The tropical rainforest is one of Rimworld’s more challenging biomes: A warm, wet jungle with choking overgrowth, survival in the tropical rainforest biome will not be easy. Wild predators and frequent diseases will make life difficult for our colonists, who will struggle to find free land to build on. Additionally, we are settling on a tile featuring mountainous terrain, extensive cave networks and a unique river that runs halfway underground.
We are continuing this playthrough from a Naked Brutality scenario in Rimworld Ideology that eventually evolved into a small tribal colony in the cold bog. After obtaining the first part of the archonexus map, we select five colonists for the quest to find the next piece, so we are starting with some items and equipment. Nonetheless, we are settling on a fresh new tile in the middle of the rainforest and have to start a new base from scratch to survive the dangers of the jungle on Randy Random "Losing is fun difficulty" with the threat scale cranked up to 500%.
With the Rimworld Biotech DLC, we also see the introduction of children and reproduction, lots of mechanoid additions, and an extensive gene system that allows the modification of our pawns on the genetic level. Additionally, we see skill teaching, pollution and vampires (or Sanguaphages) introduced to Rimworld, as well as several new races, quests and objects.
Rimworld is a Sci-Fi colony builder simulation game focused on managing a small group of survivors with the goal of eventually building a space ship to escape the planet. Rimworld is developed and published by Ludeon Studios. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the game went through several Alpha and Beta versions before seeing the release of the Rimworld 1.0 version in October 2018.

Vullek didn’t even convert until this episode, if the people crave a leader Light is the only answer
Agree. Vullek might be the "more powerful" sanguophage, but light has been in the colony since they left the cold bog.
Not even a question. It's light
Light is also a long time member of the group. Vullek is new. Even if he has the experience he doesn't have the senoirity.
hard agree!
And now let us venerate our two sang...oh crap they're biting each other to death! Quick, get the garden hose!
It was a fight for supremacy over the settlement!!
The idea of a vampire master named Light is hilarious, do ittt
And he happens to be a psychopath leading a colony of almost literal bleeding heart charity cultists, for a double irony burger!
How so?
@@lforlight Almost every form of vampire is considered a creature of the night. Having a vampire named Light is like naming Superman (who is powered by the sun) Moon Moon
or kryptonite man. @@SuperiorPosterior
@@SuperiorPosterior a vampire named light is more like a demon named holy
I think with Light being the one to wield the Staff of Sin, the relic of the Believers of Boyo, it only makes sense for him to be the leader
Gives me Blind Guardian vibes ...
I imagine that the people of Red Chappel see life of a sanguiphage as eternal dedication towards charity and redemption. A way to dedicate more than a single lifetime towards good works. That's why they are reveared.
I think Wyatt should be the leader, considering all he's done for the colony. Even though his traits and skills might be sub-par, the genes of the Sanguophage would counteract those, giving him a good social and canceling his ugly trait. It would also make him a amazing fighter. I love the idea of Wyatt finally being appreciated in the colony, and stepping up as a leader and protector of the innocent and the weak.
It would make him an amazing fighter ... who tends to run away at a single flame somewhere across the map, though. I use Sanguophages as skirmishers, they are great for that, but never ever in the center of the battle formation ... the line MUST hold.
I normally mix up some dedicated gene cocktails for those positions with fitting skills and compensate for their increased appetites with nuclear stomaches. It gives the doctors some carcinomas to play with occasionally, so it's a win-win for everyone.
17:30 They sell an Archotech Eye. Even a single one of those on your best shooter is extremely deadly. My current run has a sniper with one Archotech eye and Trigger-Happy and Shooting-Specialist. He has 1% Aiming-Time and an accuracy of 99,5%. He just doesn't miss and shoots almost twice a second.
And here is what Issak wrote about Maniac and his mother:
"Maniac as I've interpreted him, isn't really someone you can feel much sympathy or empathy for, a very, very bad man who's done some straight up EVIL things, but here in this drawing, in the hall of the dead, I think one can maybe feel even a twinge of sympathy for. Here's Maniac, even weaker than the last drawing, now needing a cane to move around, his back starting to ache & his joints starting to develop arthritis, Mourning the loss of his estranged mother, he & his family had a falling out due to his behavior back when he was young, he never really regretted leaving home, or missed his family much, reveling in the chaos he sowed, but now here he is, a mournful man, older, wiser, regretful of a life-time of evil that can't ever be atoned for, and now no longer a chance to reconcile with his mom, as she now sleeps peacefully in a bed of stone, in a mausoleum under the mountain. And worst of all is that there's no one to console him, nobody really wants him around, nobody likes him enough to even think of trying to offer some kind of kindness or empathy, Took & Swiggs probably hope he drops dead soon, they only saved him from his imprisonment because A: he's useful (or rather was.) In a fight, and B: he's an old man nearing the end. They'll feed him & give him board but that's about it, it's a sad thing but you can't really say he doesn't deserve to suffer for his crimes."
The sniper rifle is probably useful for Maniac, so he can keep his distance from the rhinos.
Gift-wrapping it for him with the tag "so you can finally keep your bloody distance"
No contest, Light is the only sensible choice, as Vullek is but a newcomer. And Light has been instrumental to the colony all through, even before it formally became itself, back in the Jingz village. Plus, tons of delicious irony points for Light the psychopathic light-hating vampire leading a colony of charity worshippers.
The colony has taken shape well. Looking forward to how the "established" part of this campaign goes.
I never thought about it, but seeing Dmitry wag his tail in that fan art has filled me with indescribable joy
And here is what Issak wrote about Took, Skwiggs, Ellie and their newborn baby:
"Took & Swiggs character development has been just amazing to see, (or rather my headcanon of their development, i can't speak for everyone. :D) & while I hope they're stories don't end anytime soon it kinda feels like an ending you'd see at the end of a romantic drama movie. Considering that they all live inside a man-made hole in the side of a mountain, live mostly Isolated from the larger world & the fact that the rainforest is a hot, muddy, humid & dank environment, it doesn't seem very practical for them to be dress like they're going to a fancy imperial ball, plus Took & Swiggs are very much people of the land so to speak, hunting & raising animals (and cooking them.) being they're chosen ways of life, so naturally they're marriage isn't anything grand or spectacular, but rather a small wholesome affair with their friends & loved ones, with humble clothes that have definitely seen better days. (The developersof rimworld need to add a tailoring option to repair & maintain clothes.) Kevin is the "priest" overseeing the entire thing, I drew him here trying to look like he isn't happy for the two of them & Ellie but failing at it & looking like he's about to tear up at this, ( Kevin despite being an ass at times i think is losing that misogynistic trait, slowly of course.) and Ellie acting as the ring bearer, two simple steel rings that Wyatt forged per their request, overjoyed that her parents are finally together in marriage, as for the two lovebirds I imagine there looking forward to the future happiness of their new marriage & child being born."
I like accepting the 9 imperials for 25 days - sounds difficult! And that legendary sniper would look mighty fitting in the hands of a certain budding hotshot . . .
I'm wondering if it'd be possible to give them a fancy bunkhouse 😅 building so many bedrooms just seems repetitive. Also - what about the hospitality mod for this charity themed playthrough?
Deadshot Ellie, make it so
imagine how many rhinos and elephants could be shot at point blank range by some senior huntsman, lol .
I think Light being the permanent leader would make sense. "A Mage that got bitten and turned into a vampire to increase his understanding about life and the life of his colony. With this he found a new way of life, a new way to evolve into the perfect charity community. Now he is the leader and bites his own colonists to dedicate them to charity forever." Something like this I guess :D The name also fits so well with him being a vampire and the colony being tunnelers. He is like the ying in the yang :D
11:18 Vulek's helm is of that mod.
Great episode. I fully support Light as a colony leader. He has endured so much, is really powerful and this seems like a next logical steps. Plus having a blind man as a leader is somehow poetic, even though he is a bit mad :D
On the topic of a quest: Well you have to accept. This will be the greatest act of charity up to this point. Should be interesting and hard.
Vulek is still using one of the vikings helmets
Light went from that one weird uncle with brain damage (literally) to proud vampire welding the legendary Staff of Sin, he deserves the leadership
I like the idea of turning Ellie, and giving here the leader position.
If I had youtube at Issak's age and saw my fanart on Pete's channel I'd be absolutely ecstatic. Good on you Issak!
I think light is the more of leader for a time. Or the leader must choose the next by turning them.
Please Pete, there must be SOMETHING we can do to make it so Maniac stops getting rekt by the manhunted rhinos. It is pretty comical that it keeps happening though, lol
What weapon is he using? Hunters tend to aim from further away if you give them a longer range weapon
Pete went out and hunted them down
@@ekaterinadzyubak197 unfortunately he is already using a sniper rifle. The meme of Ellie getting that legendary sniper rifle is too good to pass up, so maybe Maniac's next step is a charge lance? I think its range is a bit less than the sniper, but deals more damage per shot...
@@dianawelch4920 well if he is just refusing to stay at range, maybe he is in on the joke and is doing it on purpose, to give us a good show 😜
ellie will make a great vampire cult leader in a years time, yes indeed.
So, who should become the colony's leader? Light? Vullek? Somebody else? Enjoy :)

Light would make the most sense as the colonies leader in general. But the only reason you need a leader in the first place is the Bloodfeeder meme, which is only possible due to Vullek introducing vampirism into the colony a couple of episodes ago. So Vullek joining the colony and showing it's colonists how superior he is, up to the point of being revered by everyone, would make him a fitting leader in my opinion. He is the one who kicked of the Bloodfeeder meme, so he is the one who is going to benefit from it. Also plays into the whole "vampires are masters of manipulation" kind of thing.
Light should be leader, perhaps replaced by Ellie later.
I'm not sure if Light thematically would fit that role, considering his psychopathy. Light to me personally seemed more like the colony's trump card, to be used as a weapon against those who deserve it, with Light all to happy to use his gifts to hurt other people.
@@BrownOwl2036 a psychopath leader isn't as odd a concept as you might like to think, particularly when we're talking about a cave dwelling cannibal cult.
Light being a pillar and a founding member of the colony, it seems appropriate to give him leadership
I think the young sanguiphage should be the permanent leader. She was the first true sanguiphage that believed in Boyo
I'll chip in with suggestions:
Invite the royals and take the legendary sniper and heavy SMG. Former is comparable in power to charged lance and will make Maniac less likely to get in trouble when hunting.
Crown Vulek as the colony leader.
I’d say Wyatt. It fits, what with his noble knight role. He’s already a powerful warrior, and he seems a good person. If you make him a vampire, all it does is make it better; an eternal saint of honour and charity, defending the innocent.
I’d also say the sniper rifle or the honour is worthwhile for the colony, especially given their precepts
9:32 - "Let's ensure our [vampire worshipping colonists] get some fresh air once in a while."
I believe that Kaiser(in) Keki under brilliant leadership would see the need to keep the empire happy. :)
Not to mention; in darkness, there can only be one guiding Light.
Light, more deserving and also a good "thematic" name for a leader of a colony trying to be good - "We may be vampires who live in the dark, but that doesn't mean we don't want to bring some _light_ to the (rim)world!"
Light strikes me as a leader. He's been there longer and he simply looks like a leader.
I'm quite suprised about that no one hasnt done a small video of the whole colony getting fed up about the rhino hunter needing help like every single episode
my left ear is lonely
I think you can easily twist execution, organ use and cannibalism to fit a charitable goal. Like you can exploit the concept of evil to dehumanize a group of people, the easier choice being pirates, and use them as blood bags, or take their organs (because they are evil) and then ¨donate¨ them to ¨good¨ people who need them, or you can use their flesh to feed the hungry, which can also be seen as a means of repentance in death for the guilty. It is the whole evil acts are not evil if you do them to evil people. I think the conscept of the group slowly having their values twisted in this way would be very interesting to explore.
Though that make might sense in a more normal rimworld play through, here there doesn’t seem to be much of a fiery dark side to this colony, and it just doesn’t make sense that they would overnight go crazy and break some of their moral guideline and rules
@@i.w.russell7453 I mean, they do worship blood sucking vampires, I think that is a pretty good crazyness motivator, but hey, that is just my opinion.
@@Somerandomguy524 worshiping Vampires is not inherently crazy in the lore of rimworld, and could make sense because that could mean damn near eternal dedication to a good cause
@@i.w.russell7453 Fine, I get it, ultimately it is up to Pete where he wants to take the story. I will leave it at that.
light is literally the shining star in a dark world full of pirates, raids and violence. he protected the charitable ones and peaced out aggressors where they emerge. and finally its save to say, that light as a sangophage will be around long enough to spread the word of charity across the planet and beyond.
so vulek is the obvious choice for a leader;)
I think Kevin is already the leader he resolves conflict, guides people to the belief of Boyo, and councilors people in need. He should be the one to become the next sanguophage and the bloodfeeder master.
(I'm almost caught up, trying only to comment on things that haven't been said yet.)
So the Pain Party was hilariously painful indeed! It may have had bonuses to environment, but that atmosphere.. whoo boyo!
Kyle making fun of Brandon's nephew. Child Ellie talked with Dmitriy about getting drunk.. lol
Wyatt expressing negativity toward both the parents one after the other. Dmitriy (beast boy) insulting Skwiggs on her beast taming!
The amusing part was Maniac and Skwiggs joking about cleaning. "You remember how we cleaned blood and body parts off the temple floor? Now it's just blood and paper cups."
At this point you've basically driven the world's rhino population close to extintion. You should keep a breeding couple for conservation purposes.
I think Ellie should be the colony leader after she becomes the next sanquiphage
That sniper rifle looking good and lets name the new elephant Major Keki.
Shoutout from Argentina 🇦🇷 to my brother Pete, your videos are absolutely the best
The pirates need to be raided, in revenge. What a disrespectful move they did with the Toxic Spewer
I like it, get pro-active for once.
@@sourcererseven3858they were interfering with the colony's ability to give charity. Time for the pirates to pay for their crimes in blood (packs). Let them vampires eat!
Always glad to see the Rimworld uploads, Pete!
Light for Leader, the perennial savior of the colony
Earl of Bronze disapproves of not choosing Elephants :/
I feel like the royals wanting to spend some days on the colony kinda goes against the boyo way, they don't really need help, they just want to spend some time somewhere else and also be a nuiscence, but i can also see the believers wanting to take them in despite all that
One could argue that having a bunch of vacationers claiming beds and food that could also go to those that actually need it isn't exactly in the spirit of charity.
Those weapons are pretty tasty, and honor is easy to come by, so do the quest for the shootbangs. Maybe start making more room for them first with the time you've got before accepting though. You know its gotta be Light, tbh. Open to leadership changing for sure if the story plays out in ways where it fits.
Light should be the first leader, even tho it would be cool if he was just soome kind of regent for Ellie.
(Ellie kinda resembles "Petra" from u/Fonzawa's comics on the rimworld subreddit)
Give it to Light and with the intention of passing it on. If the Believers are to be charitable then so too shall their leader, and the ultimate way to do that is to eventually pass the mantle.
Light: Psychopath
Vullek: Annoying voice
Only one of these says "leader" to me in a tropical rainforest setting.
Honestly, if we felt like getting crazy with it and the series goes on long enough, it would be interesting to have Ellie become a sanguophage and become the leader down the line. She could be a figurehead of hope (the first child born to this new colony) and strength (hauls rhinos at 7 years old).
14:02, now thats what i call a nice floor. maybe you could use some of that in the colony
Weird, the audio balance in this video is shifted towards the right speaker channel by around 20%.
Sadly this is also the case for the next video.. and the one after that too... Hopefully it's not every video on the channel after this point. (edit: it gets fixed)
We can adjust balance in Windows, but still, it's a blemish on what was otherwise a very high quality production for many years.
Man thank you, I thought I was imagining this. Had to do some sanity check with different headphones and music myself.
I said it before and I will say it again, make maniac a vampire for redemption.
I believe Light should be the leader temporarily, and train up Ellie as his eventual replacement (let her age up a bit before making her immortal - wouldn't wanna be a child forever).
I say Ellie because she's been a lifelong member of the colony and the faith, so she makes a lot of sense once she's a bit older.
Its always a good day when Pete posts a Rimworld video! Love ya bud!
Hi Pete!
I think you should make Wyatt into a vampire and ascend him to leadership.
The Rhinos started this War .... AND I am gonna finish it :)
Leader suggestion: Make Wyatt a Sangophage, his new Penitent nature makes him perfect for leader?
Let Light shine them a bright light in these trying days, so that they may be guided in their path for more charitable end.. until eternity ends
Legendary sniper really usefull especially with good shot, finding it somewhat early is really good bonus.
on the other hand having the imperial trade is also usefull. but i think that can be done at later time (and is better for lategame anyway), now i think defense and reliable weapons should be the priority.
Is it just me or is the Pete's voice louder on the right when using headphones?
I say give it to Light temporarily. After Ellie ages up to at least 13 turn her into a sanguophage and pass the mantle to her. Lights a little too ruthless to be a long-term leader of charitable vampires and Vulek only recently joined and only converted this episode.
It's gotta be Light.
It's got to be Light for leader, right? He helped found Red Chapel, he's been a Believer the longest... Still, to me there is a terrible irony to a colony dedicated to charity and good works giving so much power to a psychopath. It's the best choice, the logical choice and yet... There is a sense of impending doom hanging over Red Chapel. Let's hope Light uses his power wisely.
Light, definitivly, i feel he deserves it
Whether you give the Bloodfeeder Master to Light or Vullek it should probably be only temporary (I could maybe be talked into Vullek permanently)
I can see arguments for both in the meantime.
Light:
Pros - Been kind of a natural leader and key figure in fights, missions, caravans, etc and has been solid all around for the colony.
Negatives - Only 29/30 years old vampire. Abrasive Psychopath. Seems more like a second-in-command who handles the colonies day to day (night to night) operations. More of like a Sgt. or "Gunny" with boots on the ground leading while directly in the mud with the troops after getting his orders from higher up.
Vullek:
Pros - 1500 year old vampire who looks like he's only 23 years old (This would be a cool backstory). As a former officer he has experience in leadership, while being a steadfast intellectual optimist who doesn't "waste" his time on dumb labor or art seems like a natural for a leader.
Negatives - Annoying voice. Recent convert.
Gotta be Viscount Keki
It's gotta be light or Wyatt (becoming the next sanguophage in a year) as leader
Welcome Back Pete, hope you are well
I think Light should be master for now, and when she grows to a full adult, Ellie should become a Sanguiphage and the new leader.
I'd really prefer to see Wyatt become a sanguophage and step up as the leader. He'd have to switch to something other than the Redhawk, due to pyrophobia, but he's always been there for the colony. He's nearly always in the most danger in combat, being the front liner, and it'd make him nigh-invincible and even more of a beastly melee combatant; not to mention healing faster and getting rid of his scars and other permanent wounds. It'd also cancel out his ugliness, which is the primary reason he's disliked and help his social skill to improve his relationships further. Lastly it'd further boost his already formidable (though overshadowed by the other psycasters') psychic abilities. If that's not the option then I'd lean heavily toward Light over Vullek. Vullek just hasn't been a Believer long enough to become the leader, while Light has been a cornerstone of the Believers from the beginning.
Light is more thematic, but Vullek is the "objectively" better choice here, as Steadfast and Optimist will allow him to easily weather the -12 penalty for being the colony leader. I'd go with Vullek.
Captain Keki?
Colonel Keki?
Comrade keki?
Kommandant Keki?
Maybe Queen Keki if there's a tragic shift in the throne's heir?
Thank you. A bright light on the end of a shit day.
Sniper rifle is the way to go.
Also vote for Light. Who else should lead you in the darkness?
How about Khan Keki?
And for the quest outcome I would suggest the goods, as they make it possible for the Believers to continue helping others.
Could go for Khagan too, perhaps a little easier to say.
The power of the flesh, inherent in the bodies of the blessed few, surpasses anything the evil-doers of the world may have. We must, and we shall, use these powers for the good of the many.
-Believers of Boyo Manifesto, Chapter 3
Sovereign Keki is my vote for the new Elelelelephant :)
I'm against Vulek being leader. He feels too much like an opportunist that stayed here and the stubbornly refused to convert for too long.
I'd love to see someone else than Light be the leader, he feels more like the ultimate advisor or priest or something than a leader.
Maybe temporarily, until the next leader is obvious and chosen and introduced to being a sangophage in a year or so?
Light for President
To determine the leader you should have a 'vote' - using the social tab to determine which candidate each colonist votes for based on who they have a better relationship with. Let the people decide! 🙂
"Loading up the caravan with as much as they can carry."
8:58 That says 152/70 kg, A little more than _twice_ what they can carry. 🙂
Would be nice to see an army of bugs, I belive you can do this with an animal specialist
Inviting the royal seems more like a favor than charity, but I guess you could swing it by assuming the colony is now ready to show others their way of life and possibly convert them? I don't know if trying to convert someone from another faction is considered hostile or just bad manners, but the Believers of Boyo might risk it.
Fun episode Pete.
p.s. Please give us the BG3 series!
Vullek was the original sangouphage, right? Make him the leader first, and every time you get a new sangouphage change the leader to the next one in the line!
I think it would be too early to change the leadership. personally, I am a fan of wyatt becoming the next vampire in the colony and leader right after. Also, i think you should accept the quest for the weapons. 12 honor is nice, but i feel like the weapons will be invaluable later down the line. the smg has ellies name written on it and with a legendary sniper there might be less rhino revenges because theyll get oneshot ;-)
How about Khan Keki? It's got a nice ring to it! Let's get some Mongol vibes in this series!
Would you please consider adding some dark lamps/torches to the bedroom and storage areas? At least for me, they are barely visible at nighttime.
Will there be a continuation of baldurs gate? Apologies if its a repeat question, I'm not caught up with all of the videos yet.
Light4Leader!
King Keki!
Get the Honor.
Dammit, Kevin.
For me, I'm torn between Light and Wyatt as the leader.
I think there is something with the sound volume. It sounds like the left speaker is a litle quiet for me.
