" if a carpenter pisses me off and wants a scraper I'll peel off the plastic and let him work with it" (the toilet putty knife) that was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Everything is a wrench and the tin snips are vise grips 😅... oh yeah put a wrench around the broken wrench to work it 😂. Real workin man no doubt. You the Man Steve 👊
Great video of your set up. All of those stickers reminds me of my brother and I collecting as kids. I wish I still had my book of them, eh. Threw all the good stuff out and kept the crap.
I once’s went to a welding shop and got me a new hitch welded to the center after after those laches kept popping out it really helped out putting in a new lock and carried the weight. Great video😊
great video Steve. your hunch about the latches is right. I have the same box, and after setting my top tray in the open lid a few times it sprung the hinge slightly. now the center latch pops open while lifting the box. hope yours works out better. the two latches like on the craftsman are the way to go. Thanks!
2 pairs of Douglas pliers was the first thing I was told to buy and I think they're the best for plumbing. I have the same razor knife in my side pocket always. I used to carry a big box like that but it's heavy and you always need to dig for stuff. I use a plastic tool caddy/tray with the basics and grab specialty tools when I go to the truck for supplies. Soldering stuff is in a seperate container, no need to carry that to do a sink/faucet, toilet, dish, disposal, shower valve rebuild, ect. None of those jobs needs pipe wrenches, hammer or all that other heavy crap.
BIG difference in the way your tools look and the tools of the brand new guys for sure! lol..you are without a doubt "a working man" :-) Their tools like like they came right off the shelf at Lowe's and yours look like somebody dug 'em up on some archaeological dig somewhere..tool artifacts lol. You can definitely tell you are earning your money Sir and as you say using your tools every day!
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Roberto Quinton I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
+steven lavimoniere thanks steve. how you liking this homak box? I was looking at the same exact one, is it tuff enough for the working man? I want something that'll last, I'm sure you don't buy garbage so I feel like an opinion on it from you is best. please let me know. thanks for sharing!
Keanan Temple it seems to be ok i had to reinforce the front hinges with screws to stop them from bending out on bottom but i had to do that on the black craftsman also .i hind that you can pinch your hand on this top handle ,because of side play never had that with the craftsman .nothing wrong with the 20 metal black craftsman if you can find one .but i like to add 2 sheet metal screws to front hinges to keep them in place if not in time they get loose on me and hinges pop open ,,i do not like the new plastic boxes to much wasted space in them i think .i like to keep down the foot print as much as posable
+steven lavimoniere I can't stand the plastic ones either. I have an old craftsman I love. probably will stick with ol trusty lol thanks again Steve. I appreciate what you do with all your posts.
Great vids Steve. Always a wealth of knowledge. What model # are the Douglas pump pliers??? Love the working dog(s) you include in your truck scenes !!!
I just got that same box 24” box that thing makes the ass end of my car sink when i put it in haha. Wish i could slim it down but being im riding along under a mechanic i try to be prepared for work use my own tools.
hey Steve i love toolbox but i think you need chalk in your toolbox to absorb moisture you will get less rust on your tools also put one on your kinteic water ram box work great on my toolbox
hey Steve I've been looking for a pair of douglas pliers but where I live (northern Michigan) no one carries them. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions on where I could get a pair??
steve if you want a good flux try and get hold of powerflow flux its a yellow tub made by fry its what we use in the uk and i cannot use any other now ive tried it
Steve, What are those 1/2" & 3/4" expanders you put in ball valves to solder wet pipe called? Been searching high & low and I can't seem to find the right search name. I've tried bread too and it doesn't work well at all.
+James Carter a small drip not designed to hold water pressure ,shut off water main for that.they also have compresson ball valves you can use i have 1/2 and 3/4 ones in my truck but these water stopers work well with a full port ball valve ,
6 months holy shit you're hard on tools and boxes. I wipe my tools every time after using them I have stuff thats 10-15 years old and no rust on it. Use them all the time. A wire wheel or soak in vinegar over night, wash off and oil immediately. Like new
To be honest with you Steve some of your tools look like they have seen better days. I am a service plumber and i have worked with other guys who have tools like yours and as you know men in are trade make good money so i dont get why they dont update there tools every so often. Also i could never have that many different tools in one box for a service tool box. what i use is a small kobalt hand tool bag that has like eight pockets for hand tools like the only plyers i would use channel locks and screw drivers and in the bottom i keep a bunch of medium size tools like pipe wrench and others like that but all total no more then twenty. But thats why i have six other tool boxes one for pex tools one sweating with torches and stuff and three other boxes with all my other tools. maybe i will make a video showing my Rig and how i have it set up. but to each his own right. so keep up the good fight and i look forward to more of your vids. Happy holidays.
Steve where is your packing iron? Come on dude what if you have to pack a PVC furrule into a bell and spigot cast iron fitting? All plumbers need a packing iron and ladle
+Harvey Smith i use my tools . there rusty because its a plumbing tool kit and gets wet all the time . i am not to concerned about a little rust as long as there still work i am fine .
" if a carpenter pisses me off and wants a scraper I'll peel off the plastic and let him work with it" (the toilet putty knife) that was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Definitely time for a new box. Looks like you got a lot of use out of the old box. Good tool video Steve.
Every plumbers tool box is the same. Full of crap that makes it twice as heavy. Love theses vids...
It's neat seeing all of the tools together. I've seen you use just about every tool in that box!
+Ryan Losinger i have many kits this one is my main plumbing kit
Everything is a wrench and the tin snips are vise grips 😅... oh yeah put a wrench around the broken wrench to work it 😂. Real workin man no doubt. You the Man Steve 👊
I love you car collection Steve I’m a retired auto mechanic I watch you all the time
