Thank you the video is very interesting, not the usual video about gear, a new camera... but a real photography talk :)
🙏
Inspiring list. James Nachtwey would have been a worthy candidate for it as well. Dan Winters is truly amazing, the creativity and also technical skillset is just a different league.
Good call!
AYP always hitting the nail on the head, thanks Marc and Dan, marvellous!
I worked on an ABC TV documentary about Douglas Kirkland. One of the nicest people I've ever met. And he went out of his way to make our shoot easy.
When it come to photos, please don't bore me-show me something I've never seen before.
Fantastic opportunity you had!
Very informative Dan.. I would really like to learn more from you about these individual photographers & their work. You’ve inspired me to hunt for some photo books & most of all take more photographs. Many thanks for your hard work!
Already a huge fan of some of these photographers. Thank you for this video. Super informative and inspiring.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This video is a gem!
🙏
Winters!! What a master.
👍
Short, but outstanding.
awesome!
Fantastic! more of these kind of videos please!!!
More to come!
I know the work of a few of these, but I am inspired and excited to check out the work of those I don't - superb video, the love of the subject is inspiring.
🙏
As soon as you said scale, I thought Salgado! You mentioned his meticulous planning and organizing which was driven mainly by his editor and publicist (his wife) as detailed in "Salt of the Earth". That speaks to his great choices in life as well as photography!
very true !
Dan is absolutely correct on haters. It's completely ridiculous! And insane .... Over saturated landscape! 😂😂 Speaking some great truths today.
👍
Thank you very much for creating inspiring content which help me to take my photography to the next level.
Great to hear!
Irving Penn paid homage to Chambi with World's In A Small Room. He used Chambi's daylight studio in Peru.
Wow great! Thanks to this channel I also discovered Maggie Steber. This is great content!
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very interesting. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great!
🙏
This was good... 👌
👍
Thank you so much for this video and the message. I wish the percentage of such videos was way higher compared to the gear-reviews and "what the hell is ISO?" :D
Great content
🙏
Great video 👌

Hello from Portugal. Have a nice weekend fellows,
Thanks, you too!
Thank you guys. Very good. You forgot to show us some photos of Trent Parke, though :) .
Next time!
I have guessed Dan Winters.
A monumental challenge -- thanks for not letting us get fat, self-satisfied and lazy.
🙌
6:54 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
Dan you need a MIc :) I couldn't watch it all because of the audio :( But Thank you!
He’s got one for his own videos
You're making it sound like limiting your location to Australia is extremely challenging. It's one of the most diverse, raw, beautiful and largest countries in the world. But okay.
Not limiting at all. If I had to choose a place to be locked that would be near the top of my list. My point is that I know NUMEROUS doc photogs who don't know their neighbors let alone their community, city, country, etc. Don't have to go far for good stories.
@@DANIELMILNOR505 Fair point. Including photogs crossing oceans just to copy others. But we can surely agree, you don't always choose your continent, let alone community. I'm not going to deny I'm not unfamiliar with some occasional dose of creative jealousy because I live in a rather greyish part of Europe. For example. It's not all-determining obviously and a first world problem, but it has its disadvantages.
I lost all respect for Haviv when he sold photos to Lockheed and BAE so they could use it for promoting how great they are. What a way to undo decades of work for a few bucks.
If you are taking this point then I"m not sure there will be any photographers left for you to like. Or brands for that matter. Read the GQ article about Patagonia that came out last week. What planet this writer lives on is beyond me.
Can we just let Daniel to run the show please?
Complains about haters in photography.
... Hating on young photographers for not being original enough for him.
