@@lucyedwards as a full time cane user, on hitting the cones, I would have turned and shorelines them and cut a few seconds off your cane attempt, and probably wouldn’t have beat Mollie though, maybe would have taken me 12 seconds as a brand new unknown environment.
When I was a small boy I was always scared when I saw a person with a white cane, I always thought they would beat me with it if I came too close. But as I have grown up. I did learn what it was for and now I think they are an awesome thing for blind people to have. :)
It’s alright now and I think you are aware of this but if you become a bigger creator and live in the same house still showing the outside now might not be a problem but in the future you could get stalkers etc coming to your house that have seen it on CZcams. Stay safe lucy!
Can I ask a question does MISS Molly ever do a 💩 when your out and and do you ever get nasty comments from ppl when she's done it or do guide dogs get trained not to ? I'm not being mean with the question above I'm really not . I love all your videos about understanding who you cope with being blind ❤

Usually the dog is retired once they start showing signs of slowing down or illness. Many blind people will have multiple dogs throughout their life, some will return to the same guide dog training center every time and others will choose a different center depending on their individual circumstances and preferences. There is never a charge for a guide dog though most training centers as they are funded through donations. If a dog were to suddenly and unexpectedly die, a blind person could certainly request a new one whenever they feel they are ready (although they may have to wait a while if there is a backlog of people waiting). If the dog is retired from service, sometimes it will be kept as a family pet, given to a close friend or relative or returned to the training center where there are always people willing to adopt them - again, it depends on the person’s individual circumstances.
miss molly IS the best 🥲🥲🥲 such a good pupperoni, melts my heart in the best way… if only my labradoodles were capable of the concentration required to become guide certified but their poodle genes make them crazy/easily distracted shnuggle bugs haha they’re still extremely smart though

I very rarely think about the fact that I cannot see at all, but as I am writing my book I need to talk about it. The cane did a great job of finding the obstacles, and Miss Molly did a great job of avoiding them.

Guide dogs are trained to go on command while working. Yes, accidents can still happen, but dealing with it is part of the training.
