How amazing for me to hear the voice of my darling papa Pipe major Willie Ross I have so many pieces of memorabilia --I spent my childhood visiting his class room as we lived with him at the castle & the sound pipes still reduce me to tears the Cairn Finlay Macrae had erected for my papa in Glen Strathfarrar is visited by pipers all over the world --for they play their pipes to honour him --

His father’s sentiments bring tears to my eyes as I also learned (better) by ear and mouthing the music as I still have difficulty reading the note values... but give me a recording with sheet music and I can pick it up in a snap.
I was called a “mimic bird” by one PM...as he wanted me to learn a series of tunes in a couple weeks without providing a sound sample (old tape recorder days)
We all learn differently. Later teachers embraced my methods

Fascinating, although I don't think this is an interview as such. He seems to be reading from a prepared script.
