Beating an already battered West Coast side is great... but it doesn't change the fact that we're going to miss out on THE generational talent of this years draft pool. Harley or bust or this is a fake rebuild guys.

@@MaxKerstappen You don't want Harley. I bet if you ask most Hawks fans they'd say they want him. We're a good enough team to tank and improve I feel. Cuz if we get Harley, our midfield is finalised and then we just need to improve key forwards and backs. If the team ain't right, we're not gonna improve either way. Sam said we don't wanna sneak into finals, we want to compete for flags. Well if we look at it that way, this season we're not going anywhere so we may as well finish last, take the best player, go to free agency and grab a couple of players, finish our team and then go hard next season and see where we go.

Teams never should tank. You, as a supporter, deserve to watch your team win. About half the money they make, I'd argue, is from memberships and people buying tickets. If we tank, then we will lose memberships, lose money, and damn well could fold
@@MaxKerstappen And about half of that money we're paying to Clarko, Reeves, Tom Mitchell and Jaeger, who'll all be making no contributions to our football club ever again. It would be foolish of us to make this rebuild a half hearted one, as we've clearly seen fail in the past (2017-2021). I'm not saying we have to lose every single experienced player, but we have to be very strategic about this.
You've seen how teams like Collingwood and Sydney and even Melbourne in 2019 (the year they got high draft picks i.e. Jackson, Kossi Pickett, and heck they even got Trent Rivers at Pick 32 who'll likely be an All Australian one day and captain the footy club) - these teams finished very low on the ladder and that allowed them to get high quality young players who they built their teams around and now look how those teams have cannoned up the ladder over the last few years (without it being a fluke).
For us, it's a bit different because we have less experienced players on our roster. Therefore, the higher the draft pick and the best talent we can get, the better it is for us. The gap between Pick 1 and even Pick 2 or 3 in this draft is massive. This is an opportunity we have to grab, unless we wanna be wooden spooners every year for pick 1. Finishing 14-17th will only make this rebuild longer man. That's what will lose us fans.
