That bonnet extension is a hidden gem . Not many people know about it . Thanks for showing us. I am hoping to hold the charge and keep continuous supply by plugging in my battery pack jump starter to avoid any resets hope that works and saves me a lot of problems later. I am about to but a replacement battery from Mercedes for C300 . Price quoted $240 for the battery. They wanted $490 with fitting so I’m glad I saw your video it will hopefully save me money even though I’m terrified to do it myself .

Thanks for video. Please note that before disconnecting the cables from the old battery terminals, it would be better to connect another 12V fully charged battery using the special connectors provided for. The red (+) connector is located right in front of the battery place, and is protected by a sliding red cover above it. For the (-) connection you can use the bronze connector located nearby, or any other part of the engine or chassis. Doing so, all settings and adjustments (time, date, exterior lighting, automatic mirrors foldind, etc.) will remain steadily unchanged. When finished with new battery installation, those extra connections may be carefully taken away.

@@rob-fb5xs Yes my friend, you are absolutely right! There is a great possibility for the positive terminal to touch the body of the car during the removal of the old battery. One safe solution is to isolate the terminal by wrapping it with a thick paper or plastic cover. Thank you for your observation.

Niko, this car does have already an auxiliary (second) battery connected to the system. Therefore there‘s no need to connect another battery while replacing the main battery. And yes, very important to isolate (wraping it up) the positive terminal when you disconnect it!
