I love physical media. I have leather binders, that hold like 68 movies per book, filled with movies. ATM I am sitting on 1500 movies and another 50+ tv series. I didn't have enough space to keep everything in their original cases. Having physical media has saved me from being bored soo many times. If the internet goes down I can still watch something. There are a lot of movies and series that you can't find on streaming.

I have that release of The Puppetmasters. The artwork on the case is reversible. Also, Serenity is the follow-up movie to the show Firefly. I highly recommend the series. It's only 14 episodes and the movie.

'Daybreakers' is an awesome flick if you haven't seen it.
'Suicide Kings' is also very good.
'The Puppet Masters' is a pretty decent movie for being relatively unknown or not often talked about.
    'Jackie Brown' you'll definitely enjoy.
The Blade franchise is also enjoyable.
Some recommendations for pick-ups if you haven't seen them that I personally have enjoyed but not often reacted to on reaction channels:
    The Blob (1988)
    Pacific Heights (1990)
    The Score (2001)
    Rounders (1998)
    Breakdown (1997)
    The Relic (1997)
    Fear (1996)
    What Lies Beneath (2000)
    Double Jeopardy (1999)
    The Faculty (1998)
    Eye For An Eye (1996)

I also prefer to have physical properties. Sometimes it is difficult to find any screaming service providing the content that I am looking for

Those weird slips for those steel books are called J Slips I think but you can get steel book protectors that will protect your steelbooks with the slip nicely. Scarpad uses them.

Now here is how streaming service work for the most part. If its not something they made themselves like say for random example Killer Klowns from outer space. They have to pay the rights holder of that IP a fee to have that IP on their streaming service. Then they have to renew that contract with that IPs rights holder every now an again to. Keep it on that streaming service basically if the IP owner wants more money. The streaming service has to pay it or they lose the right to show it on. Their streaming service so thats why non streaming service IPS leave streaming services. Because they lose the rights to show those IPS. Then another streaming service will pay what the rights holder is asking then it appears on that streaming service.
Now when it comes to original content made by the streaming service for that streaming service. It may disappear for a few reasons one hardly anyone is watching it. So its just taking up storage space on a server that they could. Put something else on that storage space that more people actually watch. 2nd if its a TV show it gets canceled so they remove it to make room for a new show or movie.
Because people need to understand that just because its a digital streaming service. That the show or movie is still storaged somewhere its storaged on servers. That they have to pay for to keep these things on they have to pay X amount. Like for random example 100 dollars for 50 whatever server storage this is a month so if something is hardly getting watched. Its not worth keeping it on the server so they replace it. Then it they lose the right to show something they have to remove it.
This is if you think you bought a digital movie from a streaming service. You didn't buy it you are only paying a rental agreement with the streaming service. To watch it as long as they have permission to show it. Thats it if they lose permission to show it your rental agreement is terminated.
This is why if you like something enough to want to buy it an own it. You actually need to buy it on physical media then an only then do you actually own it.
Most of basically everything I watch is on physical media. Because its way superior to any streaming service on so many levels. 1 no internet needed to watch it. 2 it can't be altered in any way even TV version of movies are altered. 3 depending on the people that released it there may be bonus features that's hit an miss. Depending on the format put it this way I have Terrifier 2 on DVD it has barely any bonus features. I also have the collector's edition of Terrifier 2 on Blu-ray an it has more bonus features not just because its the Collector's edition. But Blu-rays tend to have more bonus features then DVDs.

First before you watch the movie Serenity you need to watch the TV series Firefly. Because here's the deal the TV show or series Firefly was canceled out of the blue. With no ending what so ever the fans an the people behind the show. Wanted to give the fans an the show a proper ending so after. Years of trying to bring it back someone said it will let you make a movie to end the Firefly show. That movie is Serenity so to fully understand who the characters are an what is going on you need. To watch the TV show Firefly so you fully understand the impact of the events in Serenity.
The same thing happened with another TV show I recommend called Dead Like Me. It's a dark comedy it has or had 3 sessions then boom out of nowhere got canceled. Then some time after they made the Dead Like Me movie to wrap it all up.
Now here's a good anime Tokyo Ghoul it has 4 parts. It goes Tokyo Ghoul then Tokyo Ghoul root A or something then Tokyo Ghoul re part 1 then Tokyo Ghoul re part 2. It's the same show but each one is a time jump. Its bloody and gory in ways that can only happen in a anime. In the audio commentary for some episodes they talked about the art of. Making the blood barf sound that is basically barfing up blood. Because alot of characters get ripped an tor apart an you name it an thats all I will say. Think non humans that look human stabbing the crap out of one another. Along with cutting of limes an fully recovering just to do go through it again later.
Then when it comes to Death Note there is some live action movies. An no I'm not talking about the Netflix use garage movie. Because it's only Death Note in name only they completely ignore the source material. They make Light an L into emotional and immature and idiots an toddlers in it. Then they completely ignore the real rules of the Death Note. I'm talking about Death Note 2006 an Death Note 2 The Last Name 2006 an L Change The World 2008 an if I remember correctly Death Note Light up the new world 2017. They stay true to the source material basically its a alternate version of events. From the anime the anime does this those movies do that instead. It's cool to see how it could of went differently.
Then there is Friday the 13th the television series. It has nothing to do with the movies its kinda like a anthology TV shows about cursed antiques.
Then there's the TV show or series The Strain 4 sessions. Think vampire plage basically.
Now for a explanation of how it works when it comes to DVD , Blu ray an 4k . Basically it comes down to money if something is popular enough to justify the money it goes up the ladder so to speak. Basically if there is interest it gets a DVD release if that sells alot or people are asking for a Blu ray it gets a Blu ray release. Then if it does well sales wise they will spend the money an do a 4k release. Now also it a movie is a huge hit an it makes alot of money in the movie theaters it will get all 3 a DVD and Blu ray an 4k release. Because they know people will buy it so that's the basics on how that all works.
That explains why somethings only come out on DVD. But that is even more complicated because some things may only get a DVD release in the United States like for example take these movies Reeker 2005 an No Man's Land The Rise of Reeker 2008. The first movie Reeker 2005 was supposed to get a world wide release. In movie theaters every where it got a full release in every single country except the United States. It was only shown on TV a few times but in the other countries it was shown in movie theaters an everything. It made enough in the other country's to found the 2nd movie easley the movie No Man's Land The Rise of Reeker 2008. That release stuff is important because if you want a region A or 1 version of those movies. That would be The United States an Canadia you are stuck with them on DVD only. Because they where only shown on TV a few times so hardly any one knows about those movies. But in the other countries that these movies got a full release in movie theaters. They have 4k versions of these movies but. In order to watch those versions here in region A or 1 you need a region free disc player even then good luck. Because there is no English option for those movies.
So that shows what an how something ends up on what format leser known or less popular ones. Get stuck on DVD for the most part the more popular an the demand goes up for it. Then it goes to Blu ray then repeat to get to 4k. Something can get Blu ray an 4k releases in other countries. Because it's more known an there for has a bigger demand for it. Compared to countries that is hardly known they get stuck with just a DVD if they even get that.
Then some things are only made to be released in certain regions. Like for example somethings are only region A or 1 locked unless you have a region free player. Then you still have to deal with the language issues. There is different regions that have things locked to that region only. So always see what region the movie or show is for if you can. Because if you get something that is region B or 2 locked you can't play it on a region A or 1 player.
