I'm betting my life savings on…OVER
Staley was literally THAT bad. The defense under Minter is going be at the least middle of the pack. That alone will get this team to 9 wins with Herbo as QB.
12-5 ! We win division!!!!! Go Chargers!!!
Too many people acting like the WR room has 0 talent lol
4-2 division and 11 Win record
same, plus a playoff win.
I'm a chargers fan... but I'd say 10 is the most real.
Herbert is 6-6. He came into the league at 237 - but he's added muscle (it shows), so he's probably between 240-245 now. He looks leaner than Josh Allen because Herbert's weight is more muscle. RE the WR corps - compare it to Green Bay's. No one elite #1 WR, but a depth chart deep in capable talent. Josh Palmer, Quentin Johnston (if he improves), McConkey, Chark, the son of Jerry Rice. Two TEs in Dissly and Hurst who are not premium pass catchers, but who can contribute. Herbert's corps of receivers may be better than anyone realizes.
I actually think this will make him better... he relied too much on Keenan imo because a lack of trust.... this forces him to use more guys. 150 targets on KA was just too many.
Actually, Herbert's corps of receivers are indeed better than anyone realizes. My guess is that Rice (X SE), McConkey (Y Slot) and Palmer (Z FL) will be starting and tearing up the league by their week 14 tilt with Kansas City as 11 personnel. For 12 and 21 personnel packages I think it will be Rice & McConkey as both are master route runners & separators with flypaper hands and the ability to block downfield. If Q and DJ are right then this could be a young WR room that rivals Green Bay's.
[edit] and keep an eye on Kimani Vidal. He plays like a smaller version of LT.
@@anti-classistrelied too much on Keenan? Herbert played more snaps without Keenan than with. Same goes with Mike Williams
@bongo.318 doesn't mean he wasnt used as a crutch too much last year.... 150 targets on 456 throws...
It's crazy I see no one ever mention Cornelius Johnson as well who just won a championship with harbaugh is also there harbaugh wouldn't have drafted him if he didn't have trust in his ability
The chargers WR room has gone from overrated to underrated
11 wins or bust! Playoff win wildcard weekend. Super Bowl next year. It's the RISE of the LIGHTNING!!!
Are yall even looking at the chargers schedule. There's only like 4-6 games that they could lose. Under my ass. We don't need an elite wr group we need capable wrs which is what we have.
Chargers lost so many games by a field or a touchdown. All under bad coaching and bad defense. Now they got a legit coach that knows how to win. Definitely over .500 team with a play off win his first season
Andrew luck and Alex smith did not run all over the field. They also brought in Mark Tressman to help design the passing game around Romans run heavy offenise. Like the running back room they are going with a pass by committee approach.
Chargers had a tougher schedule last year. The o line was bad, no running game. Had the 28th ranked d fence. They lost 5 games by 3 points or less. Lost 3 by 1 score and your under on 8.5 wins? I'm looking at an 11 wins or more.
Why are they not talking bout the DEFENSE??
The Chargers defense will lead the league in sacks and takeaways!! I get the WR talk.. but Palmer and Ladd will be the 1 and 2 punch with Chark getting the deep passes!! This will be a 11 or 12 win season!!
Almost every year for the last two decades, this team is supposed to be a contender to win the division or at least a playoff team. Since Marty was let go, there has never been a question with talent; yet every year they come up short of being mediocre. "They need a real head coach to win" is the most common response to this teams lack of results. Now that they have the coaching staff in place that people have been begging for, the media is fixated on the lack of star power. Its hilarious how bad these takes are. They've had star power and it had lead to nothing for two decades. Their issues are lack of discipline in the most important areas of the game: clock management, bad penalties, and poor decision making from top down. Harbaugh is the fix to that. I don't care who is on that team. If Herbert's defense lets up less than 25ppg, he wins over 70% of the games. Fuck the WR room, Herbert has what he needs. A run game so he doesn't have to throw 40-50 times a game and a defense that could at least be top 20.
Why does Steve look like Doug Demuro 😂
Pretty confident minimum wins are 11 the ceiling is about 13. Harbaugh magic will come to the chargers and make this team play at a high level immediately
I feel bad saying this as a fan but I hope we do bad this year with Roman, then Harbaugh hires Tanner Engstrand next season
People are sleeping on Josh Palmer like he doesn’t exist and didn’t have a 1K+ receiving season WITH Keenan and Mike Williams there and I LOVE IT!! 😂😂… Palmer, Ladd, and Chark are going to surprise people but mostly because Herbert can make any receiver look good and we’ve seen him do more with less talent before when Keenan and Mike were hurt at the same time and he still finished top 5 in passing yards
Agreed. Palmer sealed the October Raiders game with a 40 yard contested catch. But then he went out with injury for 6 weeks, so his stats look bad to uneducated Charger fan base.
Beautiful GOD watching everything you do.
Blessings forever beautiful GOD and Jesus loves y'all forever. teach everyone you know and don't know.
Herbert to McConkey FTW.
12-5 division winners
The way i see it, the chargers probably couldve gone 8-9 wins last season with some combination of no herbert injury, moderately better luck in late game situations, and one or two less major injuries (ie no mike williams season ender in week 3, bosa playing more games and not being injured in the games he did play, josh palmer not missing like 7 weeks, corey linsley not having heart problems starting week 3, etc etc) and that was with, imo, one of the biggest football terrorists helming the ship. I really do think the roster, at this stage, is better than the roster we played most of the season with (no mike williams, no linsley, etc etc) and the coaching staff on defense and at the HC position will be a ginormous upgrade almost no matter what because its hard to get worse than a bottom 5 defense while also having the most expensive defense in the league. With that in mind, imma have to hammer the over barring like an early herbert season ending injury, but then we are winning like 3 games lol, so what's the point.
Over
11-6
12 Wins. Because of HARBAUGH
Razzberry...
8.5 for Jim Harbaugh lol.
I think they get to 9 or 10 wins just on the back of their defense not being complete trash and maybe holding onto a lead in the fourth quarter for once.
10-8 calling it now. Split all Divisional games
there’s only 17 games…
@@tayche1 OK then … 11-8
@@chrism.1131 that's still 18 bro
@@tayche1 i meant 17 "honest to god" but I have a no correction policy on things like that. I own my brain farts.
@@DerekForde please correct me if I'm wrong… 11+8 = 19.
I think we go 9-8 this year
What has Lamar done in the playoffs? Nothing! He’s been a season winner
The Chargers would be stupid to have Herbert become a runner unless their actions - signing/drafting RBs and O-lineman - don't pan out. Even if that happens, Herbert will dump off short passes rather than risk injury. The receivers are going to surprise a lot of people this season. This entire conversation revolves around the belief that coaches are locked in to their past behaviors and are unable to adjust to the talent around them Harbaugh is not Sean Payton.
The Chargers are NOT the media darlings all the idiot talking heads like Bart Scott say before every season. They also are NOT a 5-12 team! This season 8-9 or 9-8 is realistic depending on the production they can get from the WR core. Also, how Minter can improve an awful defense without much meaningful new blood…
Dude is smoking crack😂
6-11
