Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu is one of the oldest Japanese martial arts. It was founded in the 15th century by Iizasa Choisai Ienao, who was a famous spearman and swordsman of that time. You can still observe in the techniques of the school the characteristic movements due to the fighting conditions of a real battlefield: wearing a 35 kg ancient “Yoroi” armor, moving on potentially uneven ground, the warrior sees his movements slowed and restricted, and he has to strike on particular spots to efficiently go through his opponent’s own protection.
The Sugino Dojo, branch of the main line Katori Shinto Ryu was founded by Sugino Yoshio in the 20' and is currently led by his son Yukihiro Sugino, at the Yushinkan Sugino Dojo in Kawasaki.

I heard Katori Shinto-ryu Ninjutsu training focuses on "Defense Against Ninja Attacks" or "Anti-Ninjutsu" but does it cover other things ninjutsu such as:

Hidden Weapons

Disguise

Infiltration
Sabotage
Assassination
Commando Tactics
Scouting
Survival Skills
Wilderness Skills
and Illusion.

No one who has any knowledge of it will discuss it with you, out of a duty to the school.if you actually research koryu and Japanese history you will discover that most of what you think you know about 'ninjutsu' is simply sensationalised fiction. By way of a start - try to find a single credible source for any historical 'ninja' assassination.

Isnt it sugino himself at the naginata kata? It sure looks like him. He usually dont allow himself being filmed though.

I don't think he minds being filmed during demonstrations. That's kind of the point of those demonstrations...
I dont know, I know when we are training at the dojo, he lashes out at us if we film him.
The answer we always get it, that he dont want people to try copying him, because he isnt perfect himself, and they wont learn anything from it. At least that is the translation we get :P

In a demonstration, you offer a public presentation of your "best" performance.
It's not, at all, the same thing as practicing at the dojo.
Most teachers I know, no matter the art, refuse to be filmed during seminars or classes as well.
(Especially because of the CZcams era, when anyone can cut the exact moment the teacher shows what mistakes not to do, and present the teacher as an ignorant...)
Yes it's him. Sugino sensei agrees to being film during demonstration only. Never in class because sometime he point out errors to the students by mimicking them. He doesn't want images of those errors to be shared publicly.
