  • Mahindra revealed 5 brand new electric vehicle concepts and announced its plans to sell EVs under two separate brands - XUV and BE. We had a chance to explore these SUVs at their global reveal in the UK and learnt more about the INGLO platform that powers them as well. Major components used in these SUVs will be sourced from Volkswagen's global MEB platform, with similar presets seen for the steering, pedal and suspension points.
Mahindra will be launching these brand new electric SUVs starting December 2024 with the Mahindra XUV e8, followed by the XUV e9, BE5, BE7 and BE9. Save for the BE9, all SUVs will be launched by the end of 2026. What we do know is that the XUV e8 is the electric XUV700 with an enhanced infotainment setup and a platform swap, the e9 is a sporty coupe derivative of the e8, the BE5 previews a ZS EV rival, the BE7 is an XUV700 sized family SUV, while the BE9 is a 4-seater grand tourer.

With the Mahindra 's reputation of delayed delivery... With These beautiful designs will surely take 3yrs-5yrs to deliver once it hits the showroom in 2025 or 2026..

For most of the people design matters a lot but actually it's performance depends how stable it is..

It's going to do well in the Middle East if launched. I see a lot of Chinese random EVs for that price range

At first, I was disappointed that they looked so similar to the boxy Tesla truck, but as the video went on, I started wondering if I'm being unfair to Mahindra's first attempt at proper pure EVs. I look forward to buying one someday, hopefully it'll be the BE-09.

Alright. So considering the recent trend of people liking old stuff, would old car designs / drivetrains also be a "feature" down the road?
For example: Neo-retro roadsters, retro scooters, compact phones (under 6" screen phones!), the headphone jack 🥲, and so on.
The crazy fact is that businesses would consider these older products' functional elements as a "feature" and sell them as a premium, taking the consumers for a ride. (The thing that comes to my mind is Apple's MacBook Pro going back to scissor switches and having ports once again)

Hi pls help me with one confusion about whether I should spend Rs 11 lakh on an SUV now or get a hatchback for Rs 8 lakh and upgrade to an EV after 4-5 years

      It depends on your requirements.
If the hatchback fulfils your requirements, why shell out extra money?

300km of practical range is something which is so disappointing
500km practical range is what should be offered.

    1. Big horizonal screen and less height is just waste of space and money. Go with a screen like 13 inch tesla and put it in the centre.
    2. I think 2025 tata and other ev will also become better.
    3. If this design is 90% ready then that 10% will be a huge change because we all know the concepts always better but when it comes with real car the design will not be anything similar.

You buy a Toyota or a VW, you might get an error. But the error is in the entire batch. So your car gets recalled and fixed. You buy a MnM, each car has a refreshing unique error which never gets fixed. Now you choose. German / Japanese engineering vs Indian jugaad
