Time goes much too fast. William will be 40 in 2022. The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is next year. The babies born that day are now in college. Unbelievable.

I must tell you that at the time I was in Alcoholics Anonymous. For the next two weeks, our meetings were totally about our beloved Princess Di. And we were not in England. We were in Miami Beach. England's Rose, you are as beloved as ever.
It breaks my heart knowing that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Master Archie will never get a chance to see their beautiful Grandmother; Her Royal Highness Princess Diana. Princess Diana would have been so happy that her children (Prince William and Prince Harry) are now all grown up and have decided to live the rest of their lives as a father.
I am not a religious person, but may it be possible that she is in heaven guiding and protecting her brood?

If you have ever had to deal with a severely Narcissistic person at family, occupational or clinical level, you would not see it as quite so tragic.
Diana was infuriatingly attention-demanding, and insanely jealous.
She would have detested Catherine, gaslighted William, and played manipulative favouritism games with the children.
That is what Narcissistic parents and grandparents do.

She was kind, only in the most superficial manner.
She was capable of being sympathetic, briefly for the impression that it created.
She was HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE.
She was not a SERIOUS social fighter, but like all the Royal Family, she had been allocated certain Charities and causes. What Diana DID was use her FAME to draw attention to these causes.
Diana was a Narcissist who NEEDED admiration and constant attention to survive. Her Charity work got both admiration and attention.

Oh I remember as a teenager in Canada watching this gorgeous bride! Obviously the alarm clock had to be set as we are 5 hrs behind the UK. For hours I sat in front of that tv the kind you had to get up to change the channel lol! I believe that was the only time in my teen years that I got up sooo early! But would not have missed it for anything! Such a lovely day to remember!Thankyou🐝

She WAS NOT the lovely princess who spent hours trudging around muddy enclosures, teaching kids with disabilities to ride horses. In case you have never worked with them.... disabled children are often not exactly cute...... they are often slobbery, wobbly, smelly, flappy, nervous and uncooperative. Holding them on a horse takes a bit more time and committent than saying a few sweetly spoken words and holding their hand.
She WAS NOT the lovely princess who has been satisfied to give fifty years of her life to the tireless service of others.

I can’t help wondering what life would have been like if we still had Diana with us today.
If Diana was still with us in 2020, then by now, her obsessively attention-seeking behaviour would have revealed her for the extremely neurotic and Narcissistic person that she really was.

Where does the time go? I was 22 and living in San Diego 39 years ago. I woke up at 2 a.m. and watched the wedding as my Betamax recorded it. (I still have the tapes and the Betamax.) Looking at 20-year-old Diana, no one could imagine the marriage would fail, and she'd die 16 years later. She is frozen in time at age 36, so it is difficult to think of her as a grandmother. She would've turned 60 in 2021, and William will be 40 in 2022. If Charles had been faithful to Diana and treated her well, they would've celebrated 40 years of marriage next year. Such a tragedy they won't.

I watched the video you referred to from Diana's funeral after I read your post, and nearly 23 years later, seeing those Welsh Guards carrying Diana's heavy coffin on their arms and shoulders still packs a very emotional punch. No one could believe her body was in there. It took me three months after Diana's death to be able to watch her funeral. She has missed so much in the 22 years since she died. I will be 62 in September. She was of my Baby Boomer generation. It is not right that her peers are here, and she is not.
Queen Elizabeth inherired her mother's longevity genes. I think the Queen Mother would have lived a few more years if Princess Margaret were still alive. The death of a child, regardless of age, is brutal for a parent. Interestingly, The Queen Mother, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and former President Obama share the August 4th birthday. I hope The Queen outlives Charles, and William succeeds his grandmother. Many people who liked Diana feel the same way.

Wow, that long ago, huh? Princess Diana looked so beautiful in her wedding gown! I remember first hearing about Princess Diana from my mom when I was little. My mom truly admired her for her fashion sense was as well as how kind and charitable she was too. When I heard about what she did for Prince William and Prince Harry as children letting them have experiences that other children their ages would have like going to Disney World, that really made me smile a lot too. A woman that truly loved her family a lot.
The addition of glamor to the Royals faded too fast. May Her Royal Highness Princess Diana and HRH Prince Charles remain so and let no mistress cause the stress to the legendary Queen Diana of the United Kingdom and Queen of our Hearts.
At the time i thought it the best 7th birthday present ever that the heir to the throne chose to marry on my birthday. that is the logic of a seven year old for you. I watched that wedding live. I must say that I am at a loss as to why the Royal Channel is posting this almost 40 years later, seeing as how Diana was the equivalent to a sacrificial lamb to the Royal family's wants and needs, I would think they would take responsibility for her unhappiness and acting out. If Charles had been allowed to marry Camilla, then perhaps Diana would be alive today. On the other hand, we would not have William and Harry. And yet, look at how Harry still suffers.

She was used and disposed of. She didn't have enough time after her divorce to prove her value and character in her 30es. Taking her HRH was such a petty thing to do. They wanted to humiliate her any way possible, brake her spirit. If she had become a lonely alcoholic like Margaret or the Queen Mother that would have been their goal. She died and was never mentioned again. Don't forget to celebrate her life and her boys.
