Thankyou, for reviewing lower trim models for us. In today's world people just wat a reliable vehicle at an affordable price. Also, I am glad you show whether or not a vehicle has a spare tire. For many people that is important info. So again, thankyou.
The Hybrids DO NOT, but for someone like me who's 90% local driving, not a problem. Never used the spare tire in my last 2 Hyundai vehicles.
I live a boring gage cluster!!! None of the fancy stuff for us bargain hunters.
Fair and balanced review, as usual. Thanks.
Amazing review bro.
I am getting that exact same vehicle in same color, can't wait! Great review!
I own a 2023 LE and love it. You'll love the orange side mirror lane change warning lights. Highway 🛣 acceleration is fine.
Insane vehicle dude.
I just picked mine up yesterday , your review was spot on this is an upgrade for me I used to have a jeep compass . This vehicle is really good for a tall person it was hard for me to see over the hood may have to get a booster seat😅 and the steering wheel feels really lightweight I wish it had a heavier feel other than that I am loving it. I also love the fact that it comes with a spare tire that alone for me was worth it for me since a lot of the new cars don’t come with one. I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles.
Spare tire? I am guessing you didn't get the hybrid then.
No , did not .
Great review as usual Drew!
Thanks! 🙏
I would love to buy the Corolla Cross but it definitely hard to find here in the outer Charlotte NC area. If you do find one it probably close to 30k for a base model.
I had one for an insurance replacement vehicle for 3 weeks. A little slow and very touch adaptive cruise, but overall not a bad vehicle.
Toyota should really redesign the Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross hybrid to look more like the drop dead gorgeous JDM Crown Sport
I already have a RAV4 for the misses and I'm considering going with the Corolla Cross for myself. I've heard that CVT's are not the best transmission design and that you really need to stay up on the preventable maintenance for those things. Other than that I am thinking about getting one. Waiting on seeing who gets in office after November.
Can I add blind spot sensor to the L model ?
I love those boring gauges. Just give me a CD player and you've got a deal.
😂 I'm driving a 1999 Rav 4 and the service technicians look at my in dash CD player and ask me what it is !😂 25 yrs old and rusting out underneath.
I'm really gonna miss it! Never failed me and my dogs loved riding and sleepin in the back too!
These new small SUVS have terrible sight lines. BUT all good things come to an end😢
We love ours, just wish gas tank was bigger
I get 420 miles out of a tank, seems plenty big.
I like the outer look. Was that a VISOR EXTENDER ON VISOR? once is or down, you can pull out a bit further towards mirror?
Had a Buick riviera years ago with that feature and I wish more cars would put something like that in there because sun visors nowadays are really bad and not covering adequately for when you need them down some of these other ones they just have a little slide that pulls out towards the mirror a little more and it helps. Great $ for it, but I agree the basic gauges and interior are not that impressive even at that price point
I prefer the set up the Chevy has where the whole shade slides over.
Definitely not reliable... I just bought a certified pre-owned 2022 one with 15k miles, and as soon as I drove it off the lot, it start making a whining noise from the engine... I thought it was maybe the AC compressor, or some pulley that needs to be tightened, or a belt... So I tried to ignore it for a day... But it wouldnt go away... SO I drove it back to the dealership, and they said we will check it out... I waited 4 days, with no reply... So I drove to the dealership, and they told me the transmission needs to be replaced!! WTF?? I was shocked and freaked out.. They said don't worry, it will be like new as soon as we swap out the trans... I said no way... Give me my money back right now.. They cancelled everything and returned my money... this was last week. Anyways now looking at Lexus UX or Mercedes GLA... Thats my Corolla Cross story LOL... beware.
Would only consider as the hybrid for the additional power.
Lot of things to go wrong if you plan on keeping it long term.
Does the engine get intolerably noisy?
How much is the LE. 2wd with the moon roof. Basically exactly like the one you've Driving but 2 wd instead of 4 wd
He listed it: starts at $25,490
He cute❤
2/19/24 UPDATE: If I lease one this fall, it would probably be the XSE Hybrid in that Blue Crush color. Yes, it would cost me over $35,000 after adding upgraded stereo, convenience package, and taxes, but since the Residual Value should be very high (it's a Toyota hybrid), the lease payments should be lower than getting another Hyundai Kona (driving a 2022 Kona Limited now). But we'll see. Hope to be able to actually test drive one later this Spring. So far, two dealers in my area are telling me that all hybrids are sold before even being manufactured. How can you test drive one then? Hopefully, Toyota works it out. Even if Toyota finally offers online shopping -- they are talking about DTC (Direct to Consumer) sales like Tesla, you still need to test drive one. Final Thoughts for me: 1) If Toyota includes a heated steering wheel in Canada, why not the U.S. version? 2) Why can't Toyota engineer a way to also include a spare tire in their hybrid trims? 3) The Kona has more "bells and whistles" but Toyota has a better reputation than Hyundai and my budget may not allow me to even afford top trims, so I may even back off to a SE Hybrid or XLE non-hybrid. We'll see how the new car market plays out later this year.
If the Toyota dealerships don't wise up, they will lose customers. Won't pay over MSRP because it's a Toyota. For me, I may even get a Kona EV, as all the tax breaks when leasing may bring the top trim EV down to less than the ICE top-trim version! If only the EV offered AWD, but I don't have AWD now either.
Not a good finishing and still prefer my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited! But, got this 2024😢
Once again a great review Drew. Nice vehicle but the CVT is a deal breaker for me. Reminds me of the old Chrysler Fluid drive. Showed my age now LOL. Seriously IMO your reviews are the best.😎
The CVT is decent and slowt, but interior looks cheapish. Older Toyotas were reliable (2000-2015) but not nowadays.......
Appreciate that! 🙏
It's the direct shift with a launch gear, which reduces stress and wear on the belt. If you get the hybrid, it's an eCVT with two planetary gear sets, no belt.
I wish someone would go buy groceries or put anything int the cargo area to have an idea of the size.
I saw a video once for a Chevrolet Spark, and the reviewer did just that. But yes, I agree. Or maybe go to Lowes or Home Depot. for their home project.
I love an easy to turn steering. Please don't put any weight on it😅
Exactly. I hate a stiff wheel.
So close to a RAV4
They are basically the same vehicle, only thing that changes is the size
The 5th gen rav4 was too big for me, the cross is a perfect size.
@@atticstattic I agree 👍 I was all set to buy a RAV4 until I took it for a test drive. It's way too big and has features & functions that I'll never use. The Corolla Cross is more practical for me, in size, function, and budget 👍 They call it the "baby RAV4"

That's a perfect description 😊
I got a Toyota cross hybrid . And had ask hundreds of Toyota owner what the knob or button on the passenger front dash board. It sit just right behind the front wind screen. What is the purpose of it. Anyone can tell me. See video below. Appreciate if anyone know that do that round button do.

I always hated the term windscreen. Screen is on doors and windows to allow cool summer breezes in. The glass shields you from the wind. So, for me it is a windshield.
Video unavailable, but your description sounds like the ambient light sensor.
Hot darn it , is so freaking slow😮
The transmission on this isn’t something I want.
Why. I thought it was a conventional transmission. Or did he say it was a CVT?
@@scrambler69-xk3kv It's a CVT on the Cross.
Shame they built this car looking dated from the get-go.
Just what I am looking for. I hate those over the top curves and slanted bodies that rob interior space. Square is beautiful.
👍👍👍🤣
