The England senior team showed great character in their 2-1 win over Turkey at the Etihad Stadium after The Crescent-Stars' Calhanoglu equalised in the 13th minute, Jamie Vardy sealed the win for The Three Lions in the 83rd minute of the game.

The pace we have on the counter and our finishing from Vardy + Kane is very promising regarding this England team. If they can form a more solid bond together as a team, with everyone aware of their unique roles, and iron out the defense (shambolic at times) then I do think we have a decent chance of reaching the Semi's or Quater's at least.

I think the team shows promise. We don't need to worry about our attack, the defence should look brighter than this over the next few weeks with the return of Smalling and with more training, considering they only just met up before this match. All the defensive problems are positional, especially on set pieces. This can be fixed, since the individual defenders are decent.
40mil+ for Stones? Fuck off. What's worse is he's had several other performances like this but a few nice passes and he's suddenly a world class defender. Smalling and Cahill please any day.

Yes, I admit it was offside. But please don't blame England, it's not their fault. The lineman clearly made the mistake. And the referee is German of Turkish decent, so you can't say the referee was biased in anyway.

This is what I learnt from watching today's game.
I think Vardy played well, man of the match in my opinion. I think Kane and Vardy should start at the front together, both are quality and both deserve it. They form a wicked partnership together and would have had three goals between them had Kane been a bit luckier. I think Rooney should drop right back to a central midfield role which he was in in the FA cup final, he played well there. Alli has to be included as well for me, although I would like to see Barkley alongside him rather than Sterling. Replace Stones with the more accomplised Smalling and that might tighten up the defense, and possibly replace Walker with Clyne although both deserve the spot in their own way.

In my opinion this is our best side although Rooney could be replaced with Wilshere. But lets face it, he will be in the starting 11 regardless of what happens between now and the Euros.

Rooney and Dier playing a Central Midfield role which Rooney can do well which we saw in the FA cup final, Dier is a CM/CDM so that would work for him, Barkley and Alli are both attacking midfielders and Kane and Vardy are both strikers. The defense would also be in their correct positions so I don't see how anybody is really out of position. Rooney would be the only one not in his usual place but he is quite versatile in terms of position and playing him in his usual position would mean somebody else (who lets face it is probably better) missing out. So I don't see how any of the players let alone "everyone" is playing out of position. Maybe a 4-2-2-2 formation? Although not a common formation it would mean all the best players would get to play in their usual position/very close to their usual position.
+Dylan Steele 4 222 is best when everyone works hard..... alli is a central player , not the the type to run alot so he wud drift in from outside leaving gaps in the flanks as he stays central. barkley is also a central player and he also tends to drift in leaving space in the flanks. You cannot have 2 CAMs playing wide roles and expect them to do a job.Thats y sterling is needed.Its just the case of not playing the best players in the team but the best players in each position.

Except it wasn't, it was also a team that had just met up and had little time to train. The defence was mainly poor in set peices, and this can be fixed easily with some regular training together as a full squad. Manchester united and liverpool players were missing.

Getting annoyed at some of the comments on here. We win a game that should have been a draw and people moan. Its a friendly, the old England would have conceded at the end and threw the hard work away. This is a young side that won't always play well, but against Germany and Holland (although we lost against Holland) we dominated large parts of the game and should have won by more, both German & Dutch media/fans agree. They are not going to play their best football on the eve of the tournament after a long hard season, relax people.

In near future off-side positions must be verified using technology. It's possible to search it out in 3-5 seconds by the 4th official sitting in front of a tv monitor and througout the game and warninig immidiately the linesman and the referee through ear-phones. Otherwise there will always be unfair results in many games.
Not just offsides, all controversial decisions should be reviewed with a replay like in Rugby.
