This video misses the best bit. After he’s finished he explodes into a million shards of brilliant light and slowly fizzes out of view back into his own dimension, the dimension of FUNK............he takes his Korg with him as well.
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Grant Joseph thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Music technologist; If Cory wants to play the same runs on two keyboards he could just link them electronically and play with one hand. Cory; (proceeds to right hand ascending, left hand descending harmonically linked runs for a few seconds). Music technologist; ah....ok.
A lot of people out there that can learn and play this solo note for note… But none of these people would have played it off the cuff laying it out one bar at a time on the spot, in this order. And that’s where the “genius” that separates him from so many comes into play.
Cory's level of talent and musical technique simply goes without saying. But, I'm equally impressed that every time I see a live performance of Lingus, Michael, Bill and the rest of the band keep rock solid time on that riff and somehow manage not to just completely zone out whenever Cory does the crazy things he does.
2:17 ... I need to go to hospital for this broken-exploded heart to hear that progression . Not forgeting the unpredictable solo that he made on the spot. Cory always gives the best, salute
I read your comment early on, kept listening, and without keeping track of the time stamp, when that line came around I immediately knew, this must be 3:38! Totally angelic
Eric Clapton used to say that Stevie Ray Vaughn was like a faucet and the creativity just flowed like water and seemed to never stop when he made up different musical phrases every night. His musical creativity / genius is like breathing for him . . . ( Cory Henry )
Man we are so blessed to have access to this guys music....cory came with whole different approach....it's crazy to say this solo exceeded my expectations because i was expecting a 10 and got an 11
Lol @6:20 the brass section were so distracted they didn't even come back in, you can barely hear one guy blowing so unsure.... lmao you can see league looking back like wtf? Lmao...cory had them hypnotized!
Dear L'AWD! 😯Just insane, I think as much as I love Cory's original "Lingus" solo, this probably even tops that b/c it's completely live and in the moment. Yes, I suppose the original is recorded live as well, but since this isn't in the confines of a studio, imho, it has even more spontaneity! Simply brilliant and amazing! 😎
Wow! In this video Cory displays so much passion, joy, and phenomenal technique, that shows that he clearly was a child prodigy! He clearly always had this inner, musical "monster" just waiting to come out, to be unleashed on us. Picture Art Tatum or Oscar Peterson if they played sythesizer, Rhodes, or B3, if you can picture that, then you can picture Cory.- With a touch of the masterful Herbie Hancock tossed in to simply bring all the ingredients together. Musical Genuis, At It's Best! 😎
4:58 how is that even physically possible? 2 hands playing a scale in opposite directions...I mean yeah if you play Rachmaninov from a score, and studied it. But in an impro, simply amazing...
Michael Penson, how is that even physically possible you ask? That's easy, it's b/c Cory Henry is not of this earth! I didn't use to believe in extraterrestrial life....Until Now! 🙄
Is improv that much different from reading from a score?? You already know how to do it, you have the sound in your head, you just need to play it. The difficult part is doing it seamlessly, just like how it's difficult to sight read Rachmaninov first try.
If Aliens abducted Corey their spaceship would explode the minute he played d e c C G but after they released him in a pod that landed safely on Earth.
He can’t keep getting away with this
They should lock him up and throw away the keys
😂😂😂😂
Lol Jessie pinkman reference
💀💀💀💀
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s like a regular show episode

@Grant Joseph it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account!

Fifth Cory Henry Lingus solo in a row I've watched tonight... Think I'll keep going
This is the path.
A lot of people out there that can learn and play this solo note for note…

I also have a Korg Kronos and a King Korg. Now all I need is skill, talent, ability, and a whole bunch of other things to get to about 2% of Cory.
Jeremy Thornton Lol I feel you Jeremy right now I only wish to be half as good as Cory
Lol. I know the feeling. I’m glad we got to meet him via Snarky Puppy
My Dream is to see him live perform with Snarky Puppy
@@sinethembayantolo That's one of my dreams too!
True That Jeremy! Dude is otherworldly! 😎
Some say that a mad scientist sprinkled star dust on Cory's baby food when he was a little boy.

I'm deeply impressed by that too. Now, I wouldn't say I'm "equally impressed" because that is probably a pretty big overstatement...
I was just thinking about that bass riff and how tricky it sounds to keep time in
2:17 ... I need to go to hospital for this broken-exploded heart to hear that progression . Not forgeting the unpredictable solo that he made on the spot. Cory always gives the best, salute
2:11 heaven's melody
There's so much Energy in here it's absolutely insane.
Cory is truly a one of a kind genius
3:38 breaks my heart. So beautiful! Such an amazing Solo!!!

wow might be the best of all the solos I have heard! Just amazing. What a journey he takes us on.
3:39 - my mind is shaken
3:50-4:00 Quoting his own damn solo
Man we are so blessed to have access to this guys music....cory came with whole different approach....it's crazy to say this solo exceeded my expectations because i was expecting a 10 and got an 11

This is much craziwr than the original imo
Just when I thought he couldn't possibly make a better solo...

It's November 2020 and am right here watching my favorite Cory Henry get mad once again 😍😍😁🙌🙌🙌🙌🔥
Love Michael League's reaction to Cory's tension and release and chops...
Wow so when Cory Henry said the immortal lingus solo wasn't his best take, he really wasn't kidding. The guy's a maniac!
2:15 3:39
I always get sucked in!!! God, I love him/them.
Cory, the boldest and the best.

It's actually more natural for the hands to mirror each other's movements than to move to the same direction :) still no less admirable!
Amazing solo SUPER CORY !!!!
Being able to do such that solo is prolly every stage musician's dream
WHAT!!!! In the actual. Woah. Wow! 😍😍😍
Close Encounter of the 7th Kind. He is defintely communicating to other galaxies at this point.....smh
This commentsection.... made my day XD
Just Cory Henry doing Cory Henry things. NBD... 🔥
3:38 this part sounds like a song I've heard anyone got an id
He is quoting his other solo he played on lingus i think
He's a Monster!
🤔 his fingers and mind is not of this dimension 🤷🏾♂️
I want to see this in 20 years
Micheal League at the end of the song : WAIT WAIT Dont die yet ! the show isnt over
AWESOME
If Aliens abducted Corey their spaceship would explode the minute he played d e c C G but after they released him in a pod that landed safely on Earth.
I wish this one was professionally recorded too!
Cory is a wizard
This guy Cory Henry should be quarantined!
Wow!!!!!!!
Muito louco , muito bom !!!
Does this mean Cory still plays for snarky puppy?
Nah this is old.
His new shit is dope though, if you haven't checked it out.

Just wow

What date is this from?
3:39 is that the phrygian scale?
"Probably. Fuck it."--Cory Henry, groove prophet
It's the Phrygian dominant scale
@@MerlijnNash never heard of her. something more to practice sounds dope tho
It's phrygian genius, that's what it is!
Is Cory charging his phone with the Kronos? Haha
The Kronos uses sounds from his phone.Hahaha!
Still reading comments. Still emphasizing with the millions of other amazed you!
This comment went places I didn’t expect
@@NickGibbsmusic what you mean? 😃
Amazing solo... just wrote a solo over Lingus, i'd love if you could check it out!
E joo kilode cory so fe pa wa ni .
Anyone know who is drumming here?
This solo is far greater than the one that he did on the official video! Facts! And the original video was awesome
es un montón amigo
...
If the guitarist was paying attention could've fixed the drummer's cymbal :)
I believe Sput (the drummer in question) always has his cymbal like that, no clue as to why though
2022 and it’s still disgusting that he did this
There just arent enough keys on the planet for Cory.
Is that Michael League's wallet on the Moog?
and phone
savage
OM Fing G
Good job bro, JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON;PREPARE

Disgusting
Nothing special what i heard here
