  • Bonobibi | Coke Studio #bangladesh | Season 2 | Meghdol X Jahura Baul
#Bonobibi is a manifestation of the protective, healing, and nurturing traits of mother nature. In Bangladeshi folklore, she has protected forest dwellers from the paws of Dakshin Rai who used to shapeshift as a tiger. Even today, we witness how nature has nurtured the lives of this beautiful delta we call home. Beyond the chaos of urban life- a part of our hearts still yearns to go back to our lores, legends, and fables we have grown up with.
Bangla music soundscape is not complete without the enriched Bangladeshi Rock Band- and Meghdol binds that soundscape and lends a beautiful space to the wisdom of “Khonar Bochon” (Khona’s Parables) which for hundreds of years taught us Bengalis the way of life bound to nature.
This is why the utopian state of men & nature depicted by the famous artist S.M. Sultan finds its way back to our sets, as have the sounds of grains and dheki- that symbolize the life of Bangladesh.
Our stories, fables, our sounds, strength and grains embody the magic in us- and that is #realmagic

What do you mean Bangla and Bangladesh are same? Bangladesh is only half of entire Bangla. Bangla consists of West Bengal, Bangladesh, Tripura and Barak Valley. Also the musicians here are from all parts of Bangla.

@Nafis Nawal I said Coke Studio Bangla and Bangladesh is the same. Not the geographic Bengal or greater Bengal.
Uncle MoMo earlier thought these are two different coke studio. Hope you understand the context.

@@md.shahriar501 "Coke Studio Bangla and Bangladesh is the same" and "Coke Studio Bangla located in Bangladesh" directs to completely different perspectives. So I think you want to edit the statement.
There is a very good reason why they named it after the language instead of location. Some virtual boundaries made out of fanaticism and racism can't define a nation. So, we must get rid of the idea of political boundaries when we're talking about a language or a culture which are actually related to ethnicity instead of geography. Coke studio Bangla represents entire Bangla regardless of wherever it's located.

আংকেল মোমো Uncle Momo, actually in Bangla Uncle is Kaka কাকা brother of father and Momo stands for one type of staffing food in Chinese. Obviously in accents or pronunciation sometimes the words also lose its original feel or meaning... Meghdoll মেঘদল a band, Johora Baul (Zohora Bawl got this type of pronunciation) thanks for your reaction... The song, actually will give you a flavour of original indigenous flavour of Bengal.

Baul should be pronounced like Baa-Wool. Bauls are traditionally the wanderers who writes their own folk songs concerning mysticism, love etc. In some way they are kind of nomads but not in groups may be.

So I’m going to try remove all the confusion with the names, for the Indian subcontinent anyway. What we today know as India, Bangladesh and Pakistan used to be known as Hindustan, this was a collection of nations such as Bengal, Punjab, Gujarat, Tamil etc.
When it was colonised by the British it became known as the 'British Raj'. After they left (rather kicked out) the different nations of Hindustan decided to split into two countries, Pakistan for muslims, India for Hindus and others - an event known today as 'The Partition'. While most nations stayed intact during this partition, Punjab and Bengal however did not. These two nations were divided (an east side and west side) half of Bengal joined Pakistan the other half joined India, and the same for Punjab.
Thus today you have a Punjab in Pakistan and a Punjab in India. Bengal however is a little different, the east Bengal state that was part of Pakistan (lets say revolted over mistreatment) and became the independent country of Bangladesh. West Bengal still remains a state of India, hence the reason why you have the two Bengals speaking the same language living the same culture but belong to two different countries.
Moreover, because of the multiple nations involved, it it much easier if you think of India like the EU - a collection of nations acting as one country. And the reason for so many different languages and cultures in one country.

@@UNCLEMOMO There is an old saying, if you walk past a river and see two native fishes fighting, you know an English man must of past here :)
Won't speak for the Punjabis, but the two Bengalis nevertheless have no animosity due to the immense love and passion they share for their Bangla language and culture. Nor did they want to split Bengal during partition, but the British were having non of it.

Bonobibi can be translated as the Goddes of tthe Jungle/ Forest. In this case the Character is associated with a folklore of the world's largest mangrove forest area named Sundarbons/ Sundarbans that is having footprint in Bangladesh (larger part) and Eastern India (smaller part). Sundarban is the home of the famous Royal Bengal Tiger. Poor people of the adjacent areas are dependent on honey collection and wood collection from Sundarbans. Irrespective of religion, these poor people prays to Bonobibi for protection before entering the forest.

I really do not understand this thinking, we literally click reaction videos to see and hear the thoughts of the individual of a song - not the song itself. If you want to hear the song uninterrupted you can do so in the main channel. Maybe watch the song uninterrupted in the main channel first then come back and watch the reaction video.
Please do not change the style, otherwise it will just be a repeat of the music video with thoughts after, and no longer a reaction video.
