I was like 8-9 maybe, don’t exactly remember and was a fan of Pokemon. So I made an imaginary Pokemon named ‘Thunmon’ at that time. Last year, my brother somehow found that drawing I made and ordered a customized orange coloured ‘Thunmon’. It was so heart touching. Just wanted to share this bc I was excited after seeing the cake. Also English is not my first language, so please bear with me :)
I love that you teach things that us regular people could manage to make something resembling something good. You are so wonderful to share your knowledge with us.
I always did the one square, one circle, and the circle in cut in half and each half is added to the top sides of the square when it’s positioned like a diamond, but this one is really cool too. Not everyone has a square pan.
You made it look like something I could actually do!!😂 I enjoy your video's SO much. Thank you for making everything fun and for being so happy 🤗. From A California girl who is too old to take anything too seriously!
Do you guys say "easy as cake" down there? We say "easy as pie" in North America. But, a more delicious pun (over here, anyway), would have been "a piece of cake!" ;p
i’ve done it differently. i bake a square & a circle cake of the same width (usually 8in) then i cut the round cake in half & place the edges on the two connected corners of the square cake. ❤
I've always made a heart cake using a square cake and a round cake cut in half... turn the square cake to look like a diamond then put the 2 half rounds on the top 2 sides of the diamond making a heart!
Edit: _I_ should have scrolled first LOL. I said the same thing after you, even down to turn the square like a diamond! (Thank you, Betty Crocker book from the 1970s my mom has.) I like this one because no square pan needed.
@@katvtay I'm sorry! I was just putting my advice in as to how I've always done a heart cake... I dont always scroll the comment section to see if someone else has said what I want to say! But I agree making it outta 1 cake is better & more budget friendly than making 2 cakes into 1. But thank you for your comment! Hope you have a great night!
@@angelicalister1627 No no, I meant ME! Hahaha, you beat me too it, and I didn’t scroll. I can see how that could be confusing since I didn’t start the sentence with “I” LOL. I would never tell someone to not comment on something that has already been said. I was just making fun of me for it. 😂
I was wondering if I don’t use a buttercream, will the pieces still stick to form a heart shape?!! I’m using a pudding/heavy cream type of frosting. Thank you!! 🥰
I have a heart cake pan, and I use it often, so I have a question. How would you slice it up for sharing? My family is larger so my older and younger siblings + my parents would probably want some too.
@@MrCleansLawyer well I don’t think it matters. unless you start by cutting the top bits off first, then those in half. to get triangleish shapes then you’re left with a triangle you cut into smaller triangles.
I’ve been watching your content for a while now , and I love it 🥰. Your such an amazing artist and I learned a lot from you . But, the actual cake look delicious 🤤. I wonder if your friend Katie would share her recipe with us😊.
It works so much better using the same size square and round pans. It will make a perfect heart shaped cake without having to fill in the extra space because there won’t be any. I learned to do this over fifty years ago from watching my aunt who made cakes for the entire county. Set the square layer on end in a diamond shape. Cut the round layer in half and place each half at the top edges of the diamond cover with frosting around the edge and fill with your favorite filling. Repeat with the next square and half rounds and frost entire heart shape with your favorite frosting.

I was just popping on here to say that as well. That's how my mom used to make heart cakes for my class at school when I was young.
My mom did this as well.
What's stopping me from making all my cakes heart shaped? Nothing. I even have heart shaped pan. 😁
My mom and I used to do that with two rounds. So glad to see it's still done and shared; so nostalgic! 💜
This is an exact technique out of a vintage cake decorating book my mom owns! Her mom (my grandma) made cakes using the book when she was a kid.
Do you remember the name of the book? I absolutely love vintage baking books.
Amazing💯
Ahh so pretty!!! Happy Valentine's Eve lol
It’s Valentine’s Day already in Aus!
Ah that's awesome!! Lol now it's Valentine's day here in GA!!
Ohhh
Amazing
Whenever i bake a cake in a heart mould
It doesn't have a required heart shape 🤗🤗☺💕
That sponge colour is 👌
THANKING YOU SO MUCH, YOU MAKE THIS LOOK SO EFFORTLESS. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That is an adorable cake. I never thought of making a heart that way. You're very creative.☺️
I'm making my mum a birthday cake today and was going to do a circle but I might try this now thank you

Girrrrrl! That is such a GREAT TIP!!!! Excellent little hack that really is…easy as pie!!! Lol 🍰❤🎂
Brilliant! Thank you! ❤️
Pure GENIUS!!!! ❤❤❤❤

So easy; looks better done this way than the heart pan cake pan I have.
Wow, you make it look simple!

“Piece of cake” is definitely something we say here in aus and yep, missed opportunity! 😂
We say easy as pie as well 😆
Well at least I do lol
I've never made it that way before.
I use a round cake and square cake.
It makes a much bigger heart. It's 1 layer but it's 1 1/2" high.
The inside is so pretty and vibrant
Love ❤your videos
