The Beatles are in a category all by themselves, no other band is even close.
Far away , they were "the fab four "
And this song is very early. The Beatles were around for a long time and evolved on the cutting edge of music for many years. "Late" Beatles is nothing like this. It's all good.
The Beatles set the table, and cooked the food, The rest of us, are just lucky enough to eat it!
Facts !
It's reminiscent of the film, "Yesterday"!
If John Lennon's voice doesn't grab you ain't living .
No, you are. He isn't.
@@edwardmclaughlin719he’s not?!?
Or you're hard of hearing. 😊
I totally agree!
Well aren't you the clever one@@edwardmclaughlin719
This is almost 60 years ago, and their songs still appeal to everyone. No other band can say that. There are no bad Beatles' songs. The best band ever. Second place is light years behind.
Nonsense, there are plenty of people that don't care for their music. Particularly this early bubblegum pop.
@@Cosmo-KramerBeatle fans don't give a rats.
@@raccuia1 He didn't say, "Beatles fans", he said, "everyone", and that is rubbish.
Yet you listened to this. Why?
@@jimfrederick3907 Because the bird is hot.
More Beatles, that's what you guy's need...
guys is a plural not a possessive
@@norfolknchance657 Good grief.
The Beatles are the greatest ever. They basically invented pop music and then went onto invent the concept album (Sgt. Pepper's) and were pioneers in songwriting and use of technology; the use of loops, etc, etc. They released 13 official albums between 1963 to 1970. They had 4 songs inside the top 10 charts *at the same time*. No one will ever accomplish what they did ever again.
They had the top 5 songs in the top 10 at the same time (1 through 5 on the charts).
1. Can’t Buy Me Love
2. Twist And Shout
3. She Loves You
4. I Want To Hold Your Hand
5. Please Please Me
Plus, they had 7 more songs in the top 100. They also had 2 more songs enter the top 100 the following week (There’s A Place, and Love Me Do). That means that they had 14 songs in the top 100. I don’t believe that will ever be equaled again EVER.
Hell ya
I've loved The Beatles since 1963, but I'm sorry, it's ridiculous to say "they basically invented pop music" The Beatles would have said such a thing was ridiculous. The Beatles wouldn't have existed without seventy five years of theater music before them, back to Gilbert and Sullivan in England, and about sixty years in the United States.
Names:
Irving Berlin
Jerome Kern
Cole Porter
Vincent Youmans
Richard Rodgers
George Gershwin
Kurt Weill
Harold Arlen
Harry Warren
Hoagy Carmichael
Frank Loesser
Johnny Mercer
James McHugh
and dozens of others.
Add to that several hundred years of English folk songs, some classical influences, many other things.
What The Beatles did invent was a way to use rock and roll, which by the time they came to America, was thought to be dead, in all sorts of new ways. Yes, they were remarkable originals, a movement unto themselves in popular music - in music, period - and I put them in The Pantheon.
But they didn't "basically invent" popular music.
@@MsAppassionataThat, of course, was in the U.S., where the Beatles hit as a sudden wave when they already had two albums out (not to say it's not still bloody impressive!) Back in the UK they grew gradually to a mania, where maybe "4 in the top 10" was as far as that went (still not bad).
In April 1964 they occupied the first 6 spots of the top 10 in Canada...
I was one of the 73,000,000 Americans (40% of the population at the time) who excitedly watched The Beatles when they first performed on a popular TV show in early 1964. They went on to have a massive influence on rock music , inspired many great bands, and set many cultural trends all over the world. Song construction was very simple at that time, but drastically changed in the late 1960's. If you are interested in exploring Beatles music then I would highly recommend some of their live performances. Start with their rooftop concert with the song Don't Let Me Down. it was one of the last concerts they did before splitting up. I enjoyed your reaction.
That was their last live concert.
The Beatles did make their American television debut on the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday, February 9, 1964. After that appearance, pop music never was the same. The Beatles were master game changers indeed!!!
I would reccomend these two stop commenting on things they know absolutely nothing about. Their cluelss babble made me cringe.
@@MsAppassionata That wasn't their last live concert. After that there was Candlestick Park, Shea Stadium and countless others. I've been a fan and follower since I watched them on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

The Beatles have a huge catalog of songs, and they're almost all great songs. They changed so much over the years. Every song is different. It's very cool to see their evolution over the years. You'll probably be blown away by their later period songs.
I cherish the early period tunes. There is an amazing innocence and exuberance to the tunes.
@@JimPlattes I absolutely do too. But I find that some of today's generation don't appreciate the early music much. I think that for some people it's better to introduce a mid or later song first. Then when they discover their brilliance they can explore where it came from.
The Beatles were from Liverpool. Their music originated from Skiffle, Beat, and 50s Rock 'n' Roll. There are too many songs to list here as far as favorites because everything they did was a smash hit. I do love "Ticket to Ride".
Lennon said "tick to ride" described cards indicating a clean bill of health carried by Hamburg prostitutes in the 1960s
I remember reading a Paul McCartney quote
.He said" I just thought we were a good little R&B band"
Love early Beatles songs!
So this was recorded in Feb 1964. It’d be interesting to see you react to Strawberry Fields Forever which was recorded in December 1966. The Beatles really only had an eight year recording career and their variety and progression in that space of time is astounding. 😊
Strawberry Fields was in 1966? I thought it was 1968…Rain and Paperback Writer were 1966, Pepper in 1967, and Magical Mystery Tour (Strawberry Fields) in 1968??
@@Fiftynine414Strawberry Fields was recorded early in the Sgt Pepper sessions. It was released as a single (along with Penny Lane) which precluded it from being included on the album.
2 seconds the heads started going then the smiles. Greatest band ever.❤

Their amatuerish Beatles reaction was clueless. Why should anyone be interested in anything they have to say about musical history ? They had nothing interesting to say about the Beatles, the genre of music they were in, that they invented, just ridicoulous comments about country western music, and wherethe Beatles from ? Worst commentary ever, and I've listened to a lot ! They need to stick to something they actually know a little about. .... Yikes !
@jaddison1112 "Yikes" was my reaction to reading your pompous comments. Now we know who you are.
I was 9-years-old when The Beatles first appeared on The Ed Sullivan show, February 9, 1964 -- their first national exposure in the US, exactly 60 years ago this month. On that date, Ringo Starr & John Lennon were 23, Paul McCartney, 21, & George Harrison, 20 (2 weeks shy of 21) - that's how VERY young they really were!!! I LOVED them immediately, feelings that never waned, & they have been the most prominent & beloved band on the soundtrack of my life ever since.
Facts everyone should know -- John was murdered in NYC on Dec 8, 1980, 10 years after The Beatles broke up. He was 40 years old. George died of cancer on Nov 29, 2001, age 58. Ringo (now 83) & Paul (81) are alive & well & still delighting audiences with their wonderful music!!!!!
The history of The Beatles, & how their empire was built, & why they are still so very popular, is a story every music fan should know!! Everyone in every generation should listen to their extensive & incredibly entertaining catalogue & learn their stories, & find out how 4 young lads from Liverpool, England changed the world!!! There are innumerable reasons & recordings (from 1962-1970) that show why The Beatles are the GOATs among all the other GOATS in the world, & you should do yourself a favor and listen to it all. I know you'll enjoy the ride!! Each band member also had a very successful post-Beatles career, & there is SO MUCH great music in that assortment as well!!! And I can promise you this -- Just about EVERY song in The Beatles iconic catalogue is worth listening to.
I grew up in NY and turned 9 on February 8, 1964. NY was going crazy with those two weekends of Beatlemania.
I was 5, when the whole family sat down together to watch them on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's among my earliest memories, and the beginning of my becoming a lifelong fan!
Me too! 9!!!!!
I was just 4, but I still remember it. My mother said it looked like Ringo (the drummer) could use a glass of water.
@@jimfrederick3907 Hello my fellow New Yorker! I remember those days well. I was 11 years old in February of 1964. It was crazy fun!
They were the biggest band to ever come out of England and the greatest band of all-time.
Try "I want to hold your hand" and "I saw her standing there"
I am 60 years old from New Jersey. I grew up with the Beatles and made a pilgrimage to Liverpool. Best band ever.
More Beatles please 😎 thanks 🌷
What a ride you have coming! The Beatles did it all. Jump in and enjoy. No one takes you to as many different places as the Beatles.
This is early Beatles it’s so interesting how they evolved over time. 50 years later they still continue to have new fans. I would suggest A Day In The Life by them. An amazing song 😊
Great reaction ! Note all the song on this LP are GREAT ! more BEATLES
Oh my days!! Lol. Only The most famous group in the world!!😂 from Liverpool. So famous that Michael Jackson spent an absolute fortune buying the copyrights to their back catalogue. Everyone has covered at least one of their songs at some time. Their catalogue is huge as Paul McCartney and John Lennon were prolific songwriters. You have probably heard dozens of their songs but didn't know it. A truly deep rabbit hole and one you will very much enjoy. Love your reactions and the sweet way you conduct yourselves. 👍🇬🇧
The Beatles were the greatest band ever. They changed the world, they changed us.
The best way to know about the Beatles is to start at the beginning of their career and work your way to the end. Take the journey, Jumping around doesn't do it justice.
absolutely. Too many people cherry pick the later Beatles songs that sound like the proverbial classic rock radio play list, and matched their limited musical preferences in their little safe musical cocoons, instead of learning about the evolution of pop and rock music. Even going back further to the beginning of the 20th century and ragtime music, which was considered outrageous at the time, starting in the 1890's. it's all connected and evolved.
Their later stuff is amazing. Abbey Road is one of the best albums ever made.
100%
So was Sgt Pepper, The White Album, Revolver, and Rubber Soul.
P.S. - And Magical Mystery Tour, plus A Hard Day’s Night were nothing to scoff at either. As a matter of fact, every Beatles album has something worthwhile on it.
Revolver !
The Beetles evolved at an incredible rate - in just a few years they went from simple, catchy pop songs to creating new sounds unlike anything ever done before. Work your way through their catalog in the order the music was released and you'll see why they are considered the most consequential popular music group of all time.
It's almost impossible to pick just one favorite song by The Beatles. There are just so many that are wonderful. The Beatles walked down the hall of music knocking down doors on either side that opened up new fields for other bands to go in to explore. They made pop music into an art form that showed everyone that anything was possible. They explored all kinds of genres and combinations of genres and pushed the boundaries of the recording studio. As Alice Cooper said, "Everybody was influenced by somebody, but I think everybody was influenced by The Beatles." One of the many amazing things about The Beatles is how quickly they evolved in such a short time. As Elvis Costello said, "Every record was a shock when it came out. Every single was an event.” Or, as Ozzy Osbourne called them, “The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Earth!”
This was done in the early days of 4-track recording, in 1964. The Beatles, along with their producer George Martin, were able to get extraordinary results from the technology of the times. Their first 2 albums, released the previous year, were actually recorded on 2-track machines.
"I Feel Fine" is one to consider! Same time period as this one (roughly) and another joyful 2 minutes or so of Beatles magic--different (as they always are) and historic (as they often were-first recorded use of distortion). You can listen to their top 50 songs and only scratch the sirface...
❤❤, I feel the Beatles are not just a song/single group, they are also an album group, the Beatles are the reason I listen to everything an artist may have or why you shouldn’t judge an artist by one song or their singles
First time listener and thank you for a great reaction! As mentioned, the Beatles have so many great songs. I always look at their "early" songs and their "later" songs. Some early Beatles, Twist and Shout, Hard Days Night, I Want to Hold Your Hand are just a few. Later songs as mentioned, listed to their entire second side of the Abbey Road album, a compilation of partially completed songs that they just played and recorded, Revolution is a great song, Here Comes the Sun and While My Guitar Gently weeps are just a few "later" tunes. These guys were simply amazing.
If you sample them in depth your mind will be blown! They have more different vibes than anyone you will ever listen too and yet you'll still always recognize it as.... The Beatles! They're simply the best!
This is early Beatles. It’s the early stuff. The Beatles are a rabbit hole that is so deep and so wide you won’t believe it.
And here's me thinking they were a pop group.
You've just experienced the biggest selling music act in music history, and nobody else even comes close. They have the most #1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 (with 20) and 35 overall top 10 hits. I would do whole album reviews if I were you. They are that amazing, and evolved so much in their 8 year recording history. I would start with the Beatles 1st album (Please, Please Me) and go right through until their final released album, "Let it Be".
I Subscribed!
Peace
The Beatles can to the US in February 1964 for their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. In November 1963 President John Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas. The country was in shock and had gone through a subdued holiday season because of it. In a way, the Beatles helped “snap us out of it”. Their music was new and fresh, and different, and was about to change the landscape of popular music. It’s hard to understand today what an impact they had without being in the moment of those times 60 years ago.
"I think they're British" ... face palm!
Yeah, unbelievable! At least they're listening to proper music!
This is the song when i was about 14- 15 back in the 80s. I walked into our kitchen when my mom was doing dishes listening to the radio. It hit me like a ton of bricks. The harmonies, the harmonica. I just stood there stunned as to what i was hearing. I've been a diehard Beatles fan since that day. I finally made it to Liverpool England in 2006 😁
So many great songs, keep going 😎👍
This is early Beatles. And how their sound progresses through the years is mind boggling
the Beatles! you gotta get to know them!
Very early Beatles hit! More!!!!!! In order! They evolved and reinvented themselves every second. Always new!
“I wanna hold your hand” was the first. Please show the Ed Sullivan show video!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She says "Yeah, yeah, yeah" alot
The Beatles grew and changed a lot over the years. This was an early song of theirs and they have a lot of different sounds with different lead singers. This was John Lennon. I'd recommend one from Paul McCartney - Let it Be or one from George Harrison - Here Comes The Sun next.
This is not only one of my favorite Beatles’ songs but one of my favorite songs ever.
As others have said, The Beatles were incredibly versatile. Trippy (Tomorrow Never Knows, Strawberry Fields, etc), poppy (She Loves You), melodic (In My Life, Yesterday), great harmonies (If I Fell + about 50% iof their output), blues, kids songs, heartfelt acoustics, piano ballads, scary shit (Blue Jay Way). Absolute genius band. The gift that keeps on giving.
Other great Beatles songs,just for start,All You Need Is Love,Something,In My Life,I Wanna Hold Your Hand,If I Fell,Nowhere Man,Help!,Ticket To Ride,While My Guitar Gently Weeps,Here Comes The Sun,Oh Darling,Hey Jude,Let It Be,Strawberry Fields Forever. Greetings from Argentina🖐️
My favorite Beatles song. John’s voice ❤️
It's said that travel broadens the mind, a journey into the Beatles will broaden your musical minds forever. Take the journey and enjoy.
Seeings how you two are literally kids, lm 67, l still found it amazing that you hadnt listened to the Beatles, but hey better late than never. l grew up listening to Funk, lm going to throw out a request, and ask for a reaction to James Brown, Doin It to Death or Payback.
Between 1962 and 1970 the Beatles recorded 212 songs, most are great and they're all different. And their development in those years was amazing. They owned the 1960s. Welcome to Beatle World, please continue on this journey, I subscribed hoping you will. And you're charming people
They reinvented the music business. Beatles Forever
You are two lovely, openhearted, and genuine people. Thank you for sharing your experiences with music with us!
The Beatles are considered one of the greatest musical groups of all times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Also all four members of the Beatles have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as individuals as well.
They have a whole album of number one songs.
OMG! How can you be unfamiliar with the Beatles?! What sheltered lives you have lived. Your parents forgot part of your education! Enjoy your journey. You have taken the first step on a beautiful journey. There are no bad Beatles songs 🌺✌️
It all started with’Love me Do’.
I have seen the beatles live along with the rolling stones ike and tina turner the yardbirds just to name a few i am now 76 years old what a time the 60s brilliant
Listen to MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR by the BEATLES... MY FAV ALBUM.Youll like it.🎶✌️🌎
Okay here are some good suggestions. The song hey Jude performed live on the Dick cavett show where the whole crowd joins in the ending part.
The song help from the album help where they are playing with their guitars while they're on a bicycle built for four with Ringo in the back twirling an umbrella.
Anything with a live performance so you can watch them work the microphones and see how professional they are.
Songs from the other spectrum the end of their beetle years such as I want you she's so heavy. Another song Helter skelter is notable for its introduction of hard rock to the world.
You will soon see that everything the Beatles recorded was worth listening to.
90% of my brain is taken up by Beatles songs. Once you hear one, it stays with you.
Begin your journey of discovery at the beginning and continue chronologically, from '62 to '70, experience it the way the world did!
IMO, the happiest of all Beatles songs.
Thank you guys for reacting to The Beatles. Any song you pick by The Beatles is great, but for something similar to this one, try, If I Fell, also from John, or And I Love Her, from Paul. All early love songs. Their music changed over the eight short years they recorded together, but the early albums are full of beautiful love songs that they themselves wrote. Thanks again.
Killer reaction
Great reaction..
Keep digging..
Beatles are the GOAT's
Better musicians ever, eternal time music. This song is marvelous, low-rated.
Start from the beginning, and go all the way through; they were together as The Beatles for LESS THAN A DECADE , yet went from sweet pop to heavy metal.
Try the rooftop version of Don’t Let Me Down. You’ll hear their evolution in five short years.
It is impossible to pick a favorite Beatles song because there are just so many great ones. That’s what makes them the G.O.A.T.
Here's a great, rarely played, early Beatles tune for you; "Tell Me Why" (same album). It's a really fun tune, they sing one line in falsetto!!!
The Beatles or The Fab Four. I became a Beatles fan upon first hearing "I Saw Her Standing There" by the Four Lads From Liverpool.
You guys will love the Beatles
They were first. Amazing deep catalog.
These are some of the music world songs that gave all others a reason to believe in their modern-day talents.
Every modern-day artist and songs weren't even thought of then(Class of 71):2024
This was a great new sound for us back in the early 60s. Lots of dance plus relationships in the early days. So many of their early recordings weren't even done in stereo and when they were remastered you got a different sound
Welcome to the coolest rabbit hole. You two have much joy in store if you choose to explore it.
This album is full of their fantastic early songs that were geared mainly to teenyboppers. Loved it in the early 60s and grew up with them as their music grew up.
The Beatles made so many greate songs ant though their time as a band was surprisingly short they matured in their songwriting . They were so young - I think the time as a band ended when they were about 25 years old. If you look at treir songbook I am sure you will recognise many titles !
Classic early Beatles sound. Love it dearly. I was only 4 when they debuted on Ed Sullivan, but I was old enough to feel the impact of the atomic explosion that was Beatlemania.
This is so early for them but even then it was so compelling, they had already put in a ton of time playing live in small venues that were really hardcore. Most notably the cavern in Liverpool which is where they were from, a shipping town and very blue collar, but also in Hamburg Germany for a while. And then in 1964 when they were so young, they exploded globally and they made a trip to the United States to play on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York and that is all she wrote. That is literally what the British Invasion in music refers to in terms of its beginning.
The beatles were the beginning of what we call pop music..😊
Perhaps the deepest musical rabbithole of all, which Beatles song do I think you should listen to???
ok, I'll play along and request StrawberryFieldsForever and WithInYou&WithoutYou! Very diff sides of the Beatles...
React to all the Beatles music you can!
It will be a fun eye opening experience for you two.
But just remember to breakup the reaction while listening to it like you did with this one so you don't get blocked by CZcams.
I love your presence and your personalities.
Good luck
Beatles have made millions of great song i love this song it on my top 10 song of beatles
I envy you young folk that are hearing this great music for he first time yet as one who was 12 when I first heard them, it is a thrill to share your reaction.
John Lennon’s voice is so clear in the song. One of my fave Beatles songs ❤
This is my favorite Beatles LP From start to finish
The 13 songs on A Hard Day's Night are consistently diverse and consistently great. They composed the title song literally overnight.
The Beatles are the most successful band of all time . They had more number 1 hits and sold more records and albums even to this day , there is no one can touch them . THANKS Hope for some Beatles .
I saw the Beatles in concert live in August of 1965 in Portland Oregon. It was an amazing to not only hear them in person, but to hear the ear-piercing screams from all all the girls that were there. It was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. They sounded just as good live as they were on their recordings.
It's 1964.
For having reacted to the Beatles I subscribed to you.
I recommend every Beatle song. There is nothing that can compare.
This is the definition of "IT".
They were only together for 7 years commercially yet changed the world in that short time. One of my favourites is Dear Prudence. Or for a straight rocker try I saw her standing there. Help is cry from John Lennon that I feel resonates with many people during their youth about trying to find your way in life and love. And Yesterday is Paul McCartney's best work. The band grew and evolved with every album and they are all different yet distinctly the Beatles. Once you start down this road of albums you won't be able to stop until you've heard them all. If you're like me, you will feel sadness that there weren't more. I hope you enjoy them
The Beatles started as the Quarry Men and then became The Beatles. The group was John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr (Drummer). My favorite songs are Let It Be and Here Comes The Sun. ❤
This band is about love. They have so many love songs its ridiculous. Oh, and they're from Liverpool.
Oh my god...If you two are just setting out on the Beatles, what a trip you are about to embark on. You are so lucky to be setting of on that trip for the first time. Subscribed...do some more..
Welcome to the Beatles!
Look into the early years so you can see how far they progressed in such a short time. Can't Buy Me Love and the title song, A Hard Day's Night are rockers.
Good suggestion. If they are reading these comments I would recommend these early mega-hits to get a taste of Beatlemania as it began- and why it wasn't just screaming girls that made them popular.
it hurts me that everyone of every culture and age dont know the beatles.well done you 2
I recommend, Within You Without You. It is true psychedelia.
Great reaction, guys. Welcome to the Magical Mystery Tour that is the Beatles.
