    G’day from London UK mate!
    I’ve got the flat track version, in black, the best looker of the range(IMO!), bought it last summer, used, 3 years old with less than a 1000 miles on her.
    I bloody love this little bike, I’m gettin’ on a bit now (71!! How the hell did that suddenly happen, without my consent?)
    I’ve had my share of heavyweight bikes, this little guy has got plenty of poke for me and if , God forbid, I drop it, I can pick the bugger up without breaking my bollox.
    Draws lots of positive comments and admiration, wherever bikers meet, to eat bacon rolls, drink tea and put the world to rights.
    PS. Loose the fugly lollypop mirrors and get some old school, Halcyon bar end ones, great looks, quality, form and function.
    Edit: for anyone tall, I’m a lanky 6’3” and although the bike looks small, the riding position is fine, not cramped up.

      Always good to hear from an actual owner of a bike I have reviewed. They are a fun and good looking bike.
      Sadly getting older is compulsory. But being young at heart is a choice. And at 71 and riding one of these bikes, you tick that box.
      Are you looking forward to the 700cc version coming out?

      @@RoadsOfOz haha! Yeah, I'm a biker, so I'd love a go on the new Cab 700! But my last bike was a GS800, which I sold because I really wanted a much lighter weight. So the 700 would be slipping back into the bigger bike category that I'm trying to live without !
      I don't know if they are available anywhere yet. No sign in any UK dealers, not found anyone actually riding one on CZcams..
      Cheers!

    Spot on. I own a Fantic Caballero Flat Track for the Algarve Hills in Portugal, and it's a sensation. My friend owns 15 bikes including a Ninja H2, BMW GS, Harley, Ducati Multistrada, KTM Adventurer, and whenever I see him he's on his Fantic. He loves it.

    Most fun bike I’ve owned since I started riding back in the mid seventies. I’ve owned a lot of bikes. Reminded me why I wanted a bike. Taken if off road and it manages pretty well though it’s more suited for blasting back lanes and dry trails. Had mine two years and the nay sayers have been proven wrong about engine reliability, it’s been faultless. The 700 is going to be heavier and more serious, if you think you need that, then you will miss out on what this one has to offer because more power won’t make it better, it will just make you wish you’d bought a more touring based machine.

    Good video. Had mine for just over 2 years and almost 11,000 miles and it's been a great bike no real issues and has coped with the UK winter when I have had to use it. The fuel gauge is more of a fuel guess I just set my trip meter to 0 after filling up. Being old school I don't mind the no USB my sat nav is a 2006 road map

      Such a cool Italian brand that in my view, has kept to its traditional way of building bikes by using external manufacturing (ie, brakes, motor and suspension). Doing it this way has given some great results.

  • @josevi5835
    @josevi5835 Před rokem +1

    The Caballero 500 is the type of bike that big brands like Honda do not want to release. It is nimble, enough power, sexy, cheap to maintain and affordable. I do not know if the 700 will improve the 500 because two important things: weight and affordability.

    • @RoadsOfOz
      @RoadsOfOz  Před rokem

      The Fantic designers sure got the look right.
      I am looking forward to seeing if the 700 is any good. With a Yamaha motor, I think it will attract more buyers. But time will tell.

      yes, it must be something else with the Yamaha motor, myself I'm more interested in the Rally one, but I can't decide between it and the Triumph 400X as a beginner.

    Very nice looking bike. With just 150 kg seems to be very light. Shame for the fuel gauge. I know how it feels when you are not sure how much you have inside. :) Not a cool thing really. Just keep it up Matt. You got my like.

      When the red light turns on you still have another 70klm to empty, do no need to worry. Usually a full tank can run up to 270klm . The red light turns on at around 200k .
