Idk about that. Alabama has some of the best recruiting in the country supposedly. Perhaps it's his inconsistency that is keeping bama from running up the score on everyone they play like they did a few years ago and prior to that... it's not like he's a ringer on a mediocre team... he's playing for the biggest modern dynasty in the NCAA and barely scraping by teams they used to bust up on a yearly basis. Even almost lost to Texas... and Texas defense isn't even that good on their own home turf. I think he's over rated. He's got skills, but he also goofs up more than he should.

Bryce continously bailed out Bill O'Brien's painfully uncreative, predictable, and vanilla offense game after game. Generally, the vast amount of explosive plays Bama had this year, was Bryce being put in a difficult situation but did his magic and extending the play until a receiver got open. Bryce is special... I just wish he had a great OC to play under at his time at Bama. You will be missed, Bryce! RTR

The best QB's in college football, generally wind up being busts in the NFL. Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and a few other all time greats all started off as back ups in the NFL. The Heisman award and being a top prospect in college is almost a curse. You get selected by a sh*t team, and have to endure a season or two of absolutely getting shat on before your team becomes relevant, IF they become relevant. Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Trevor Laurence... they're not having a good time right now. Young is likely to wind up in a similar situation.
Only Heisman QB winner to come close to a Superbowl early on in their career in the last 10 or so years, was Lamar. Mayfield got pretty close after 3 seasons... but that's about it.

Nico Collins has been coming into his own (though our terrible OC and QB play hasnât helped him much) and Iâm sure that we will be drafting a WR as well. We also finally will have cap space so ideally we could bring over some veteran talent to play with Young if we trade Cooks away. I would also imagine that we are getting a new coach this off-season, but at the very least we will be getting a new OC. Our oline isnât the worst but still needs work. Morale on the team is low and I think a breath of fresh air like Young would bring out the best in the players. We also have a million picks, including two firsts in the next few drafts, so there will be opportunities to give him the players he needs to succeed.
