    Along Bed of Chaos, Graverobber Trio is my favorite boss in the whole Souls series. It’s a very dynamic and interesting fight, perfectly balanced and crafted, in a beautiful arena. On my regular playthroughs, I usually use at least two bonfire ascetics so I can have fun a little bit longer.

    Something that often gets forgotten( or missed ) about Vendrick is that he did manage to solve the curse -> at least for himself ( yes I'm aware that he's hollow , but read on ) . If u get all the kings' crowns to Vendrick ( the memory thing u can access ) he crafts u a helmet that prevents hollowing ; thus making one fully immune to the curse. However Vendrick loved Nashandra and couldn't bring himself to do her harm even tho he was aware of her evil. As such he decided to prevent/put obstacles in Nashandra's path towards her goal and also tore his own soul out of his body ( which is what caused him to hollow ) to be hidden away in a different place ( shrine of amana, where Nashandra can't step in due to songs of Milfinito ) .
    Basically Vendrick had the answer, but in his own words 'was not strong enough ( mentally ) to continue on that path and be a true monarch' .

    Awesome video. I've done similar rankings, but from the perspective of the all bosses 0 damage run I routed several years back (and of course never completed), so there were some interesting differences. Darklurker was a big riser in my rankings, because it was often hard to have enough damage before it split into two. Twin pets were another one that was extremely difficult, for very similar reasons, but was a little more manageable. Another one that went way up was Skeleton Lords, cause it was quite risky. And throne duo was another one that was slightly harder, but if you know the fight it's perfectly fine (you still have the damage to kill them while they are reviving). Pretty much everything else just took longer to kill, and wasn't changed significantly on 0 damage in my opinion. Gank Squad still sucked, beginning of Ivory King was rough, and Elana you should have enough damage to kill her during her first summon (though sometimes Velstadt is an asshole and takes a swing at you).

    Easy no. 1 pick, the one and only Fume Knight.
    But there is a " easy " very casul strategy : just be overleveled as hell, as one can easily be from farming the giant lord with bonfire ascetics, stack all the meaningfull buffs ( armor + consumables and rings ) use the proper greatshield like a true noob and tank all the hits and chip damage, that is how I did it. By that time late game you should have all of that.

    • @mekacrab
      @mekacrab Před 6 dny +1

      If you can beat Sir Alonne, you can beat Fume Knight. They're both manageable, especially this late in the game. By that point you probably know how to dodge and how to react to boss attacks. The only attack that can catch someone off guard is Fume Knight's very slow swipe with the buffed greatsword. It's so slow that you don't expect it to be that slow the first time you see it.

      @falinkspropaganda4753 Před 13 dny +2

      The problem with DS2 is that it is just overshadowed by the other, better souls games. Dark souls 1 is a classic, DS3 is nearly flawless and demon souls was the first. DS2 is just in a weird spot where it just lacks what the other games have unfortunately. So maybe the game is underrated, but in the context of a fromsoft game, I think it's properly rated

      @@falinkspropaganda4753 you should go back and play it. Do your best to drop your preconceptions. It’s a fantastic game. Realistically the only problem with it is that the original release is a hot mess. But scholar of the first sin has been out long enough that judging the game on the original release is just intellectually dishonest. Scholar has a vast myriad of challenging fights and environments, a number of technical maneuvers like animation cancels that give a further depth to weapons found lacking in the other souls games, and more unique world mechanics like Pharos lockstones and all the different bonfire burning mechanics. It’s by no means perfect and definitely has some aggravating downsides and a couple downright diabolical sections (looking at you Gulch) but all in all it has a great many upsides that not only get overlooked but I get the feeling they just aren’t known because many in the community go into the game straight up assuming it’s a bad game because of its launch, even to this day! Regardless I do implore you to go back and playthrough the game and try your best not to compare while you play. Just take it for what it is and if you actually do it I think you’ll see what I mean when I say it’s underrated.

      @@thrxshx I’m not convinced it’s seen as the weakest for any reason other than a lingering sentiment from a troubled release. I think demon souls is… fine. It labored in relative obscurity even in sections of the souls community until the remake for a reason, ds1 is fine but a number of the major boss fights really don’t live up to the hype for someone who played it after ds3 was released. Ds3 kinda hard to beat though, when you have fights like midir, Gael, lady friede, soul of cinder (being everything gwyn was but better and harder in most every way), pontiff, etc. it makes you a challenge to live up to.

      Imo the greatsword is a good weapon early to late game it is easy to upgrade hits hard and has a cool moveset,
      The only downside is that it's pretty slow and you will struggle with fast enemies and in tight spaces.

      honestly the club is p good iirc. It's damage is kinda eh, but it has relatively high counter damage for it's class. After the pursuer you can go the nest behind it and get transported to the lost bastille. After a little puzzle with the blacksmith there, you can get maybe the best basic "hammer" class weapon from him, iirc it has like A str scaling. All of the ultra greatswords are relatively str oriented, and transfusing the pursuers soul from a merchant in the lost bastille is also pretty good and early. The pursuers ultra greatsword also has high counter/instability damage for it's class.
      After that, you should just find more decent to good str weapons thru exploration.

      Old Knight Hammer is a beast since you can get it from the old knights in heide that use it for mid game gyrm great hammer is a beast and later game sacred chime hammer (its a boss weapon so you need to kill the boss first and trade his soul for it)

      In Dark Souls 1, in the upper Undead Parish, before the gargoyles, there's a room with one of Seath's goons and a bunch of club hollows.
      That room is basically Prowling Magus, but probably harder because you can actually get mobbed

    Ds2 having horrible bosses besides 3 out of 42 is the reason i could never replay it. The combat overall in this game bores me to death, with enemies using the same 2 moves in a painfully slow and predictable manner
    Which is a shame because i actually think ds2 has some really cool level design ( besides the odd transition between zones, like the good ole elevator that brings you to a lava clusterfuck lol)

    Never understood why Fume knight was this high in so many tier lists ? If you have enough ADP he's a piece of cake. When I did DS2 I was so hype to fight him because everyone was talking about how hard he is and everything... I defeated him within 3 tries. However the 3 sentinels and the gargoyles early... of god

    • @mekacrab
      @mekacrab Před 6 dny +1

      It's not like any of the bosses take more than 3 tries. On my first playthrough the only ones that took more were probably Lost Sinner because I fought her early, and then the graverobbers in sunken king DLC (fuck them).
      Fume knight isn't especially hard, but a lot of bosses are worse than him, so him being decent makes him a high ranked boss. He has probably more diversity in his moveset than most bosses.

  • @markopusic8258
    @markopusic8258 Před 11 dny

    Nah Gank Squad isn't the worst. They are hella annoying and boring don't get me wrong, but they're still nothing more than 3 NPCs stuck in an elaborate room right after the easiest to skip coop gauntlet of the DLCs.
    Lud&Zallen on the other hand... Not only are my nerves already ready to burst after going through the frozen hellhole that is Frigid Outskirts, the boss itself is just crap. Woowee copypasting a boss from the same goddamn DLC except now there are 2 of them and if you can't evade the gank, get ready to be assblasted because Aava's moveset includes nasty lingering hitboxes on the swipe attacks... but now they can overlap with each other if you're unlucky and it's a free 800dmg to the face.
    And what pisses me off the most is that Fromsoft didn't learn from that piece of garbage. They did it before with the Maneaters in DeS and again in Elden Ring, plastering unique enemies together that had absolutely no business being together because their movesets weren't crafted to work in tandem. I'll say it, Bed of Chaos is less shit than Lud&Zallen, at the very least BoC has a unique gimmick even if it's awful, Lud&Zallen is pure, unadultered lazyness coated in bullshit.

    • @mekacrab
      @mekacrab Před 6 dny +1

      Lud and Zallen's problem is the walk to the boss. This is bad design. You basically have to walk for at least 3 minutes, assuming you know which way to go in this hellhole and avoiding the fkn harry potter horses.
      They dropped the ball on this area, not even putting a closer bonfire.
