When I moved to the U.S., though, back in '81, no one knew about Ultraseven, although the original Ultraman series did air here in the early '80s. It wouldn't be until 1992, when I ordered a bootleg VHS from an NYC company that specialized in Japanese sci-fi, that I would get to see the show again, bringing back all my early childhood memories. Fast-forward to the present, and now I have the complete series on blu-ray, not to mention most of the Showa Ultra shows. To me, though, Ultraseven will always be the best one by far.
How nostalgic. I missed the noire and sci-fi horror elements of Ultraseven. They added such an intriguing atmosphere that none of the other Ultra shows had.

One of the most classical Ultraman series, even though it was made several decades ago, the plot and special effects are also good. I think we may imagine ourselves as Ultraman in our childhood, fighting against the aggressors for the peace of the earth. This also coincides with Tsuburaya's consistent anti-war attitude, which is why there are a lot of deep ironic plots in Ultraman.

So, the Science Patrol car in the original series and in Ultraseven are unique in that the steering column is on the left side of the car, which means the studio sourced an American automobile and not something JDM.
