- I have been asked by several people to do this video. Even though many of us (me included) enjoy fragrances that are "powerhouses", others are much more sensitive to loud & overpowering perfumes and are looking for something a little more gentle. Here is a list of what I have chosen to fit the bill. I would love to hear yours!

Another gentle beauty that i love from Pascal Morobito in the pearl range Pearl precieuse🌸 its gorgeous and soft Top notes are Rhubarb, Pear and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Rose, Tuberose and Water Lily; base notes are Musk and Vanilla youll love it. I also love Rituals cherry blossom 🌸and rice powder (its the only rice one I have) very soft. La Perla is good too. Office safe.

I remember when you de cluttered sweet pastry in Paris and I wanted it so badly !! I ended up getting a bottle given to me from Chantel Tiffany when I was over in the UK last year !! I adore it 🥰 and I reach for it ofton because it’s so soft and comforting

Thierry Mugler Over the Musk is the dainty of demure fragrances. It's un line any musk I've ever smelled. Thank you for sharing your picks!
Oh Zakia! Twist. The. Knife! I have been trying to get my hands on a bottle of Over The Musk forever!! There are zero bottles available here in the states. The only place it is currently sold is the Mugler boutique in Paris. That’s it. And they won’t ship to USA. So I finally gave up and bought Musc des Sables from Les Indemodables. It’s beautiful. 🥰Thsnk you do much for stopping by! 💕
Off the top of my head I would add milk musk by Molton brown. In a similar vein to LA Perla, and also cerruti image woman which is a gorgeous citrus leather. I wear that to the gym all the time.
Am waiting for My Elizabeth Arden White Tea in the mail. I was a bit agnosmic to it when I tried it at the mall but I need a new gentle fragrance in my collection and CZcams convinced me to give it another go. Am intrigued by Charriol's Imperial Saphir. I think you're the only reviewer who talks about Charriol fragrances - need to check the house out! Thanks for this feature, Chris!

Hi Chris, just recently came across your channel and I've been enjoying your videos. I agree that JM Sea Salt and Sage is wonderful, but I too wish it packed a bigger punch! I find the scent highly addictive and only wished it projected and lasted longer. I also love a few scents from Olfactive Studio, which are incredibly addictive, but again, quite weak. I simply adore Autoportrait, but I have to overspray a lot so that I can detect it. Same with Still Life in Rio and Lumiere Blanche- stunning scents, just a little quiet. Granted I don't think that every perfume should be beast mode, I do think that there are times scents should be a bit tamer and to enjoy just for yourself. Like with Autoportrait, I know no one is going to smell me...but I can and so does my partner, who loves it on me too! Thanks again for your content!

So looks like you saved me some regretful purchases. Two days after I filmed that video I bought a FB of Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It’s just like you say but perfect if I’m going to be in crowds or at work. I know I won’t offend anyone. Again thanks for finding me and leaving such lovely comments! TTYL. 😉💕
I have a category like this too! Anything that puts me in the mind of 5 star hotel bed linen...lazing around that first morning on holiday wrapped up in that astonishingly plush, sumptuous bedding....the smell of boutiques and the smell of particularly good fabric conditioners, well kept textiles or ironing water and years of strangers fragrances built up in walls of the hallways I'm sure. "Fabric Conditioner" is a dreadful category to verbalise but it really is that sort of thing. A ghost of a gourmand note or a flower or a fruit, who knows when the overall vibe is a very gentle fuzzy musk, soft warm vanillia warmth and well rounded florals or fruits where there's a gentle hum rather than once voice soaring or screeching over the choir to be noticed. I have trouble picking out notes in these sorts of fragrances, aside from the obvious suspects which is cheating in a way, haha. Clean, supportive, gentle beauties, you said it well. My own list is too long but I'm so glad I have found your video describing such fragrances because not many reviewers have their own idiosyncratic self-titled categories in their collection. I TOTALLY get it. I'm so glad you started a channel. My second tier in the category of clean fragrances (aside from hotel bed linen/fabric conditioner, ahaa) is 'shampoo blow dry'. That's the other type of fragrance where I really can't pick notes as they just remind me of freshly shampooed hair. Fragrances like 'Pivoine Suzhou' by Armani Prive, 'Jacinthe et Rose' by E Coudray, 'Hummingbird' by Zoologist and so on. There are many.
PS= Every time I open my suitcase upon returning home from a holiday I stuff a fistful of clothing under my nostrils and inhale because mysteriously they all smell like the foreign apartment or hotel room I stayed in. Ahhhh. JoLoves have a GREAT candle called 'The Beaumont' which smells divine and I highly recommend it to everybody.
What a wonderful comment you left. I’m guessing you are a writer….elegantly loquacious …..I can imagine those smells exactly by the way you describe them. And yes….freshly shampooed hair is great. Especially if someone uses Lush or Aveda…I’m so fond of those spa/ earthy /aroma chemical scents. ❤️
I’d love to see a miller Harris house review of you haven’t already done one - I’ve sampled a couple such as powdered veil and I think they fit this description pretty well. Love to know your impressions. ❤

I have a few quiet fragrances and unfortunately not the ones in your list🤩😍👌. Emozione is a beautiful fragrance that disappears within 2 hours of application on my skin😩😩. I also use various Sollinotes fragrances when I want something light😍😍. I also like Dirham Wadi but man I have to look for it after 2 hours🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I exercise at home so I mostly go for fresh, lemony/orangey or tea based fragrances, nothing heavy. Great content as always👌👌. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰.
Hi Pinkie! I bought Wadi a few months ago….sprayed on paper and it seemed really strong but didn’t give it a full wear. I need to do that. 🥰
I am addicted to La Mia Perla and think I need to get a backup or two because I believe it might be discontinued 😩. Some fragrance in the same category that I appreciate are Pierre Guillaume Le Musc & La Peau and Essential Parfums The Musc. There are lots of lovely soft Iris frags like Penhaligon’s Iris Prima and Houbigant Iris des Champs. I find Frederic Malle L’Eau d’Hiver to be a stunning and delicate scent that whispers on the skin. I find a Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline to be a really nice, soft fresh tea scent.

This is a great list. I’m a therapist/clinical social worker and try to wear the softer, calm fragrances at work. There is a place for fragrance in mental health but I try to select my perfume and other scents in the room wisely.

You may have heared of "Pride"), because you love citrus notes for the warmer seasons, right? Me too. "In here the citruses stay with the cypress the whole way through, they stick around pretty much into the drydown..." That review made me buy this perfume

I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of a company called ‘Jenny Glow’, they do brilliant dupes. I’m from Ireland, and they are everywhere over here. Anyway, I feel the same about Jo Malones perfume performance, and their interpretation of her scents are second to none! I have lime, basil and mandarin and Wood, sage and sea salt and they smell exactly the same with better longevity.. no weird drydowns or anything, plus they are super cheap!!! They also do Tom Ford and Chanel dupes. I’m not sure if you’re into dupes but I felt like mentioning them to you anyway. 😁

Ooh La Mia Perla has always piqued my interest when I hear people talk about it! It does sound right up my alley 🥰 And a couple of the ones you mentioned in this video were included in the package with samples you sent me and I am loving! When it comes to Wood Sage & Sea Salt there are no words for how much I love that one .. it is so close to my heart and the very first perfume that ever totally blew me away, there’s just something about it! I think it is the ambrette that just floats around me like a mesmerizing unbelievably gorgeous heavenly cloud ☁️ The first time I ever sampled it I was on the ferry and everyone was hustling around getting food from the cafeteria, etc and I felt like I had a secret that no one else knew and the world almost stopped. Like everyone else was living their hectic fast paced lives and my world became slow motion like a dream. Sound dramatic? I don’t care, fragrance affects me that way 🤷🏻♀️ what can I say. Lol So it was my first ever “expensive” purchase. Love love love it 🤍🤍🤍🤍

I want Lavandes Trianon. But I wish there were such a thing as a gentle fragrance that also had great longevity. I would love gentle ones more if they just lasted! I am like you with JM- I can't see paying a lot for a perfume that doesn't last. BTW, I bought a dupe for Wood Sage & Sea Salt because the dupe lasts a lot longer, and I don't feel guilty about dupes if I feel I am getting price-gouged and a perfume doesn't have longevity. I have the original JM version, too, and sometimes I spray the original on top of the dupe and it really lasts.
Wonderful! I think I’ll find a similar body cream. ThT always helps. Wood Sage I love it even so and has a nice role for me…work, crowds…and I finally bought a full bottle so I can wear it more. 😄💕

You’ve made me interested in quiet fragrances, I have to get a couple on this list! I think the only “quiet” perfume I have is No 7 English Laundry & you should definitely try it! I find it to be very comforting & soothing. It’s not too quiet, but you can get more or less projection depending on how you spray & it has moderate longevity.

@@ThePerfumeNest It definitely gives me a fresh laundry vibe, but not like fabric softener or detergent, & it has a gourmand quality to it. The top notes are apricot, pear, jasmine, & melon. The middle notes are almond, gardenia, & jasmine. The base notes are whipped cream, vanilla, sandal wood, & musk. It’s very creamy & soft. It has a fresh, fruity vibe, but the whipped cream & almond are the stars of the show. It makes me think of clean white linens that are hanging outside drying with a breeze lightly flowing through, & there’s bowl of honeydew melon sitting nearby. It’s very easy going & inoffensive, but I don’t find it to be basic.

Love wood sage and sea salt , I like it after bath before bed , clean and refreshing, The JM Myrrh and Tonka is strong , I first smelled it from a lady in a distant restaurant booth, I had to ask her the scent and bought next week

Ooh this is my kind of perfume. I have a lot of gentle ones, those are the ones that I reach for most I think. Mine are Jimmy Choo Illicit flower, Glossier you, all saints metal wave and weirdly, recently, I know a lot of people hate this one, but boss orange EDT... 🤷♀️

I'd add Dama Bianca by Casamorati Xerjoff. So darn good and soft. I just ordered a sample of the L'Artisan Parfum with the rice powder note (the name escapes me now). You featured it in another video I watched recently.

I’m one of those that prefer my scents discrete and understated. I just don’t like the idea of suffocating others with my perfume and bc I have a sensitive nose (i.e. I can detect very faint odors), I know it doesn’t take much for some. Especially when you’re trapped in a situation (movie theater, airplane, etc.) I’m adding the Montblanc to my cart!
To your list, I’d add L’Artisan ‘Safran Troublant’, Bvlgari ‘Petits et Mamans’, and Teo Cabanel ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ (which has a nice rice note)

Hello Chris and thank you for the shout-out!!!! The day when this video went up I was still in Barcelona, the same day I was at the Perfume Museum situated in the back of the Regia perfumery. It was a fabulous discovery because the museum is not advertised in any way. The Lady who helped me pick my fragrance was amazing and she spent one hour showing me all kinds of perfumes. In the end, I purchased Jasmine d'un riad Maroccain by Sandra Iruela (she is the creative nose). Then, she said, "would you like to visit our museum?".....Entering that place I almost fainted, luckily my daughter was with me and I went straight into a frenzy of joy looking at those BEAUTIFUL old bottles and old powerhouses...I have taken some pictures and I keep looking at them ....that museum was sensational!!! I loved your selection in this video, I also do not wear perfume in the gym but if I spray myself at home before going I guess people can still feel it by the time I am in the gym. Never had any complaints though....he he he.... You look lovely Chris, as always, and I totally enjoyed watching !

Great video! I love Zara A Mochi Atelier in Tokyo, too! Have you tried Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson? It's a lovely ginger, cardamom, and watermelon scent that I think you might like. It's aquatic but somehow powdery, too.
Also, as a rice note lover, have you tried L'Artisan La Chant de Camargue? I sampled it recently and really want a full bottle. Thank you!

You mentioned working in a hospital and I have wondered what you do in the past and guessed you worked in healthcare some how. That maybe sounds weird but I had nicu babies (one was in for a long time and very sick especially). And you remind me of some of the confident, matter of fact yet kind people I dealt with while sitting there for months with my baby.
What? That is such an incredible compliment and I can’t even tell you. 🙏🏻❤️ My own son was born 5 weeks early and was in the NICU and those nurses who cared for him were my literal heroes. One day I will reveal my alter ego but I do work in a field that requires me to be very calm and level headed and gentle. So thank you….I really appreciate it. Big hug. 🥰
@@ThePerfumeNest it shows for sure in your calm confident nature. Whether or not you go bedside I can see you have that manner. My son was 27 weeks and very sick and my girl was born with a rare complication because of some issues with my crappy carrying children body. I am still in touch with some of my sons nurses almost 11 years later.
@@kara8911 Aw! Yep! I’m “bedside” pretty much throughout the day. But when I get home it’s silliness, hiking/exercising , spirits to wind down. I’m anything but calm and serious when I’m not at work. Your poor babies!!! Poor you! That is so hard !!!! Both of mine born preemie Also…and went into early labor with BOTH at 32 weeks…..bed rest and all but my son just couldn’t stay in that turkey. I have a crappy baby carrying body also! 😂 🥰 I never thought my skinny little boy who was on a ventilator would grow up to be the huge and strong teenager he is today. 🙏🏻 miracles…..

You should try Poppy and Barley from J.M. I accidentally try it and I bought it right after I realized it has such a great longevity on me. I could not believe it! Most of my perfumes are winter-y cause nothing last on me! I have a really hard time with freshies...

Hmmmm….That’s a tough one. Clean Reserve “Skin” would be perfect but he might find it a little feminine. Chanel Blue and Bal d’Afrique are nice and fresh. I love when my colleagues wear it and we’re in a hospital.

I often wear gentle frags to work (or under-spray my bigger scents) and shower again right when I get home so I can wear more opulent fragrances in the evenings. 😀

Hi Ramona! I do not have many raspberry scents but the ones that come to mind are Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue Royale or Cacharel Yes I am. Both incredibly inexpensive.
