I didn't understand why the GM said to burn her Ladyships stuff when she was alive. Did she not know she survived or, was she unsure she would live? There are some actors who look good in modern dramas and some who look right at home in ancient costumes. Wallace looks as if he belonged to the Ming dynasty era as he is so handsome in those costumes and hair styles.
@Skydancer263 The maid actually said 衣物, which refers more to clothing (items), so I assume the GM meant to burn the clothing items her Ladyship wore during her death sentence, not so much of her stuff in general - and she was unsure she would live at the time but I don’t think that’s relevant to the decision to burn her clothing items. Hope this helps :)

I did not understand that at first, then I figured the GM was talking about the prison clothes that Shiyi was wearing when she was almost beheaded. But the scene made the viewers think Shiyi was beheaded, but then she wakes up. Very touching scene and the beginning of it was almost too hard to watch.
@@paulready8897 Didn't think she was dead as they showed the front of the mansion and there was no white bunting (signifying death in the household), I guess GM was reflecting on how close of a call they had not only with nearly losing Shiyiang and their unborn child, but Lingyi as well.
It's a trick. The word she used was approximately "garments," it would make the audience think she might be talking about Shiyi's whole wardrobe when it actually only meant the rags she was wearing on the gallows. Just to give us a minute of grief before revealing that after all it was all good in the end.

Would have loved to have actually seen her pregnant and him doting on her during pregnancy, instead we got got a huge time leap and we see their stunning daughter when she is older, i was so glad they had a daughter as he had two sons already, thought they may have had more children as she was his only wife ( i believe someone said in the novel they had more children?), this was an incredible drama drama, highly recommend.
