As much as I hate to say it, Mike is just too damn good to not have his own band. That’s not to say I wouldn’t have loved to see him stay in carcass! His and Bill’s chemistry is undeniable!

Surgical steel almost feels like a sequel to Necroticism and Heartwork as little sense as that makes

Makes perfect sense , the kept the aggressive riffs of necrotisism and the melody of heartwork . You can also hear Ben trying his best to blend his more technically proficient drumming style with Ken’s wonderful chaotic approach . It’s a proper combination of most of their best / most identifiable characteristics as Abba d

Looks like Jeff had the same experience with Craig Charles than I did with Mike Amott. Very rude. Fortunately Thomas Lindberg was at the same aftershow bar and was one of the nicest guys I've met ever. Six of one...

Shame to hear that Craig Charles is one of my heroes but I can totally imagine him being a dick to Jeff. Amott always looks like he's a bit up his own arse. I reckon meeting Jeff Ken or Bill would be a different story

agreed, its a good album, but the writing was on the wall that they were preferring a polished sound. couldnt stand Heartwork. boring thrash metal.

It was so funny watch Ken drumming, but it was just the perfect sound for the band. I'm not sure how those things come out, but they just put the pieces together correctly to make carcass what it is.

This is my fave carcass guitar tone so its wierd hearing them say its shit, l know people get pissed off about the tribute type bands but while they were away an l listened to The County Medical Examiners album Olidous Operattas it gave me goosebumps n they nailed that tone and ofcourse General Surgery then they both did a split together n l needed my carcass fix junkie style an these bands kept me going but all hail the gods are back an finally working on the follow up to the cracking comeback SURGICAL STEEL thank fuck haha

    Excised and anatomised, deviscerated disarray
    The torso diverged with pride
Deftly amputated, evulsed limbs now defunct
The trunk imbrued, tatty stumps used as lugs
For a chondrin puzzle so quaint
    Head and body decollate
    A heaving mass so quiescent...
