    Another amazing video, brother. I’d say for under $100, this is the planar to get. You put
    It perfectly, the Pandas give you a unique play back, warm and laid back with planar layering.

    Giant Panda still reigns supreme for me to this day. Love how I can keep raising the volume more and more and more and it keeps giving me moar until my brain starts to realize i'm gonna explode my skull. Try CP100 tips.

    I want a Hey Day so bad. From what I’ve heard, it sounds like a dynamic driver (no planar timbre) with all the benefits of planars (insane resolution, seperation, layering, ect.)

    • @jayyaudio

      Not quite DD like in the bass but ya very resolving

      I have Olina SE and Heyday. From the graph, the bass may look similar, but it doesn't feel the same. To me, i like the Olina SE's bass and timbre, but i like the rest of the Heyday including the fit.

    Crinacle: P1 Max is mid don't bother.
    Almost everyone else: Good planar.
    Pandas is like half the price of the Heyday right now.
    That's the P1 Max's biggest selling point IMO.
    Wonder how the Panda compares with the Xenns Tea 2? I got this instead of the Panda.

    • @jayyaudio
      @jayyaudio  Před rokem +2

      Very different. Tea 2 is neutral with deeper sub-bass (and better slam). Treble is less pronounced than Panda. Neutral vs warm. Vocals and staging is better than Panda - clarity is also better, but Panda is so comforting and the treble is airy with the warmness. So again, depends on your preference.

    Great video man. I always think grass is greener BS, I have the heyday and feel like it needs more bass. But at this point just eq would fix this problem

    • @jayyaudio
      @jayyaudio  Před rokem

      Ya HeyDay is plenty good already - some extra warmness can definetly help.

  • @giannisapostolopoulos9217

    I would like the Heyday as my first planar set but I'm wandering how does it compare to other (hyped) sets such as the P5 or the Orchestra Lite.. Nice video there Jay!

    • @jayyaudio
      @jayyaudio  Před rokem +3

      Haven't heard neither of those 2 hahaha, but according to others Hexa is similar to P5 (if not better) and I do like the HeyDay more than the Hexa. Hope that helps

    Whenever planars are reviewed, and there's no mention of 7Hz Timeless, I feel lost, since that is my reference point for planars. I'd love to try Pandas, but I'm not sure if they're worth it, if I already like Timeless (AE).
    When I test IEMs I go through the usual suspects in my library, but I always end it with "Blood Hunter" by Varien. This track is where IEMs go to die unless they are capable enough. They don't die literally, but they do go to the back of my drawer. A good example would be KZ x HBB PR2, which are kind of OK on most tracks, but they fall apart, acoustically speaking, at the sight of the "Blood Hunter".
    ... Honestly, I don't know why I still bother with KZs. I never go back to them, except to remind myself how much better my other IEMs are. I guess I just like collecting shiny baubles.

    • @jayyaudio
      @jayyaudio  Před rokem +1

      Both HeyDay and P1 Max are better than Timeless or S12 imo that's why it's not mentioned. HeyDay sounds the most natural, and the P1 Max is mid-centric with a warm undertone.

    • @NotAyFox
      @NotAyFox Před rokem

      @@jayyaudio Cool, thanks for the info. Now I'm tempted to order P1 Max and/or HeyDay. Timeless is far from perfect, but I listen to a lot of ambient, down tempo, psy-trance, like Carbon Based Lifeforms, so tight and strong sub-bass with good technicality is important for me. Generally I prefer Blessing 2 Dusk for mids, highs and wider stage, but I find them lacking in bass and sub-bass. I switch between Blessing and Timeless depending on what I'm listening to. I was very keen on upgrading to Variations, but with Blessing 3 Dusk on the horizon I think I'm going to wait a bit. This is an expensive sport and I'm not that rich. :D

    Nice review, but u said that the 15bucks quarks dsp has better clarity and is more correct sounding?. First of all its harman so its not more correct cause it is tuning for masses it is not even trying to be correct. P1max blows quarks out of the water in every technical aspect and tuning 😊. Perfect planar. Its low contrast in the tuning makes them perfect.

    • @jayyaudio
      @jayyaudio  Před rokem

      You're right, which is why I said "correct" with quotation marks since Harman is just used as a reference - of course everyone's preferences are different. I wouldn't say the P1 Max blows it out of the water, imaging wise it's better and the treble is airier, but clarity wise the Quarks' overall is cleaner and better separated and has better extended uppermids as evident from its graph here: timmyv.squig.link/?share=Tin_P1_Max,MD_Quarks_DSP
      The P1 Max is warm leaning with the extra mid-bass, which hurts its lower-mids/midrange clarity and instrument separation since it's not as open, and rather more forward vs the Quarks, giving less room for layering. But overall, the difference isn't that big anyways haha
