    Lets discuss the differences in packages available on the 2020 S1000RR.

    Watch, like, and subscribe to find out!
    (bonus points if you count how many times I say "M package")

    The M package is totally overkilled that's a fact. But goddamned that colour is so beautiful..

  • @jttcosmos

    Great overview. :) Race-package vs. M-package is basically just the colour, the carbon fibre wheels, and the M-seat. The lithium battery is included in both packages, as are the race-pro modes, and the slightly shifted geometry. Honestly like the red colour more, prefer a comfier seat, and found the carbon fibre wheels a bit overkill (mainly used on the road), so went for the “standard” version + the packages and some carbon bodywork.

      not if you live in the US. its there bc of a noise ban. the flat spot has to be tuned out post purchase...

    The slightly thicker front brake discs that are fitted to the M package bikes are fitted to my S1000RR sport.
    I can only find bike colour and carbon fibre wheels as a difference between mine and the M.
    The forged wheels that are on mine where are zero dollar option on the M package and I think I would've took that option for a Mbike used on the road anyway.
    Mine had 99miles on as ex demo and was 4k cheaper than a zero miles M which is what i was looking at in the shop.
    Now we know gentle running in his bad hard running then he's better for engine. I hope the 99 miles of test ride were not gentle and I'm sure they were not & the bike was unmarked in any way so im happy with it.
    6k rev limit until fist service (just done) =120-125mph but gets there quick so most dont notice you are running in apart from the constant speeding up and slowing down process.
    I can confirm 195-205 hp IS NOT TOO MUCH for the road.
    may be 500hp would be but then most of us would control that just fine also 👍🏍

    So I bought a 2022 BMW S1000RR from a privet seller and it’s supposed to be a M package.It’s got the three race pro modes and has the M seats,lithium battery and is in the right color.The only thing it didn’t have is the carbon wheels.And when I asked the owner why he said that’s how the dealer had the bike?Does that mean it’s not a M package?And how do I find out for sure,VIN number check ? Thanks

    Thank you sir, I was wondering whats the difference between all of the packages.
    Quick question, say you want the poormans version, I've seen one myself, has as little as no heated grips or even no cruise control, how can you upgrade?
    Is dynamic/select/ride mode pro ecu coding or a "slick" chip addon?

    • @supersportsanthony
      @supersportsanthony  Před 3 lety +1

      That's a good question. Often, trying to retrofit these things can be as expensive as the saving's. There are plenty of aftermarket options to suit your needs, though a factory retrofit will fit the bike best. The additional ride modes MAY be able to be retrofitted through programming, but I would consult your nearest Motorrad center and see what your options are before making your purchase.

    In the beginning on the base bike you mentioned several packages but I am confused as to if all those are on "the fully loaded"? I understand no carbon wheels etc but all the other stuff you mentioned for 20,6XX eight? Cruise heated grips quick shift dynamic pro etc etc premium modes? I think BMW does a poor job of differentiating which bike has what which really gets exasperating when shopping used as sales people tend to have no idea and it is like pulling hens teeth to find out....maddening! If they would just add suffix designaton to the model that could be made so easy IMHO. Not everyone is rabid RRphile to memorize all the differences many of us are shopping between several brands of the same genre NOT just fixated on a single brand

  • @dougiequick1
    @dougiequick1 Před rokem

    SUCKS you have to turn around and buy a usable seat for the M bike considering the average buyer is not going to be racing they just want the carbon wheels for a good price. Might be better to get the non M and buy aftermarket carbon wheels because even though it could not save a dime you WOULD end up with a brand new spare set of premium forged wheels which are not only worth a lot for resale but would be awesome to have exra set of wheels if you wanted to run two sets of tires ....one for sport touring and the other for track days or serious canyon riding etc ....uhhh but there are hiccups with that idea number one being the price which cheapest I saw on quich google is 3500ish so at least an extra grand to have extra set of wheels and then there is the total hassle of transferring rotors etc in wheel swaps and maybe sprocket depending on how that is mounted on rear....is it a seperate carbon carrier? Or do both wheels use the same cast/forged carrier? idk? BTW it appears the carbon M wheels purchased seperately might be 4 to 5 thousand bucks a set? Making the M bike a no brainer other than the pisser of having to immediately buy a seat you could actually live with every day

  • @xcg1234

    Basically it's not worth it, for me. I think 20K for regular RR is fine. 25k for M pack is kinda unnecessary. THanks for the vid btw, I'm in Brooklyn and waiting for 2021 to pick up the S1000XR

    • @supersportsanthony

    @jondoe5532 Před 3 lety

    The difference is £15,000 🤣🤣🤣.
    I've been looking at used standard s1000rr bikes that have the performance pack- which is the lightweight m alloy wheels and lithium battery priced at around £15700, then just spend £2000 on ohlins rear shock and front fork internals and another £1000 on brembo calipers and corsa corta master cylinder and then you have a better bike than either the m1000rr or the 1000rr m.

Am on lookout for bar risers but is not a massive issue. Is a f#ckin awesome bike to ride, is (relatively) comfy, awesome build quality (apart from some minor plastics - small detail) ,TFT really good, very quick, solid handling ( adjust preload for 100kilos 😯) Have the Hockenhiem Silver though I like the look of the black metallic storm. Msport really only worth it for track day bragging rights... only difference are the wheels, the paint job and the wooden plank seat!
