As a guy I can say that the difficulty of obtaining multiple healthy quality options/relationships is what turns me off the most because it’s as if you making it easier for the next man but harder for yourself in terms of cockblocking your own options by being anchored by a relationship that you aren’t allowed to be the focus of nor be enough… might as well be single and mingle, that way you aren’t responsible for anyones needs and you don’t have to bargain for yours to be met.

The only think I dislike is the lies and deception . When it comes to Non consensual non monogamy ( cheating) some men want to have you for themselves but they want to explore. I think in the black communities we have given men the power to feel entitled to be sexually liberal while women are shunned from any deviation.

Have we forgotten about the AIDS pandemic back in the 90s? Have we forgotten about the rate of HIV infections in this country? Do we realise how high the infection rate is of STIs. Exchanging body fluids and orifices like that is disgusting. We know as people that condoms are not getting used, we shouldn't pretend like people are using condoms. This whole polyamory thing is complicated. People fail in relationships with one person but somehow think adding more people will be successful. This is disgusting.

I echo what Hika said about monogamy as we know and practice it now. It's really toxic, more so for women. As they have to be the monogamous ones in relationships while men get to be with multiple partners.
A lot of people think the core of polyamory is just promiscuity, and the main reason for wanting multiple partners is being able to sleep with multiple people at the same time. There's a misconception that polyamorous people must be sexually perverted, especially women, because society has kind of accepted that men cheat. So if a woman does it then there's gotta be something wrong with her.
The stigma is even worse in lgbtqia+ relationships.

I concur with Hika in the lie par but polyamory is not me at all. It bothers me seeing someone who has a person I guess and it bothers me when one is not honest. It’s such an inconvenience as Hika said. Be straight about it or just leave me alone as I am a monogamous typa woman. This sexuality and relationship thing is tricky shem.
