You know, it's moments like this that you realize that Rick loves being a scientist. I mean, just look at the sheer joy he expresses in realizing that he has come across something he doesn't already understand, and how gleeful he is in experimenting with it.
Never thought about it that way but your right. It’s why citadel Ricks were suffering is because your giving up on your dreams.
@@Phantom19913no wonder he didn’t respect them lol
He’s out here living… well, not his best life, but he’s trying to have fun, meanwhile here’s a bunch of him being factory workers and office drones.
That’s more than likely the part of Rick Diane married.
Guess that's what life's all about, learning new things and discovering the unknown. Course, when you know everything, nothing really seems to matter much. In this rare instance, rick found something even he didn't know nothing about.
It is nice that he's actually enjoying himself and really getting into something simply because of curiosity. And the fact he's sharing that curiosity with his grandson makes it even more wholesome.
it fills me with a certain joy that Rick reacted so positively to Morty's curiosity
For real. I was expecting the usual sass but instead he agreed and it lead to some bonding time over science. Ironically what makes moments like these enjoyable is because of how their overall relationship is pretty toxic most of the time.
Me too. It’s some healthy bonding.
Morty literally reminded him of his own curiosity.
Love the lil moments
It’s like that simulation morty n Rick gathering crystals only this time it’s canon ❤
Its a nice titbit of character development i think
Like he starts being sassy as usual but then decides to not fall back to that and actually interact with morty
given that the spirit that powers Pet Cemetary is supposed to be a Wendigo, Rick's reactions to barbq ben franklin is spot on.
Wouldn't consuming human flesh there have turned rick into a wendigo?
@@jacobweatherford4696 maaaaaaybe. probably, even.
@@alexsolomon8127 then again this is rick and hes probably got some weird sciency thing that can reboot his brain and make the wendigo unpossess him.
@@jacobweatherford4696 yeah...after that bit with the Devil and uncursing cursed items, i imagine he has plenty of workarounds.
@@alexsolomon8127 yup
This episode was a clever way to bring back Morty's mind-blowers
Which was something different from inter dimensional cabale
Personally, I prefer Morty's mind blowers rather than inter-dimensional cable, the mind blowers felt more coherent between each other while still being an anthology while the IDC felt way too random for my liking
They stopped it at 2 which I can respect. Might have tarnished the legacy of interdimentional cable if they didn't mix it up
@@noxic8863 I liked the Mind-Blowers as well, mainly because I'm pretty particular about my Improv comedy. Most actors can't do it well and it just turns out stupid.
You really don’t know?
It’s basically inter dimensional cable, its in every season
I like the idea that since Rick Prime is finally gone, Rick is finding the fun he originally had with science before his life turned to revenge. There is no overall goal and no reason for everything he does to lead back to his mission. He can finally relax and do some crazy experiments with the grandson he never had. Including eating a zombified founding father...
No those were stuff that happend before, you can even see Rick depressed at the beginning of the episode because Rick prime is finally dead
It also gives me hope to start relaxing again and think about funny and crazy stories. Which I stop thinking after watching doctor strange 2. Now after wanda death , i have peace in my mind😌
Zombie Ben Franklin isn't going to eat himself. Wait... actually he might.
Honestly, I'd relish the opportunity to experiment with magic pet cemetery soil too, given the chance.
I was surprised the tin foil cooked ben franklin.
Might be interesting, everyone who goes there is usually some random person insane with grief, they're not really going for the scientific method. It's supposed to be a trap, to draw in victims, I'm curious what would happen if people just tested it.
"Let's experiment on a terrain that brings back the dead transformed into evil monsters... what could go wrong?"
@@Nisselak i wonder if mortys phone got recharged and if it came back evil
God I swear this scene they ripped from my dreams, I would have so much fun with that soil you have know idea!😊
Wow, they even got the wendigo part of the lore right by having Rick actually try to eat Ben Franklin’s cooked flesh. That’s really good attention to detail.
This is probably the only thing Pet Semetary related that I'm actually into! It's basically one big playground for a scientist to ask, "what if?" and making a mockery of the evil of this place.
Source?
The metaphysical equivalent of scambaiting
like that scp testing some of its abnormalities.
You'd just have to make sure you have loyal armed guards.
Do we even know if it charged Mortys phone?
Oh, so when their insides don't turn into spaghetti, you suddenly *don't* like cannibalism, huh?
It wasn’t cannibalism with the spaghetti people. They weren’t human. Even if it were, of course people would be less okay with it once the bodies don’t turn into perfectly delicious spaghetti.
Those were suicided aliens(or at least other version of humans). COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
the last time it was alien
what kind of human get his inside turned into spaghetti after suicide
@Adam-326 i am disgusted how you measure what is human and what is not
i bet this guy eat mermaid or elf and fine with it
@@vinceli9410 You do realise that not everything that acts or looks like a human is a human, right? The spaghetti people consider Rick and Morty aliens as well, so it’s mutual.
This is one of their more wholesome Grandpa/Grandson bonding moments... and it's over re-animated corpses.
I would honestly be down to see an episode of just this. Rick and Morty fucking around with different science projects and experimenting
So from what I saw with Ben Franklin's body, I'm thinking the energy that brings dead things back to life and turns them evil has some heat to it. Wrapping Ben Franklin's body in tinfoil just created an environment similar to a convection oven, but Ben Franklin didn't come back, so that means the tinfoil was able to sheild his body from the energy that resurrects things, but maybe the part of the energy that makes things evil was able to slip through. Rick uncharacteristically wanted to eat Ben Franklin's cooked corpse upon smelling it. That means you can bury things without them coming back as zombies, but the bodies still have an evil energy that causes people to slowly become evil, too. If that's true, maybe there's a way to resurrect the bodies without them becoming evil.
Uncharastically? We talking about the same guy who ate spaghetti from people who committed suicide?
@@captaindrake1235 But he then showed why it was wrong and stopped eating it at the end of the episode. With this, it's like something came over him, he even said it himself "What is this place doing to us?"
Evil ray prism
Good pitch, Jacob!
@@captaindrake1235yes but that was spaghetti. like i know it was literally made from a biologically process, but it was chemically identical to spaghetti, and rick is in a big multiverse where chemically identical things are just chemically identical things. cooked human meat is only chemically identical to cooked human meat and he had no reason to eat it.
It makes sense that Rick would start developing cannibalistic tendencies while hanging out in the Pet Cemetery since the spirit that powers it is supposed to be a wendigo.
I love the data line! Something about Rick sounding excited about scientific research is so wholesome- even though I don’t think the scientific method really factored into their hijinks from there
I mean, it kind of did. When they buried the car, Morty asked if it would refill the gas tank and Rick said "Good pitch". That's a hypothesis that they can then prove or disprove. Maybe it doesn't refill the gas tank but the battery works now. Maybe nothing happens and they assume it's because a car isn't organic, but then Morty's phone finishes charging. They'll have a lot more questions after that and start burying more shit and gathering more data
@@chickencurry420 Plus the kangaroo addresses the question of whether a resurrection targets only the matter that's actually buried in the soil or if it targets the object as a whole, even the parts above ground. If it's the former, that raises questions of whether you even get bleedthrough (For example does even a LITTLE of the half that was above ground get resurrected? Or is there some sort of mechanism that prevents the radiation or whatever it is from crossing that above/below division despite the only material being the bottom half of the kangaroo and the top half of the kangaroo being kangaroo meat?). On the other hand if it's the latter, then that raises the question of whether the top half will also be evil, or whether you get a kangaroo that is wholly undead but which is half evil and half regular.
It's really cute how excited Rick is about experimenting.
I'd honestly prefer a version of the show where Rick still enjoys scientific discovery and isn't constantly OP and jaded all the time. Its devoid of fun you know?
Imo, S3 is when the writers made Rick feel like a god, but they humbled him beginning from S4 and onwards, he isn't unstoppable anymore
So, Doctor Who?
@@nimpsonkinkson1924 I made a headcanon that Rick somehow turned on some sort of gene that grants him God-like probability, some sort of "main character" energy if you will.
It's
"... it's so moist!" gets me everytime lol
Its honestly weirdly nice seeing them both enjoying themselves figuring out the science behind all of it, despite the context being pretty morbid.
I love how they didn't even bother to explain where they got a dead kangaroo from.
Rick could have just opened a portal to the Elemental Plane of Dead Kangaroos and pulled one out.
@@tbotalpha8133 That seems likely.
@@tbotalpha8133But if those kangaroos were an elemental force, then it stands to reason they were never alive. Would the Sematary still work on something that was "born" dead?
I wish they would do more stuff like this where they're both happy and excited and having fun together.
This was actually pretty wholesome. Just Rick and Morty doing some actual science experiments for curiosity and having fun with it
Seeing as Ben Franklin didn’t come back to life when they wrapped him in tin foil it seems that actually works. I kinda wish this carried on longer to see how the other experiments went.
Like would just the Kangaroo’s legs come back?
Would Morty’s phone get recharged?
In which case does it come back evil?
If so what does it do?
A future episode or a future Pet Sematary Movie Needs to answer these questions!
There is a universe where Morty did not stop Rick from feasting, BUT JOINED HIM
It's fun just seeing Rick be excited about science and experimentation.
The scene is a perfect encapsulation of why every Rick needs a Morty. Going to miss out on a lot of cool stuff if you’re just a walking cynical, asshole all the time. Be curious
nice see Rick and Morty having fun on same level when they doing a project together.
Damn, I wanted to see how some of these experiments turned out!
Gonna be real Im liking this season. Alot less nihilism and running in circles, and more positive moment's between character and series changing arcs. Dope
I LOVE how excited Rick gets when he realizes there's new science to do.
I don’t think that I’d be able to stop myself from trying to see what works and what doesn’t either. I would be especially curious as to what created the heat that cooked Ben Franklin after somehow turning him into at least nearly normal living/safe-to-cook flesh instead of a rotting corpse set on fire. A necromancer who actually takes the time to see WHY Animate Dead works instead of just saying the magic words and never taking his knowledge further.
Dude, Rick, man wasn't even spaghetti this time, come on
if something is packed up in tin foil, it automatically looks somehow more delicious
Have you ever tried pig at a luau?
Maybe it’s bette-
What the fck am I saying…
I love these moments where they bond, I know people say Rick Loves Summer more but still his love for Morty isn't that far compare to Summer
Don't really get why would they think that though, there's a reason Rick only spends time with Summer when Morty is not available
@@seniorprrotm8163 that reason?
@@mohammadharithzafranmahadh6174 I mean, he loves Summer, but he enjoys more when he's with Morty, here for example, Summer would have agreed with him all the way, but Morty gave him a reason to let his creativity go wild
@@seniorprrotm8163 oh yea
The kind of questions you ask when your watching a movie but never get the answers for lol
This is the most actual scientist shit I’ve seen Rick do.
This is one of the most oddly wholesome moments between Rick and Morty, up their with them playing with the crystals in that simulation
To this day I can't tell if Rick is an anti-hero or the worst worst thing ever to happen to the Rick Sanchez-Multiverse
Ahh science, the epitome of "fuck around and find out"
This should’ve been an actual episode instead of just a clip.
Ooh, this is one of my favourite scenes of Rick and Morty!
Seeing them both enjoying new science is adorable and so wholesome^__^
I wish this whole pet cemetery thing is a full episode.
Technically it isn't the Pet Sematary that brings them back to life, it's the MicMac Burial Ground.
Something i realized in the reality for that one rick who was the main ingredient for simple ricks wafers did his diane get erased from reality or was that something they just came up with later on and now it just screws with the continuity
I think his dian did get erased it would explain why he was soo emotional when celebrating Beth's birthday as she makes him happy and she reminds him of dian which makes that scene much more sad
I would watch an hour of just Morty and Rick fucking around with a pet semetary
I would of loved to see an episode where Rick is actually enjoying being a scientist and letting Morty also figure stuff out. Even if it’s dealing with the ramifications of a cursed per cemetery
A wise man once said "The difference between screwing around and research is writ8bg down what happens."
This is a great scene 😂
This is why morty stays with rick, he actually Enjoys the crazy science adventures, yeah sometimes rick is a pain in the ass but that dosent erase all the good times
0:07 like the Rick took one look at Ben Franklin and knew he was evil
I really like how Rick just experiments here. There is something unknown that we also know of, and he is testing the logic of how it works. Even if not canonically, I like the idea.
Pet cemetery science needs a whole episode man.
Ah finally, a mad scientist doing science.
Kangaroo from the waist down 😂😂😂😂
Morty "rick, that's a guy"
everyone who saw the whole season. "and how did that stop you before spaghetti dudes?"
😂 I love how Rick sees the supernatural as a science that he doesn't fully understand yet.
I guess that’s how rick got that spaghetti idea.
Honestly it’s moments like this that make you realize why Rick became a scientist. This is his true calling in life, a call that was intercepted by tragedy, and finding everything out like at-least a decade or two before the show. Makes him just that much sadder as a character. There is a level of curse to knowing everything
I think it’s funny how I’ve never seen pet sematary logic been explored until this. I really need to find horror/sci-fi concepts that haven’t been overanalyzed and try this thought exercise out.
That spaghetti episode is tripping Rick out
i find it hilarious how wholesome yet fucked up this bit is
Does the pet cemetery add the evil, or does it multiply the good by the evil, if so could you bury the corpse a second time so the corpse would come back good, because you are multiplying evil by evil the same way you can multiply two negatives to get a positive
Honestly I’d like to see a whole episode based on this
To be fair, i would be tempted to do some science in pet cemetery soil too
That was a good one, my favourite was the one with all the guns but that was still good. Also how seamless have the new voices got?
This reminds me of SCP testing, in the best way.
Old guy in the village: bewareeeee the fire spirit of krachbatoulllllll
Me: wait an immortal entity that produces endless energy.... Assumble the team i just solved the energy crisis
Yknow. Id love quality time with a family member experimenting with pet cemetery to define the rules and parameters.
I'd pay money for that shit, i have some ideas already
Lmao that place starts corrupting Rick haha
this is exactly what the SCP Foundation would do :'))
The irony that a dogmatic scientist like Rick would be interested in the reanimative magic of a superstitious based realm when he’s been killed and revived multiple times is funny.
dang i guess rick into cannibalism after sphagetti
1:00 really makes me think rick got canmabluistic from that and discovered the spaghetti people
How to science in a nutshell.
I mean, eating roasted (evil) Ben Franklin isn’t any worse then the spaghetti
Christine is not just a strawberry girl , she is a evil car brought back to life through unholy magic .
So death revival is an exothermic reaction. Got it. 📝
I really want to see what happens with the Kangaroo 😂😂😂
fun fact, pig and human meat are not too different from one another.
I see how the spaghetti nights started...
so many questions left unanswered!
I bet Ben Franklin would try a bite of Ben Franklin.
Just sayin'.
We could use a few episodes of the 2 just doing R and D on things.
Rick really said: WOULD
I want to know what it would do to an inert virus, since viruses straddle the line between "living" and "non-living" matter (i.e., viruses only do one thing typically associated with living being, and that's reproduction). Also, if it can restore a dead battery, that would imply that it is returning the lithium ions inside the battery to their original positions before discharge. Does this imply it functions by somehow reversing time (i.e., returning things to their "original state" before "death")?
I’d watch this as a whole episode just them fucking with pet cemetery
I would love to know if King saw this. I bet he got a kick out of it.
He got a check in the mail from Adult Swim. He probably liked that even more.
@@bratton79more booger sugar to em then
I mean I too would be curious to see how it works, do notes need be taking down to go back on
The metaphysical equivalent of scambaiting
Will it bring my car back to life with a full tank of gas😂😂
I wish that was the case
Sometimes I forget Rick is actually a scientist
He openly admitted he can’t bring back the dead in the hobo Christmas special. He’s having a blast trying to cheat death
If Rick wanted zombies he could have just went to the fentanyl street of any American city.
Zombies not statues
Major fun of Science is testing stuff.
Fuck i need a full episode of them doing shit like this
Ricky and Morty would make TOP NOTCH SPC Research Agents!🧟♀👻🧟👾🧟♂👺👽🐺
We never found out if it did charge the phone.
Its funny because IRL Ben Franklin was a grave robber stealing bodies for experiments.
Compared to other American historical figures, I can excuse that. Was there a law against grave robbing for science then?
Rick really bouta eat the 2 century old corpse of benjamin franklin after he was reanimated from the dead, killed again, and then buried in tinfoil for at least 2 hours cooking his dead dessicated corpse in a steamy hot potato manner.
The fact that it was appealing at all really shows that the pet cemetary really was fucking with Rick and Morty more than they realized because it made them BOTH see an appetizing meal that Rick wouldve eaten had Morty not stopped him.
It makes sense logically to doubt a dessicated corpse could be baked like that and not come out at best like a really crappy, old, human meat jerky piece.
Rick says that the tinfoil cooked him like a pig at a luau, despite that style being a spitroast over a fire rather than a second smoke with a brisket
He means the one they bury in the ground
Look up “pig pit luau” in google, that’s the traditional way
huh, weird how Rick and Morty and Dr. McNinja both had zombie Benjamin Franklins. And now that I think about it. Scud: The Disposable Assassin also had Benjamin Franklin controlling voodoo zombies. What's up with that guy and zombies?
Guess that why rick was so insistent on the suicide spaghetti in that’s amorte
