- What's up guys! Welcome back to the Creative Channel!
I've got another Home Free music reaction video for you guys on the CC! Helplessly Hoping. The day has finally arrived!! It took me some time to edit this one because I kept getting drawn into the beauty, and recognizing new things I didn't catch in the initial reaction. Nonetheless, here it is and OH, was it BEAUTIFUL!! The harmonies were GORGEOUS! Absolutely breathtaking!
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope you do too! Thanks for watching! :)
P.S. Several outbursts lol
Here's the link to the original video:
• Crosby, Stills & Nash ...
(Crosby, Stills & Nash - Helplessly Hoping (Home Free Cover))

The matching of vowels is even more impressive when you consider that you have two Minnesotans (Adam and Rob), a Texan (Tim), a Georgian (Austin), and a guy from Alabama (Chance). Getting three southern dialects to blend with two Yankees is a feat unto itself.
Very true indeed!
Three very different Southern accents at that.
Tim lived in Boston
For a few years that can mess people up lol
Did someone say Yankee? Where's the New Yorker?
😂😂
The harmonies are so precise and flawless, fantastic. Home Free has the richest harmonies of any band I've ever heard - this is no longer acapella, this is voice painting....
'Voice painting'. Nice observation.
They are so in tune and in sync with each other they are able to sound like one person so much its scary. And the harmonies... Its unbelievable how just 5 people can sound like an actual huge church pipe organ.
Dude, I am convinced you could pick a song by throwing a dart at their discography and never be disappointed. These guys are simply a blessing to the ear.
"Frickety Frick Frack!!" Haha, That's exactly what I said! Lol! They sing so tight together and it was as smooth as a lake at dawn.
The things I say even surprise me sometimes! I agree!
Many have considered this HF's gold standard of A Capella performances for purity and perfection with their 5 part harmonies, until Brothers in Arms, which is a masterpiece.
"That's it?" Exactly what I thought the first time I heard it. Too short for such magnificence.
Until Brothers in Arms this was the song that was a total Eargasm.
Got to love Timothy adding that little bit of bass sauce.
I love when they’re coming to the end of the song and Tim holds that low note forever; it sounds just like a bagpipe drone. Another 5 part harmony is “I Can’t Outrun You “, Chance lead. It’s gorgeous.
YES! Exactly!
Their 5 part harmony songs are just amazing. Every single one of them
In the Blood is another great harmony one.
Oh man ! That's one of my favorite performance from them...they never disappoint on anything they sing
I second this! It's my favorite
It’s my absolute favourite! 😍
I love the ones where they all sing, even Adam. Their harmonies are so close and so amazingly done. I love this one. Thanks for your reaction
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed :)
Their rendition of Auld Lang Syne is another masterpiece! Great reaction!
Thanks for watching! :)
This is the 1st example of just how good these guys are !!! This is why so many of us are so very much into this group...THEY ARE SPECIAL !!! Chance was supposedly the driving force behind this, so kudo's to him !!
Kudos indeed!
@@creativecrewfam please look at his latest solo work, a cover of Driver's Licence...it's awesome !!
One of the most genuinely talented group of men 👏 ❤
I love how everyone is always showing the almost physical “need” for it to continue. I'm in that group; every time.
When people react to Home Free someone like me often warns them to steer clear of their cover of Mayday by CAM until they've been exposed to enough to know a bit about what each member brings to the table. Their cover of Mayday has a surprise that goes right over the heads of people new to the group. I believe you are ready. I think you know enough about them to where you'll be appropriately shocked. Enjoy, even not considering the surprise its an amazing song.
OHHHH, is right...The blend of the upper range with Tims lower range gives me CHILLS everytime. And Chance starting out, what a beautiful voice!
This is a cover. The original was by Crosby, Stills and Nash back in my younger days. It's always been a favorite. Home Free performed it beautifully!
I have to remember not to drink liquids while watching your videos. That's twice now I darn near choked. Other really good ones for harmonies if you haven't gotten to them yet are How Great Thou Art and One Man Band and Seven Bridges Road. Thanks as usual for a great reaction.
Thanks for watching! Guess I need a disclaimer 😜
I grew up listening to CSN & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. But I must say since I discovered Home Free they more than do justice to all the songs they cover. And this song is perfection to me with the 5 part harmonies. I can't say enough about how great these guys are & humble while still staying respectful to the original song.
The original is short, too. The harmonies are similar to Crosby, Stills, and Nash, but with added bass. This was Chance's idea -- video and song -- and it is pure perfection.
Wow!?! --- Yeah! It's a Wow! Every bit of it and then some.
Go check out Go Rest High On That Mountain gorgeous harmonies!!!!
It is rare for a cover to exceed the beauty of the original. But Home Free has a knack for it. Their cover of When a Man Loves a Woman is another example of their prowess of excellence.
It's not hard to believe if you remember that Home Free are the BEST in the business!!!
Biscuit! One of my favourites. FricketyFrickFrack. I'm stealing this one.
Haha go right ahead 😜
Go back and listen again and notice the sustain Tim does. Up until Brothers in Arms I thought this was Home Free's best harmony, now I cant say for sure which has the best harmonies either one is great and both are a master class on how to to harmony. Pure ear candy
Love , love the very rare amount of time we actually get to hear Adam sing. Makes me very happy.🥰 Thanks for your great reaction as usual.
Thanks for watching! :)
This is a song originally done by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I never thought anyone else could do justice to it but these guys took it over the top. Amazing. 🌺✌️
What about Tim solo? Can't help falling in love with only a piano
His arrangement, I believe he did this for his grandmother or a friend's. Really love his rendition. Thanks for the great reaction.
Yes please! I can't even begin to express how very beautiful it is! I'm not being dramatic, I just want you to hear it because I I love it so and want you to feel the love and beauty that his voice brings! ♥️
Watching him try not to curse is great! He makes up words as he goes along.🐝🤗❤️ This is one of Home Free’s best, in my opinion.🐝🤗❤️
Hard to believe that is one they did during quarantine, they recorded it in separate places. One of my favs
Chris this is by far THE BEST reaction to this masterpiece. You had me in stitches with your personality.
Haha thanks for watching!! I’m glad you enjoyed :)
Best harmonies + best ad libs + best arrangements = Home Free.
They are so good it hurts...... Buisquit!😅😅 Frickety frick frack?!😂😂 sugar??? 😂😂😂 I love your reaction!
Haha I’m glad you enjoy! 😜
@@creativecrewfam My kids, grandkids, and now great-grandkids have always teased me for saying Sugar! I'm happy to see I am not the only one to do it. :)
The genius of Home Free is they always leave you wanting more.
Since you’ve already done My Maria I suspect you are ready for Mayday
This is a masterclass in 5 part harmony. And then you have Brothers In Arms. Simply magnificent and both Helplessly Hoping and Brothers In Arms are masterpieces and the gold standards for acapella groups.
If you want amazing harmonies, you need to do How Great Thou Art. I guarantee, Biscuit!
This just shows how fantastically good they are. I recently, by accident, listened to a video of Home Free and every once since then just gets better and better.
🤣 I thought I was the only one that said 'sugar' like that! Yes the song is way too short! Love your reactions Chris.
Haha thanks! :)
@@creativecrewfam I work as a food steward at a minimum security prison. One day I dropped a wrapped tray upside down on the floor and I said 'SUGAR!!' The guys that I supervise got a kick out of that. I try to shine a Light at work and God is good.
Listen to "How Great Thou Art" You'll be overwhelmed!
I just love these men. Damn, they can sing.
Dude. Tim's bass riding underneath it all is ridiculous. This is one of my all time favorite Home Free covers. CSN was brilliant and this cover completely does them justice.
In the Blood was my audition song for the Acapella Choir I'm in; sang it through the first chorus. Perfect song for a Bass with some range. 😏
YAY! I was SO looking forward to this reaction! Now, let's see how it goes... ;-)
Instant eargasm!!!!!!
Good reaction.
Oh my goodness!!! That was so hilarious!!!
Thank you for your biscuiting, love you for it. This short vid is very different for me. Vocally and visually stunning it is really a piece of art
This is literally Home Free's masterpiece, and showcases the difference between talent and skill. Talent is innate, but skill is talent honed by time spent working with that talent. The harmonies aren't that tight and the timing that precise without a lot of work.
This is gorgeous. You will love Brothers In Arms, their latest and very moving.
It’s in my previous videos! Check it out :)
This was just genius by Chance. I can't get enough of it. It's too short so I just keep playing it over and over. Lol
These guys are if nothing else ABSOLUTELY amazingly In sync
I still love CSN's version. Maybe it's the mood I was in when I first heard CSN sing it.
Love your reaction! These guys go beyond harmonizing!
Absolutely LOVE your reactions... and of course...."Biscuit". !!! Love it Chris!
Thank you so much! 😊
If you have not yet, I highly recommend VoicePlay. They complete the trilogy of ACapella fun.
Choose any of Home Free video,
They are all good, but here is a few recommendations to start with
Try Everything
Can’t Stop This Feeling
Love Train
Meet in the Middle
Women, Amen/Female
I’ve been waiting for you to do this one. Your expressions says it all. Lol. Keep it up👍
Haha that they do 😜 Thanks for watching!
Holy harmonies, a is what I usually say about this one. Although, I usually say that about most Home Free songs, but with this one I always say it! 😁🤣
Thanks for the reaction! 🥰🙏
What continues to blow my mind is the fact that Home Free has 1.3 million subscribers on CZcams. Nonsense videos on Tik Tok have nearly 40 million. There must be so many views of HomeFree videos who don’t subscribe.
This song is so ridiculously perfect, you actually have to sit and recover when it's over. Home Free absolutely nails it.
I always enjoy watching someone listen to this for the first time.
Just perfect by these guy's. The harmonies or just spot on. Nobody like them. 😊😊
There was a moment there where I swear your eyes rolled back in your head. Lol. This is one of my favorite songs of Home Free, for all the reasons you mentioned. Love your reactions.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoy, and honestly…it probably happened lol :)
I think you'd enjoy "What We Ain't Got" and a "Story Time with Tim" where he talks about singing that song the previous night. An audience member posted a video of the performance he's referring to - it's called "Home Free Oxygen". Again, the whole first verse is song solo (by Tim Foust) with no vocal backup.
Sends shivers up the spine, listening to those tight harmonies. Great analysis as usual.
In all the reactions I've watched, the ones who really know music always ask is that all? Is it over? No, not yet. 😁
Love Jesus! Love HF!! Love you and your reaction!❤️
Thanks for watching!
I forgot how good this is! Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks for watching! :)
I absolutely LOVE how you acknowledge the Ultimate Creator!!!
Yes yes!!
Told ya! It’s one of my favorites because of what you said…their harmonies, their cutoffs. The blending is so good. Home Free just does harmonies so well. At Christmastime, check out Auld Lang Syne by them. Love this and loved your reaction Chris1
I’m glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching :)
The ability to start and stop together is unreal. So good
Perfection at it's finest!
A masterclass in 5 part harmony. Shows the masters of talent they have.
Biscuit, Sugar, Frickety-Frack, Wow! Holy Crap! I think you said it all....
They only performed this song a couple times live. I was fortunate to see them do at the Ryman..
This is definitely a song I wish was longer with them doing it...
Tassilo you have definitely recognized how to describe their singing
This cover makes me appreciate the Crosby Still and Nash original all the more. Their harmonies are completely humanly produced. Saw them live, with Neil Young, in 1970.
Are you implying that HF is cheating? This is ALL real...
Please react to their rendition of "I Can't Out Run You" by Trace Adkins. Chance is really showcased and he does a fantastic job! The video is something special as well. Keep up the good work !
New to your channel! Saw the title and had to watch! It’s one of my favorites from Home Free! It’s beautifully done! Loved your reaction! I’ve subscribed!
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! I’m glad you enjoy :)
This is the first guy I’ve seen have an eargasm over them😮😎😊
They do the original by CSNY justice, but please do the original, which is mind blowingly beautiful.
You gotta do great harmonies when covering Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. If Young ever showed up
It’s an old (60’s or 70’s) song by Crosby, Stills and Nash! Listen to the original, please! 😺😍✌🏼
This little number achieves a level of perfection and beauty, both musically and lyrically, that I would be proud to offer it at God's feet if I were them.
Great reaction -- multiple biscuits and a frickety frick frack, was it? You're the best at explaining how they stay together and give us that wall of sound!!
i was supriused that you didnt notice just prior to the end hums...tim is holding a very long low note...great reaction as always
Brothers in Arms is up there with Helplessly Hoping. I guarantee that you'll end up biscuiting a lot as well.
You should check it out! It’s somewhere in my previous videos :)
@@creativecrewfam Oops! I should have done that first. LOL!
😜 no problem!
My first time hearing this,,,Biscuits and gravy I love them.❤
Oh thanks for this song. It is amazing what these 5 men can do with their voices. Love your reaction, fun to watch also.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoy :)
You must hear the original Chris!! This group to cover is difficult. They nailed it. That bass omg!!
Another all vocal is Can't our Run you. Great reaction! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! :)
Got to love when Adam sings! In the base I believe was Tim and chance Adam could have been in there too
Their newest release, “Brothers in Arms”, will blow your mind if you like harmonies and emotion.
In my previous reactions, check it out! :)
James Joyce in one of his novels coined a term to identify beauty of all kinds - esthetic arrest. The human mind, when it encounters beauty, just stops. Thoughts, activity, even time stops in the presence of beauty. This song is that.
Loveeeeee that phrase!
Your reaction was FANTASTIC! SUBBED! You said the same thing a lot of home fries did... "That's IT?" Don't stop now, keep up the Home Free journey!❤
Thanks for watching and subscribing! :)
The longer you go without hearing the third accapella group of the big three (Voiceplay) the more you are gonna kick yourself.... try "My Mama Told Me" or "Hoist the Colors" or "Bang" i promise any one of those songs will get at least a couple "BISCUITS!!!" out of you. I know you homefries out there know that when he hears Geoff's bass line at the beginning of "my mama told me" it will flip his noodle! It did me and ive been a voiceplay/home free/ptx fan forYears! Somemebody back me up here lol
I know I know haha. Soon, I promise! …probably going to record some this weekend :)
Giving you an AMEN!
I think Geoff and Tim together would be awesome. Geoff doing Monster Mash is great, and a little creepy!
