  • In this video I show you how to reset the steering angle sensor to its zero point neutral point on a 2017 Honda Accord using an autel scanner. This should be done after a wheel alignment, clock spring replace or abs module replace. Please like the video if it’s useful and subscribe to my channel so I can do more videos like these. Thank you.

    Can I change the sensor then take it to a shop for a relearn or does it have to be done as soon as it’s installed?

    What model is that autel scanner? I was about to start fuckin with the abs module but I might try this. It got aligned in January , and about a month and a half ago all lights turned on Except abs light , but traction, tpms, traction, ldw and fcw are on. I wonder if this is what’s needed?

    I bought a 2017 Honda Accord that is missing the driver wheel airbag. I drove it for a block and I get this code DTC 27_13. Can I use this scanner to reset the Steering wheel angle? Or do I need a new Steering angle sensor?
    Thanks,

    My 2015 Honda Civic got a steering rack replacement due to a previous collision damage and it damaged the clock spring and steering angle. The electronic rack replacement was done and a few days ago I replaced the clock spring. Car works fine but as soon as I accelerate over 10 mph the traction control light starts blinking and the gas pedal starts to make a loud grinding noise and the car immediately stops. In order to use my car I have to turn off the traction control manually and it works like a charm. Front end alignment was done but the steering wheel seems to be slightly misaligned. Will recalibrating the steering angle sensor solve the issue?

    • @themodernmechanic428
      @themodernmechanic428  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you need to calibrate steering angle sensor. The lights and pedal vibrating is the abs system activating due to steering angle sensor not being calibrated

      I’ve done it on a Ford but not sure on honda. Most likely you have to use a j2534 pass through device with a laptop and a subscription to Honda oem software. You can contact autel tho and they will give you more accurate information.

Also the new cars with the lane keep assist systems need to be calibrated in order to stay in the lane correctly.
