Fish (if you are kinky), Bash (if you are vanilla), ZSH (if you are masochist who likes pegging)

NixOS is quite amazing in containers (LXC): 1 configuration file for all: services, users, apps, network, NFS, etc. Very easy to maintain. And Incus, wraping the LXCs is quite phenomenal too !

HD2 does the same to me in Linux, usually it takes a couple times launching then it works fine. It does seem to be hit and miss. Sometimes it does work on first attempt.

I'm looking out for what serpentOS might bring in the future. Seems like a nice system.

Chris your Dygma raise and defy should work, I have both and they both work fine it must be some thing whit your system, I only have issue when the system crashes then, I need to do a full reboot back into the system then the keyboard back up and running. I run Arch, Bazzite and windows.

You really probably just need to run `update-desktop-database` instead of logging out. Can't confirm for sure since your setup is so custom, but I'd suggest taking a look anyway.

Yeah Helldivers doesn't run in a vm. I'm running a dedicated win10 vm with qemu-kvm running Sunshine/Moonlight also, for compatibility purposes but anti-cheats try to detect the fact that they are running in a vm or isolated in some container. This is because cheaters love to use VMs as a cheap alternative to 2-pc setups (or to play games with yourself, to boost an account or something). Those detections also tend to rely on real Windows APIs that WINE/Proton can't translate to *nix.
The main disappointment for me is Escape From Tarkov, which has so developed an AC engine so deeply entwined with Windows that Linux will *never* see it even for a second. I'm certain there will **never** be a workaround or option for running Tarkov on anything but a bare metal windows box.
Generally speaking, if a game has anti-cheat, don't waste your time in a VM. Even if the game runs, you almost certainly will get crippled performance.
      24:00
It's a myth that developers can check a box and get Proton/Linux support in their anti-cheat. These games that you're talking about are using customized versions of the AC engine, just like Denuvo anti-DRM is specifically licensed to an individual game title. They aren't universal solutions, and the versions of these AC engines tend to get locked in years before something like "Proton support" was a twinkle in an engineer's eyes. In 5 years from now, the sentiment will likely be true that devs with AC in their games can just "flip a switch, get Linux support for free". For the time being, while I understand and agree with your sentiment (please just make the game compatible), but you are also *completely* incorrect. Your feelings remain valid, but the logic that takes you there is just fake news (if you'll forgive me borrowing the term from those crazies) derived from misunderstanding the technical hurdles involved in updating such an invasive bit of technology.

many game companies(not really the developers) avoiding linux is due to how LIMITED the amount of data they could gather from the users compared to in windows. and all those game companies make money from your metadata too. not just from the money you pay for their games. they want your metadata too. thats why company like ubisoft has a mandatory ONLINE PLAY ONLY games even for their single player games. because they want to take MORE from you. and linux's structure LIMITS that ability.
i always said, microsoft makes their OS DELIBERATELY haplessly OPEN. not that they are suck at security no, they are very good at it, but they make it BY DEFAULT OPEN TO INTRUSION. for various "reasons".
i once said it somewhere that windows home releases is like a house with so many doors, but only have one door having a an actual lid you can close. the rest are OPEN WIDE. the pro version of windows comes with all the doors coming with "lids". but only one by default is CLOSED. the rest are OPENED, and you have to "MANUALLY" close them.
