenna channels.
You are welcome. Yes, as of now you can not change antenna channels.
@@DJsTutorials Bummer. There's no point to switching to antenna using FS.
Question: I have an amazon fire tv and still have Direct TV as my cable provider. When I turn on my TV, rather than a TV station showing up, it's the Amazon home screen. To get to the TV station I have to go through, input to the HDMI (TV hooked to). How can I change this so my TV station appears and not the FireTV home screen?
If you mean your TV is a Fire Edition TV and not a Fire Stick that is connected to your TV, then you need to go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Power Controls > Power ON > and Select Last Input. If the last thing you had on before you turned off the TV was DirecTV then when you power on the TV it will be back on DirecTV.
@@DJsTutorials yes, that is what I have, is a Fire Edition TV. I'm helping my 80-yr old parents with their new TV so the TV is not in front of me. But I am going there tomorrow, so thank you (so much) for your quick response. I have another questions and am going to post it, that way if others have the same issues they won't have to look within this comment. Thank you so much!
Thanks! Great video and transcript. Unfortunately, it's telling me that it can't switch to that input. Oh, well. It is what it is.
Thank you! Which input are you trying to switch to that it won't let you?
Same here. Trying to go back to dish TV.
is there a way to switch it without using the microphone and voice control? can it be done by pressing buttons on the remote?
No there isn't at the moment.
I have a question. i have an LG tv & the volume works fine but when i ask it to switch to HDMI 1 the red IR light just pops up & nothing on the tv happens.
It sounds like you may need to remove the TV and then add it again. Which Fire Stick are you using? The light on my 4K, 4K Max, and Cube is Blue when switching inputs and not red and that's one of the reasons I recommend removing the TV and then adding it again. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
When I say "switch to HDMI input or whatever else input name " it says "hmm, i can't switch to that input, to see the supported inputs go to the device settings menu " help plzz
Hello. Your video is helpful. However the input is not working for me. I have a Westinghouse (not a smart TV) and the Input won’t work when I use voice control. Alexa says “I am not able to switch inputs). Is my TV not compatible
It is possible that your TV is not compatible with that feature but I would try removing the TV from Equipment Control and then add it again. Also, have you tried saying "Switch to Input # 1" instead of HDMI 1? Give that a try.
Another little trick that works for Roku TVs if you have a fire stick connected to one of your inputs. You can push the home button on your fire stick remote and it will switch to that input. If that doesn't work go to your Roku TV settings:
Settings > System > Control other devices (CEC) > 1- touch play (make sure this is checked)
Now from any app or input on your Roku TV you can switch to the fire stick input by pushing the home button on your fire stick remote. Keep in mind this may not work on some older models as the 1-touch play option may not be available. Also make sure your Roku TV and your fire stick are updated to their latest versions. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing that info with us. Since I don't own a Roku TV only a Roku player I don't really know how it works with other devices. Appreciate it!
No problem👍🏾
Hello and thank you for your video. Unfortunately, for me it says “hm, i cant switch to that input. To see the suported inputs go to the device menu”. I went there and the antenna input was available. Afterwards i tried switching to any other inputs like usb1 or hdmi2 and i got the same answear. Any ideas?
Some TVs you need to say "Switch to HDMI 1" and on other ones "Switch to Input #1" or "Antenna" and "Antenna Input". You may need to remove your TV from Equipment Control and add it again. Also, if you have a device (like a Xbox, Cable box) connected to one of the HDMI inputs like HDMI 2, then try adding it in Equipment Control and that way you can say "Switch to Xbox". What kind of TV do you have (Brand, Model, Year) if you don't mind me asking.
@@DJsTutorials thank you for your reply. When saying “switch to input 1” it indeed switched to my FireStick. But any other input number doesnt seem to work. Device is a Samsung KU series TV, from 2016 🫣
What is connected to the other inputs?
@@DJsTutorials i only have an usb storage stick on usb1, so basically there are only 3 inputs that are connected: tv/cable, hdmi1 which is the FireStick, and the HyperX Fury on usb.
As far as I know switching to the USB is not possible using the Fire TV remote. I will look into it and see if I can find out more information about it
My Roku tv has 4 inputs but on equipment control for the Firestick it only lists 3. I want to add my 4th input is there a way to add it manually or I’m just stuck with the 3. It’s showing the current tv as Roku which is correct
I'm not quite sure I understand the question. Are you trying to add another device in Equipment Control that is connected to the TV on HDMI 4 for example but the Fire Stick does not give you the option to select HDMI 4 port and only gives you the option to select HDMI 1, 2, or 3 which are already used by other devices?
@@DJsTutorials exactly
@@devinespinoza7117 Ok, try this. If HDMI 4 is the one that you are trying to add another device to, move the Fire Stick to that HDMI port. Then try to add the other device again and set it to the HDMI port that the Fire Stick was connected. After that, go back to Manage Equipment > Fire TV > TV Input > and select HDMI 4. HDMI 4 should show in there for you, it does for me. Can't test it out other ways since my TVs only have 3 HDMI ports. Let me know if this works.
@@DJsTutorials Unfortunately no, I tried switching my Firestick from hdmi 2 to hdmi 4 and putting my Xbox into hdmi 2 and it connected but when going back to manage equipment and then fire tv it still only shows 3 inputs.
Useful, however I only have a two socket plug in.
Two socket as RCAs or HDMI?
@@DJsTutorials I meant the wall plug in.Problem solved.Plug my tv into a extension cord.Thank you.
Hi. Have an Amazon fire TV (bought it on prime day 2022). Also have DirectTV cable. Can't seem to turn on the TV (anymore) with the Direct TV remote and it seems the only way to turn on the TV is by speaking to the FireTV remote. This frustrates my father (parents are in their 80's) and he is ready to return it. Is there a way to use one of the remotes to turn on, turn off the tv by pushing buttons rather than speaking to it? Thank you!
As far as I know, the Fire Edition TVs do not support "Equipment Control" but not sure about the 2022 models. You should though be able to use the remote from DirecTV to turn on and off the TV. You may need to program it first in order for it to work. Now with that said, one thing that you have to do on the Fire TV, is to go to the Settings > Display & Sounds > Power Controls > and select under "Power ON" Last Input. That way, when you turn on the TV using the remote from DirecTV, the TV will be on that input (like HDMI 1) as long as that was the last thing they were using. If they went into an app on the TV like Netflix, then it will show the Fire TV home page instead of HDMI 1 and they will need to go to Inputs and change to the input that DirecTV is connected to. Hope this helps!
@@DJsTutorials I will be trying all the steps you gave me tomorrow. Thank you so much for your quick response. You have a new follower...me.
@@VenusInvestigations You are welcome! Let me know how it goes.
I was able to use the Amazon Fire TV remote to have the TV turn on to TV (last input) I think I found it under Sound and Displays or equipment control..basically I followed the steps you said in your video. YAY! But could not get the remote to turn on/off the TV. Amazon TV tech said its a 'bad' remote as it could not do that or change the TV channel, so their sending a new one-should arrive today. Either way, my parents are SO HAPPY about how the TV turns on now. Thank you so much!
Is it possible to switch inputs on you AVR with the fire tv remote?
Not sure but definitely going to try it and let you know.
@@DJsTutorials thank you
@@stevenziegler2523 Unfortunately there is no option to switch inputs on a AV Receiver. Only the Power and Volume control is possible. But that would of been a great option! I am trying out the Sideclick Remote Attachment which may be an option for what you are looking for. You can find it on Amazon for about $26
@@DJsTutorials thank you for trying
You're welcome Steven!
for what reason would this not work? is it the type of tv? i just bought a new fire stick but cannot change the input which is one of the main reasons i got this remote as i don’t have a remote for the tv and thought this would fix two problems but now i still have to press buttons on my tv to switch hdmi
For some people in order for them to switch inputs on their TV they have to say "Switch to Input #1" and for others when they say "Switch to HDMI 1". Give that a try.
@@DJsTutorials the problem here is that old TV remote's enter/ok button is defunct. While the command works, sometimes you still need the tv remote to hit the Enter/ok button. Will the Fire TV stick remote work in that case?
@@dushyantsahni No it won't work that way. You are probably better off getting a universal remote.
Mine won’t switch back to my regular T.V. which is the AV input on my TV remote.
Also, I can’t switch from TV to Fire TV by pressing the HOME button on the remote. It works on the other TV. I don’t get it.
You may need to change a setting in order for the Home button to bring you to the Fire TV home screen. Go to Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > Advanced Settings > Home Button > and change it from HDMI-CEC Only to IR and HDMI-CEC
For me it says cant switch to this input go to devices settings to see supported inputs
You can try changing the way you say the command and see if that works. Instead of saying switch to HDMI 1, 2 or 3 try switch to Input 1, 2 or 3. If that doesn't work, you may need to add all your other devices that are connected to the TV in "Equipment Control". That way instead of saying switch to HDMI or Input 1 you can say switch to Blu-ray. Let me know how it goes.
Mine won't switch hdmi input, using 4k fire stick on aiwa tv and I have removed tv already, would appreciate some help, tyia.
For some, it works when they say "Switch to HDIM 2" and others when they say "Switch to Input number 2". Give that a try.
@@DJsTutorials it continues to tell me that it's not supported, no devices show up when I try to add them, only receiver or speaker. I have my ps5 plugged into HDMI1 and the stick on HDMI2. If I say switch input my source does get changed by 1 so I'm using that as my solution at the moment but I can't specify where I want to go which us annoying if I have other things plugged into my tv
@@DJsTutorials omg the video was helpful but it didn’t work on my tv but reading your answer response to their question it totally worked for my Vizio tv and I wanna say thank you from this girl in 2023 I’m so happy it worked 🥰🥰🥰🥰

@@DJsTutorials thank you

I tried saying switch to input 1 and switch to input 2 and hdmi 1 and hdmi 2 and it didnt work. What should i do now?
Some people had to remove their TV and add it again in order for it to work for them. Give that a try.
what if your mute? or dont want to have to talk into a remote? mine wont work anyway amazon should just make it a option to click 2 buttoms at the same time to pull up the imput menu
That's a very good point. Yes I agree that they should add a button combination or a dedicated button or even allow to remap one of the buttons.
Before if i was on hdmi4 and i hit the home button, it was sending me back to the firetv source now is not doing it anymore 😕
Try this. Go to Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > Advanced Settings > in there, make sure "Power On Input" is set to Fire TV and change "Home Button" from IR and HDMI to HDMI - CEC Only. Let me know if that helped.
Hello every time I say switch to hdmi input 1 it says “I can’t switch to that input check system settings” and I followed your tutorial and tried again and it still said can’t switch input check settings so do you know what I should do
Try saying "Switch to HDMI 1" or "Switch to Input 1" and not "Switch to HDMI Input 1". See if that works.
@@DJsTutorialshello sorry for the late reply I tried saying switch to input 1 and switch to hdmi input 1 but nothing worked do you know any other solutions?
@@Sonicfan2227 If you say Switch to HDMI 1 (without adding the "INPUT" part) and that doesn't work, go to equipment control, manage equipment, and change the TV like I show in the video. Add the TV again and try again. Let me know how it goes.
@@DJsTutorials will do
@@DJsTutorials did not work unfortunately if you know any other ways, please tell me but thank you I really appreciate your time.
Bro my fire tv equipment control remote not support
I’ve tried this, doesn’t work. I say “switch to HDMI 2”, The fire stick says “ok” then stays on HDMI 1. I’ve tried CEC, adding equipment (which doesn’t work either)
You tried to add your TV in Manage Equipment and it won't add it?
I'm doing a channel scan but it's not picking up any channels.and my antenna is new
The Fire TV Stick will not pick up any channels from an antenna unless you use a Fire TV Recast which is an Over The Air DVR that you can connect your antenna too and by using your home network, you can watch over the air channels like your local channels using any Fire TV Stick device.
@@DJsTutorials I was using antenna on it before I always watch my local station through the antenna.so I do t understand what u saying antenna was working on it before .im asking from jamaica
Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about your TV is not picking up any channels with the new antenna? Nothing to do with the Fire Stick right?
Hello, when I tell it to switch it does not switch inputs and says *I'm not quite sure what went wrong* Can anyone help?
Try removing the TV from Equipment Control and then add it again. Another thing you can try is say "Switch to Input Number 1" instead of "Switch to HDMI 1".
It works for me to get to another input but I can’t switch back
So if the Fire Stick is lets say on HDMI 2 and you say switch to HDMI 2, it won't switch but if you say switch to HDMI 1 it will?
I did everything but after I went to Antenna Input, it got stuck and wouldn’t go back or go to HDMI 1 or any other channel. I don’t know what to do
On some TVs you have to use the word "HDMI 1" and on others "Input 1" in order for it work. Also you can try turning off HDMI CEC and restarting the Fire Stick and turning it back on. Let me know how it goes.
😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hey new sub here why won't this work on my new fire stick 4k max I've tried everything still can't get it to work any help appricated
Appreciate the sub. Thank you! Sometimes you need to remove the TV and add it again in order for it to work. If you have something connected to one of the HDMI ports like a Cable box or Game Console, you may want to add it to Equipment control and then all you need to say is "Switch to Xbox". Try saying "Switch to Input 1" instead of HDMI 1.

How to do this on Apple TV?
Sorry I do not own an Apple TV so I can not answer that question.
A Sideclick works as well.
Yes it does. That would be helpful for people that want to get rid of their TV remote and just use the Fire Stick remote since the Sideclick will allow them not only to change inputs but TV/Cable channels as well. Thank you for the suggestion! I'm actually going to order one and test it out and see how well it works. Thank you Ivan!
How do you switch back to the firetv? No firestick?! 😩
You have a Fire Edition TV not a Fire Stick?
@@DJsTutorialsCorrect. I just did a factory reset 😩
When I watch air tv for a couple shows and then try to switch to the firestick I get no signal error any help
If you press the HOME button on the Fire Stick remote, does it still give you that message? It sounds like the Fire Stick goes to sleep mode when you switch to antenna.

I don't believe so but I haven't tried it out with a none smart TV to say for sure.
@@DJsTutorials thank you. Guess I'll be trying it out by returning my firestick lite and exchanging it for the one that has the power button. Hopefully it'll work.

Does this not work for my notsmart hisense? 😞 I have tried adding equipment and it doesn’t work, I have tried simply saying “switch inputs” where I see the input screen pop up and Alexa goes up one to component but nothing happens. I have tried “switch to hdmi 3” where she says okay but nothing happens (she’s on hdmi 1) I don’t understand. 😭
You may need to say "switch to Input #1" for HDMI 1 instead of "switch to HDMI 1". Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
@@DJsTutorials It did not work 😞 She says can not switch to that Input for that, I think my tv is just not compatible
Is your TV set up with the Fire Stick? If it's not or even if it is, try setting it up again like I show in the video at 1:35.
@@DJsTutorials It was set up, but I did try it again, and it still comes up with the “here are some things you can try” screen, because the >> button does not return me back to the firestick like it should. Unfortunate too, since this was the only reason I got a newer fire stick 😞
Edit; forgot to mention that yes, my remote was pointed at my TV
Are you able to turn on/off the TV and adjust the volume with the Fire TV remote?

And a sound comes when I tap Menu button to change input but nothings happens, no new screen appears . PLease help me out 😭😭
What is connected to the input you are trying to switch to? If it is a game console, cable box, or DVD/Blu-ray player, try adding it to Equipment Control ( Go to Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > Add Equipment) and then say, for example: "Switch to Blu-ray".

@@dennisgoatimer1079 When you go to "Add Equipment", you should see "PlayStation" as an option to select to add. Choose that, and as you will see on the right side description, all you have to do after you finished setting it up, just say "Switch to PlayStation". Let me know how it goes.
@@DJsTutorials It's not there after I go to add equipment it's just receiver and soundbar then it asks what brand just like it did for the TV bit.
@dennisgoatimer1079 if you don't see it that means there's either one already set-up under "Manage Equipment" or another console like Xbox in there. You will need to remove it first in order to add the Playstation
It says it cant switch to that input and ive tried a million things but nothing ever works

How to switch tv source with remote and not voice
You can't unfortunately.
Went through the steps several times and it is not working. I cannot get it to switch to HDMI two.
Some TVs you need to say "Switch to HDMI 1" and on other ones "Switch to Input number 1" or "Antenna" and "Antenna Input". You may need to remove your TV from Equipment Control and add it again. Also, if you have a device (like a Xbox, Cable box) connected to one of the HDMI inputs like HDMI 2, then try adding it in Equipment Control and that way you can say "Switch to Xbox". Let me know if that helps.
First , you go in Equipment and you did tv change for who wants to ad tv but you didn't say nothing about who doesn't wanna ad one more tv , 2- i like to change input when Iam on my tv home page to go to fire stick input , if Iam on firsticke home page why I need to change input? 3- didn't work at all
The reason I showed in the video how to change/add your TV is , in order to change inputs, you need to have the correct TV connected to the Fire Stick, Once you have the correct TV in Equipment Control, then you can switch inputs from Fire Stick to another input on your TV (like if you have a Blue-ray player or Xbox on another input) or from another input on your TV (Xbox or antenna) to the Fire Stick input. Now with that said, some TVs you need to say "Switch to Input number 1" and on other TVs "Switch to HDMI 1".
My alexa says ok when i ask but it doesn't change what do i do
If you say Switch to Input number 1, say Switch to HDMI 1 instead. Also make sure your remote is pointing to the TV and nothing is blocking the IR of the TV, like a soundbar that is to high. Another thing to check is that the TV is the correct one under Equipment Control. You may want to try redoing the TV setup by selecting Change TV. Can you control the volume of your TV and turn it on and off with the Fire Stick remote?
@@DJsTutorials now it's saying it can't switch to that input
Did you just try saying it different or did you change the TV under Equipment Control?
@@DJsTutorials I said it differently and I switched it now she's just saying ok again
When you change inputs using your TVs remote, do you have an on-screen menu that comes up and then you need to scroll to the right or down to get to the input you want to change and the you press the OK button?
Using a 3rd gen remote and LG TV, it’s not working for me.
Try saying Input #1 instead of HDMI 1
@@DJsTutorials thanks. That gets me “Hmmm. I can’t switch to that input.” I tried it for inputs 2 and 3 which both have valid, working devices connected.
That is odd. Is there anything blocking the infrared receiver of the TV by any chance, like a Soundbar? Was the Fire Stick set up with that TV or was connected to it after?
@@DJsTutorials nothing blocking at all. This is the only tv the Firestick has ever been plugged into, and if I go into settings it indicates the correct brand of tv.
I noticed that if I go into the settings where you can assign a device name to an hdmi port (“Blu-ray,” etc.), it says it needs to momentarily switch to each assigned device (to verify its there I guess) but then it says it’s unable to switch to them. Presumably it’s the same problem showing up there.
I previously had a Comcast dvr/cable box connected to the hdmi port that Firestick is now connected to. The remote for that cable box never had any trouble switching the ports on the tv.
I don’t know how this fixed it, but going into Settings, removing the TV (LG in my case), and re-adding it resolved this. Now it works. Thanks for helping!
Its not working
It didn’t work for me 😢
You may want to try removing your TV and then add it again in Equipment Control. Also, try saying "Switch to Input one" instead of HDMI one. For some people that worked. Let me know.
