The easiest way to explain how we in the uk feel about each other is think of it as four brothers that don't like each other, but if someone out starts trouble we're there for each other.

I'm honestly surprised that these types of videos never mention the British abolishing slavery around the world, for everyone, as number 1 reason every single time.
It seems like such a massive echo of an issue even today, yet the British are never celebrated for ending slavery. In many cases you'll still see people online blaming the British for slavery, as if they started it.
Portugal was one of the first to have slaves and one of the last country’s to stop the trade thanks to Britain
The british put an end to the open slave trade, not slavery. There are more slaves now then there ever has been. Roughly 1 in every 200 people are victims of slavery.

The British did NOT abolish slavery around the world for everyone. The first country to abolish slavery was Haiti, in 1804, the same year it became a country. Britain had zero impact. The Haitian slaves successfully revolted against the French colonisers and declared themselves a country. Slavery was abolished in Haiti 29 years before it was abolished in Britain. Interestingly, slavery was never legal in Britain; no law was ever enacted to legalise slavery (see Somerset v Stewart, (1772) 98 ER 499).

I've lived in England all my life and I find the more north you go the more friendly people seem to get.
After spending the past week in the north I have to currently disagree with you but hey it’s just one example compared to loads :)
I found people are friendly all over the country as long as you are not being a jerk, I believe the north/south thing comes from London which is its own beast entirely, Cornwall, Devon Somerset, Kent Sussex all these southern places are full of friendly people.
Before anyone from the North gets upset all my family come from Consett Co. Durham and yes northerners are friendly & outgoing but so are a lot of southerners.
Well I'm in Dorset and we are very friendly however I do agree. I went to London never again no Good morning,smiles rude and stand offish. I have never before said Good morning and just have people simply ignore you awfully rude.

I can confirm, duing my first visit to London (2003) I had my life threatened for not giving someone a cigarette, didn't matter that the reason I couldn't give one was that I was a non-smoker, the guy wanted one and threatened to kill me for not giving him one. This was literally the first person I interacted with in London after 2 hours by train then a tube ride, then a bus ride to my destination in Clapton, Hackney. Got off the bus and encountered this 👍🏽
Would say we hate each other when it comes to sport if it's separated by country e.g. football/soccer but then we love each other when we compete together e.g. Olympics. A common joke about Andy Murray the tennis player is that he's British when he wins and Scottish when he loses.
I would argue that Andy Murray is British, because in the Davis Cup, our national team is British and he plays for that.
In some other sports such as Football, the national teams are Scottish / English / etc.
In Cricket, Scotland is both the national team and an English county team. It is mostly made up of people with dual nationality for sporting purposes who aren't good enough to play for India / Pakistan / etc.
I’m Scottish and have worked all over the UK - we don’t hate each other….. except when the football is on, and even then, it’s only banter.
As for castles, there is one on my street. My house is 189 years old and was built when William IV was on the throne, but it still feels modern compared to the castle lol! Everywhere you go in the UK, you are face to face with history 💗

I've lived here in England for the majority of my life (60 years) I've also lived in NI and abroad. The people I've met throughout the UK have been exceptional, friendly and very helpful... even people I've met while living in London. I am very much a flag waving, proud Brit, I love it here... and regardless of what some say, we really haven't got it that bad here.

Thank you Karina, i have travelled quite a lot, I'm 72 now, i have always received a good welcome wherever I have gone, the one comment i have always received from people, is that how friendly I am, but i have always said, that works both ways, while i would not leave UK, there are people all over the world i would regard as a brother or sister, it's wonderful to hear people speak about the positives in where all our blessings lie, much love to you beautiful soul xxx

From the north west of England, i can drive 15 mins down the road to Wigan and hear a different accent, and 20 mins the other way and i hit scouse.
As for the beauty or some of shore lines, well, they're truly our hidden gems.

I grew up near Wigan and the accent changes so quickly, even going up to Blackburn/Burnley way it changes again. I lived in Leeds and in Bradford in my 20's and there were subtle difference between those 2 cities. I was bemused when I first heard a Pakistani taxi driver say to me "Where you going love!" in Bradford.

As a Scot, I don't hate any other nation, but I do hate being ruled by numpties in parliament and wholeheartedly want independence, but I guess if most English folk had another option, they would take it too lol.
It was English government that phased out our own language being taught in schools here, I want us to be ruled by our own people, with the same national identity as me.

No I don't think we hate each other, and as England is 86% of the population of the UK we tend just just get on with our lives without chip on the shoulder nationalism.
Hate is such an over used word. I have worked for some time in Scotland and Northern Ireland, dealing with the general public and I have never come across anyone who wasn't friendly and helpful, I've only had holidays in Wales but the people there to are nice.

I'm from Northern Ireland and we're known for our friendliness. We have plenty of castles and ruins, gorgeous scenery and beautiful beaches 💚

It’s very pleasing for us Brits to hear someone such as yourself being so positive about the UK. I’ve travelled to other parts of Europe, and too the USA and Canada and have enjoyed all of them but count myself as a proud Brit, having been born here and lived here all my life. I was born in England and married a Welsh lady and now live in Wales, about 3 miles from the castle shown at 9:45 into your video. Such a great place, which I consider myself so lucky to live in. The UK is a great place to live, and I wouldn’t move anywhere else in the world. I hope you get the chance to visit our great country sometime.

@@billybobhouse9559 The castle I mentioned (shown at 9m:45s and again at 9m:55s in the video) is Conwy Castle, at Conwy in North Wales. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with the Town Walls which surround the town. It’s an amazing historical site in a beautiful location.

I work in Liverpool but live in Arrowe Park which is just a 30 minute bus drive away and people always pick up on my different accent and ask where I’m from XD

The guy in the video didn't once mention Welsh, Scots or Irish when talking about the Language part. He only spoke of English and it's different accents/dialects. When talking about castles he only mentioned the 4000 castles in England and not any of the castles in either Scotland, Ireland or Wales. Watch the video again and take note of how many things he listed in England about a point but then doesn't mention any specifics about the other 3 countries. May as well have titled the video "10 Reasons Why The UK is the BEST Country in the WORLD but I only mention ENGLAND".

In his defense he does mention the scenery in Scotland being notably better(which is true), but I agree the languages should have been mentioned instead of if not in addition to the international accents he included.
I lived in the US for 11 years (west coast and in the mid west plus a few months in Florida). At first I found it fascinating and exciting but after a while the feeling of lack of safety (crime/gun violence as well as lack of/poor provision of health care and few workers' rights) took it's toll on me over time and, quite frankly, the personal cost of living in the US began to far outweighed any meagre benefits so I decided to return to Europe. While I'm glad I got to experience the US, I wouldn't trade what we have on this side of the pond for what y'all have over there.

If you like castles and beaches, you should visit Wales. Wales has the most castles per square mile of any country and amazing beaches.
True. Within 20 mins drive of where I live I can count 7 castles (off the top of my head), including some big ones like Conwy, Caernarfon, Beaumaris etc
I live in London I used to go to Wales every other year to holiday and Cornwall, yes it's beautiful, you also have the world's best singers in my view, why are the Welsh so good at bloody singing

The narrator was no different to many documentaries I have seen above The UK. Scotland, Ireland, and Wales rarely gets a mention.

You could argue the UK is relatively safe because most of us aren't in the habit of carrying guns or other weapons around with us, but that's very simplistic and only a small part of the story: we feel safe in each other's company because most people adhere to unspoken, unwritten standards and values of what's right and wrong. That might seem like an obvious statement - but if I were to suggest the greatest emphasis of that statement is the "What's right" bit, perhaps you'll see that far too often, people just concentrate on the "what's wrong" part! The fact is that, when the vast majority believe that others have as much right to live, to be reasonably comfortable, to have peace, to be healthy, to not be abused, to have a secure place they can call home, to have work and income, to be able to go where and when they please, and to have the assurance that in emergency, even strangers will notice them and care for them - well, there's not even the same need to worry about what's wrong! Out of all the larger cities in the UK, Edinburgh is generally regarded as the safest, with even lone women being able to walk down shady cycle routes through former railway cuttings and the like, without too much concern for their personal safety.
I live in Northern Ireland and the church closest to me was originally built in 501 AD The original steeple is still there and some of the wall that surrounds it is original 🤯

When I lived in England the places where I lived and worked and the countys small city formed roughly a triangle with the 3 places around 8 miles apart. All 3 places had slightly different accents. It was subtle but there.
same around my area Warwickshire, the accents change ever 10 miles

I was born near a castle too, about half a mile from Hastings castle ...which dates from 1066 and is now mostly ruins. (Damn windy and wet down here in the winter, lol!)

About the weather thing. Past few months the uk did had droughts throughout the country, wild fires some parts, flooding.
Not so - the North West of the country has been grey, overcast and damp since New Year. There were occasional weeks in which the sun shone in a clear sky for a few days.

I lived in Poland, then 6 years in Italy and now in the UK for 6 and from a third perspective I can say that people in many countries could also pin these reasons to their country :) go to Rome, Berlin, Madrit or Moscow and you will hear that they are the champion of the world :) it's good to think: I'm not worse than others, but to think I'm better than everyone else smells stupid
You DEFINITELY NEED to come visit the uk. If you can’t afford it right now I’m sure if you set up a go fund me or patreon or something then your fans could help to find you coming to uk. Especially if you did a meet up while in uk.
I think it's best if Americans come as part of a European tour. Paris is so close to London as is most European destinations. Justifies that costly transatlantic flight.

@@EmilyCheetham Of course , there's always loads to see especially in Britain. I was just saying it could be possible to also see Paris and madrid, barcelona, Rome etc just because they are so close. It's doable. Also it would make some Americans more keen. Even if they just did london, Edinburgh and Dublin I'm just saying it's always good to make use of the huge distance Americans have covered to get to Europe not to utilise the proximity to mainland Europe.

@@stephenreeds3632 no not everyone can afford to go to America. There are friends and people I know who have never even left uk. Also there are Americans who can afford to come to uk. There are rich and poor in every country. America is huge that’s why it seems like there are more people who cannot vine to uk. I think it’s not entirely about money but about leave- or rather lack of in America. Brits have a mandatory 28 days paid leave. Even if it wasn’t at full pay we don’t get criticised but rather encouraged to use our leave. Being encouraged to leave brits want to get away on their leave. But many Americans just get discouraged to take their leave even if they are lucky enough to have paid leave. Or they are discouraged from taking 2 weeks off which is needed for a long trip abroad and told to only take 5-7 days. So less Americans per capita come to uk.

I live in East Anglia, an hour from London, but I'm lucky enough to have had holidays, all over Great Britain, I think the most beautiful landscapes, are in Yorkshire, I used to love going to London for shopping but I'm now a bit too old to cope with the underground, and I do miss it, London is a big Melting pot of different nations, and it lovely, I love living in the UK , I do have a daughter that lives in louissianna , and that's a lovely place as well .
My walk home from work every night is across the last piece of Richmond Palace. I work on Richmond Green which used to hold jousting in Tudor times. You fall over history everywhere you go here. Love the vids JT. Thank you xx

It’s incredible to see the differences from one county to the next and mainly due to who invaded what. We were controlled by the vikings for many years, as was northumbria, from that many of us do believe we have a different psychology to the south of england. Im scottish,forthe last 20 years ive lived all over england, my wife is english, from the south... we moved to the north of england few years ago, both our accents are completely different to one another and the local accent...
I’m Australian with Scottish parents so I have dual nationality, I lived in Scotland for 25 of my 45 years. I don’t disagree with anything on this list but I do prefer Australia. Mainly for the weather, beaches and the easier ability to make money. We do have a lot of inventions here in Australia too, I know you most do UK based videos but there is a great video on Aussie invention on CZcams you should check out. A video on UK inventions may be a bit long lol

I love the history here. I grew up on the Northumberland coast surrounded by castles, both standing and ruined. A natural borderland, English/Scotish, Roman/Pictish, land/sea We have 2000 year old buildings with central heating. You should come visit it's amazing :)
The castles and ruins here are stunning. I live a 5 minute walk from an old fort, it still has the canons there too! Everywhere has something special about it.
I'm English and have travelled to Scotland and Wales with no issues. The idea of the nations hating each other stems from times in history when England tried to subjugate Scottish and Welsh culture. One result of this is that Scotland and Wales have a much stronger sense of national identity than England as it's something they fought for in the past.
May be they meant the rugby rivalries.....

I love our humour. It's just so unique to us, but our Aussie/Kiwi friends come very close. I would also highlight the work of Sir Alec Jeffreys who changed the world with his DNA discoveries.

Saying the UK has a seat at the United Nations basically means we are recognised as a country, aka means nothing. The fact we are one of 5 nations in the Security Council of the UN, is a different matter, but is a detail seemingly unknown to the narrator.
Nobody thinks we're the best in the world, we're good at some stuff but in general we're not the best and we don't claim too be only our child nation thinks they are the best
10 accents, ok ours can be kinda cool i guess.. 9 scenery well New Zealand does it better Australian beaches miles better 8 means nothing really, it's cool having diff countries but not too much different to different US states that are far apart. 7 London big city huge for tourism and finances but so is Shanghai . 6 safety climate etc. Japan does it better in all of those aspects. 5 NHS is great, But Japans Health service is superior same with France's . 4 Universities/higher learning, I'll give UK this. 2 of the top 10 world wide ( Cambridge ,Oxford) for the countries size and population. 3 Castles and Ruins, Yes very nice but plenty of countries have this ( Greece comes to mind ) . 2. Discovery. well yes Empire helps for that. 1. Inventions, I'll give that to the UK as well China comes a close second as well as Germany for Mathematics.

England(and the rest of The UK) has given me 68 fantastic years living for 29 years just 2 or 3 miles from the heart of Central London and for the last 39 years,since 1983,I have lived just 11 miles away ,right on the periphery of South East London and Kent. I love the 4 Seasons,The Flowers( Daffodils,Primroses,Roses,ulips,Bluebells etc). The Sport has been brilliant and The BBC showed so much of it in my younger days,in particular. I love The Pubs,used to love The Clubs,The World famous Concert Halls and Theatres.The endless choice.. The Music and Comedy and banter have nbeen special to....that is just London,alone.The Countryside and Coast and endless Parks and Green space outside London are also great...
Good Reaction,My Friend.😀England(and the rest of The UK) has given me 68 fantastic years living for 29 years just 2 or 3 miles from the heart of Central London and for the last 39 years,since 1983,I have lived just 11 miles away ,right on the periphery of South East London and Kent. I love the 4 Seasons,The Flowers( Daffodils,Primroses,Roses,ulips,Bluebells etc). The Sport has been brilliant and The BBC showed so much of it in my younger days,in particular. I love The Pubs,used to love The Clubs,The World famous Concert Halls and Theatres.The endless choice.. The Music and Comedy and banter have nbeen special to....that is just London,alone.The Countryside and Coast and endless Parks and Green space outside London are also great...
The steam train seen early in video is a tourist attraction which does cross the Glenfinnan viaduct seen near end of video.
With history very many small and large villages have churches hundreds of years old, perhaps a thousand.
A later comment about trees older than USA, I have some of those a short walk from my home.
The commentator on the vid you watched said London is a concrete jungle 😂

We only have 3 species of snakes here only 1 of which is venomous, the Adder and then only mildly so and the others are Grass Snake and the Smooth Snake which are harmless to humans, I'm 62 and have never seen any of them. Our spiders are not harmful in the main but I know 2 people who needed antibiotics after a bite probably from a false widow but I don't think this is very common and it's venom is nowhere near as toxic as it's US cousin the Black Widow.
The white cliffs at 5:38 are just up the road from where I live. Called the Old Harry Rocks. Waled on there many times.
Ive moved round the UK (England specifically) since i was a baby and im currently living about 15 minutes away from an old family home and the scenes of malfoy manor in the HP films and around 30 mins away from a castle
As a British person, I don't find that we consider our own country to be the "best". In fact, it is far more common for the people around me to complain about it. For example, our health system is dysfunctional, with over 6 and a half million people waiting for treatment in a country with a population of 67 million. Our political system is similarly damaged, with multiple scandals and bad policy leading to a record low level of trust in our government and the strong likelihood of the government accounts getting even worse very soon. We also have the highest level of inflation in the G7, creating a cost of living crisis. There has also been, contrary to the video you were watching, growing worry about the safety of women on the streets, with multiple incidents of assault and even murder, most notably that of Sarah Everard. Finally, we have a productivity crisis which has been growing for decades and has meant that the UK has been consistently falling behind its economic potential.
This is just my own thoughts and views, of course.
The fact that we do complain so much is probably the reason why our country is the best in the world.

Beaches - we’re a series of islands. We have beaches all around us. On the mainland, nowhere is more than around 74 miles from the coast. That first beach is St Ives in Cornwall. Not only does it have a fabulous beach, but the light is exceptional so artists flocked there. It has its own Tate Gallery and a a sculpture museum. It’s a very relaxing place. On the south coast particular there are renowned surfing beaches. In Scotland you can come across a whit sandy beach - and there’s nobody else there!
The Isles of Scilly - that’s where the royals go for their UK holidays. Very small. Few cars. Very sunny. Lots of flowers. Quaint villages. Lovely beaches.

Another thing that makes the UK a great place to live is this: If you work full time (32 hrs over 5 days p.w) you are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks/28 days of fully paid leave per year. Depending on your employer this may or may not include the 8/9 days of National public holidays.
But most employers after 3 - 5 years as an employee or as an enticement during hiring actually offer their workers 6 weeks + 8 days of fully paid leave per year!
If you decide not to use all of your paid leave one particular year then you're legally allowed to rollover up to 4 weeks of your unused paid leave for up to 2 years.
On top of all that, UK employees take an average of 7 paid sick days off work per year which is pretty low; these sick days off don't come out of the paid leave days I've mentioned above.
Compare that to the rest of Europe who take an average of 22 - 24 sick days off per year!
Also the UK has given us the right to have up to 52 weeks maternity leave per year 39 weeks of which are paid at 90% of your usual average weekly pay.
Fathers are also entitled to 2 weeks of paid paternity leave...plus get this for amazing, Mothers can transfer/share up to 37 weeks of their paid maternity leave to the father if they want!
And I even think that the following is too much...mothers are actually entitled to take 2 consecutive paid maternity leaves!!!
I'm thankful everyday for being born in England, anyone born in Europe or the West pretty much won the lottery the day they were born.
The US is pretty amazing though, especially its size, variation of every climate etc. However, I think the culture of materialism and too much pride in "hard-work" is way out of balance. Over here in the UK & Europe people work to live instead of living to work. We can only afford to do that after fighting for the benefits we now enjoy like free healthcare, loads of paid time off. In the UK we also get a lot for our taxes and if you buy a house in the UK we don't have to pay $thousands every year in tax on our own land unlike the US.
Also US citizens still have to pay the US government tax on their income even if they've left the US to live and work abroad, so they end up taxed in 2 countries! Which is outrageous, I can't believe our American cousins let their government get away with this tyranny...they are only one of about 2 or 3 countries in the world who do this to their citizens...if you're born in the US or are even a dual national you can never escape paying taxes to the US government for the rest of your life even if you don't live there...unless you renounce your US citizenship, isn't that incredible?
I've always loved America & Americans from a child and dreamed of going to visit, which I did and absolutely loved it, even though I got mugged 2 mins from Times Square by Black dudes within a few hours of being there lol (but that's another story and my fault for being stupid).
So it hurts me to see your government taking the piss out of you all and giving you very little except an over the top military.
The US is the richest country on Earth. There's no reason why you guys can't afford to enjoy all the same benefits that every country in Europe considers as our basic rights!

When i use to train Police Officers we used Kenilworth Castle (just outside Coventry) as a training area! Fantastic place and we used to just run around it like Idiots!!👍

The reason the uk has so many different accents is that we are an older country than the US and there were no road networks so people learned to speak in there own way and didn't leave there towns and villages
The most important thing these lists never talk about is the people. We are not perfect and we fight and argue with each other over everything. But in general we live in peace.
7:02 The UK has more CCTV to police the streets and shops. In London you are always being filmed by security cameras. London is officially has the most CCTV in Europe. Even many private homes have a CCTV camera outside their door. Also The UK has GCHQ the security watchers of all calls and know where you cell phone is everyday. Criminals that carry their cell phone can't say they weren't there as the security services will pin point your cell phone as being in that location. Serious crimes will be solved with GCHQ intel requests. The 7/7 bombers in London were caught because there cell phones were listed as being in that location and monitored for the conversation to gather the entire gang responsible.
My son when he goes on holiday can check anyone that is knocking on his front door from wherever he is, usually Spain. I cat 😺 sit for him.
All mobile phones can be tracked, every so often they check where the nearest tower is
I like that some of the buildings are 100s of years old. You can live in a house that was built in the 11th century and next door will be one that was built 5 years ago!
I'm 62 and I can say I started at 16 with my mates, but it also helped with another that brewed her own milk-stouts and made home made wines too. By 18 I could drink a few 6 pintsof bitter or mild or a mix which is 50× 50 of both without

We have some beautiful beaches, we also have almost 8,000 miles of coastline, California has a little over 800, despite being 1.7 times the size of the UK, also nowhere in the UK is more than 70 miles from the coast and there are no dangerous animals in our seas either.
The only thing we keep an eye out for when we go for a hike is cow shit.
I live on Bodmin moor,Cornwall and it’s end to end shit,but I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
The beauty of our country is still a thing of wonder to me.
We might have loads of beaches and some (but not all) are attractive, but the water's always cold! Well too cold for me!

Standing on a boat is called 'Punting'. The most difficult part are the occasions (regular) when a novice forgets to let go of the pole as it goes through their hands and ends up clinging to it with the inevitable dousing to follow.

The south coast from Brighton to Bournemouth tends to have pebble beaches.

You may like this. I live in Norwich and we have a catholic cathedral, an Anglican cathedral, a castle and we have the old city wall which goes around the city of Norwich, although there are a lot of gaps.
Used to live down the road from a gorgeous 13th century(1222) ruins called Titchfield Abbey,give it a quick look 👀💜went to a Native American wedding ceremony there when I was younger, felt some MAD energy at one point....🤔💜

Hi JT here's the rule when looking at things that could be bridge's.
If it carries road traffic or people it's a bridge. If it carries water it's an aqueduct, but if it carries trains only, it's a viaduct.
We do have natural disasters, not on the scale of many other countries but we have floods, storms, floods, drought (most of the South of England is suffering from a drought at the moment) and we have brush fires the latest of which also burnt down several houses.
If we could sort out the crime problem, NHS being strangled to death, and get some politicians who weren't completely inept, then I'd agree with this.
We are lovely countries individually, greater together, but we're falling apart quickly due to things we're not allowed to talk about or we'll be arrested for some hate crime or another.
NHS is crap and needs to be got rid of. Look at Germany and France for their systems.

The Jacobite steam train runs from Fort William to Malliag in Scotland taking you over that very viaduct. I have been on this trip. If you ever go it is a worthwhile experience for sure.

Also, not having the type of natural disasters - not on a tectonic plate border, no volcanos, no hurricanes etc. I have experienced 2 mild earthquakes here, one was I think a 4.5, the other 5.1 and I mean they shook me up a bit (sorry for the pun) but no damage caused. And yeah, I lived in the inner city and I used to walk everywhere (before I became disabled) without hassle, although that is a city generally considered quite safe, but a rougher area within that city. Of course youth and stupidity will have played some part but still. Never felt the need to carry any weapon or anything like that.
20 minutes drive is a very different accent to where I am now. I once visited a friend who lived in an inner city very urban post-industrial type area and there was a hill kind of down the road, and at the top the remains of an old iron age fort! You stand somewhere like that and look out across the views and think of how many people over thousands of years have stood in that exact spot and looked out the same way, and wonder what they saw in their time.

The English are actually very fond of the Scottish Welsh and N. Irish. Don't think I've ever heard an English person speak down on any of them my entire life except in the form of friendly banter. But the vitriol I've heard from Scots, Welsh, and n. Irish towards the English is utterly vile.
And even then it's not even the whole of England they hate, but quite specifically those from the south. A northerner would be quite welcomed by even the most stringent anglophobes.
Basically if you speak the queen's English you're assumed to be posh and hated
It goes back generations on how the English treated the rest of us mainly by invasion and subjugation of said peoples and trying to destroy the culture of the other smaller countries I am welsh but also a proud British citizen I have no hatred towards anyone, at the end of the day we all live on the island of Great Britain.

The UK is incredibly safe. I leave for work before it's light in the morning and I am never afraid of being alone on the streets. Crime is exceptionally rare. I actually thought American women were just being weird when they said they worried about going out alone, but then I found out that they really do face horrific risks. Personal safety has never really been a thing I need to consider.
Its not all safe though since a lot of people carry knives

I work two blocks from a castle! We are traveling an hour away to visit another and the sea! The sea in Scotland is that beautiful cobalt blue but it is cold! xx
If you want castles you need to visit Northumberland in the north east of England. We have loads of them! Bamburgh castle is one of the best known but we also have dunstanburgh, lindisfarne, Alnwick, craster and so many more! Last year Harrison Ford was at bamburgh to film some of the latest indiana Jones movie, Alnwick was featured in Harry Potter, most notably the flying lesson with madam hooch in philosophers stone and the scene when they arrive at school in the chamber of secrets and the car goes off through the archway after throwing them out :)
