- Last week we successfully fit the body on the chassis but now we need to apply the brake booster and mount the steering column. This will be the first time the steering has ever been hooked up. Cross your fingers for us.... could this be the final test fit before paint?

Chad you should get a tilt steering shaft. You can get the same one but with tilt, that way it wouldn't have to stick out so far and it would give her so much more visibility.
Maybe a tilt/telescopic column, like an older Cadillac, or modern Subaru.
Most definitely, I had a tilt steering in my 1979 GMC and it help out a lot. I had to lift my wheelchair over the steering wheel moving it down made it easier to lift the chair over and sit it on the floor of the truck. I had to take both wheels off first. After taking it in and out many many time's it became just something I did. I had a few people complemented me how smooth I got out and pumped gas and got back in the truck. Faster than most able body people get there gas. In and out.
I have to say the steering wheel size makes a big difference to. Some are flat some stick feather out. That's why some people make a Kustom steering wheel to feel more comfortable having there hands on the wheel. Have both a tilt steering and a Kustom made steering wheel. With power steering power break. Jolenes car is going to have so much power in that light chassis and body she's going to need good breaks not to say she will be driving it fast. She might get comfortable on a straight away and put the petal to the metal and see what it can do.
They do make smaller steering wheel that look like the stock steering wheel for the Impalas. I've seen a steering wheel guy selling them at swap meets. They are very expensive although. I bought a original steering wheel to cut it smaller then rolled my own ring and welded it back up dipped it in raisent painted it. It looks like the oringal center but with a smaller ring. Make the ring first what size ring you prefer then cut the center so you'll have the right cut the first time. Once you cut the wheel you only get one chance at it.
@@Gas_n_Gears I have an old Cadilac tilt/telescopic column if you need it.
was thinking the same love it
Nathan is a man of exact talents that are needed at this stage.
You look at his bronco, and yeah, he knows his stuff.
Yep. Chad was a smart man for bringing both him and Doug on board to help get progress on the projects 😊 Seems Nathan knows a little bit of everything
Howdy Nate. It’s good to see you being a part of Jolene’s build. You’re a good compliment to Chad’s creativity. Good luck Jolene keeping those two in line.
Nate is a gigantic asset to the Hiltz family and I absolutely love that Chad understands that nate is better at certain things and Chad gives him the respect Nate deserves and Nate gives Chad the respect he deserves. I really hope Chad is paying attention to what Nate is teaching him 🙏 Jolene you are unbelievably gorgeous and you really need to stop worrying about how you look all the time because even a blind man can clearly see how unbelievably gorgeous you are. You are showing so many young girls that they can be the boss, running the show no matter what you look like. A true queen...
He is the family looks like he took over which is not bad seems to be the brains of the operation for sure
Nate is a necessity he is a true mechanic
Move steering wheel lower and closer to dash..Put in tilt steering wheel and adjustable seat then Jolene could adjust wheel and seat to her best driving position
Bad Chad did a remarkable job building this car. Just think back when he had to fabricate the motor mount so the steering rod could go through it. And redo the radiator mount, and redo the steering rack, and I could go on and on !! I think you get my point. It really is quite remarkable how it’s all coming together now !! Now is pretty much Nate time. And remember Chad is the first one to say he is no mechanic, but he certainly is a awesome fab man !!
I think the back of the seat needs to be raised looking at Jolene’s back and that way she will sit a little higher to see oversteering wheel and have back support , so Chad make a block for back seat legs to sit on
That's what I was thinking. Who wants to looking thru the steering wheel while driving.
The Bugatti is looking good. Jolene is loving it. Love having Nate helping out. Very knowledgeable person.
Chad & Co: Looks like a ton of work, and I'm sure you'll be proud of it when it's over. Thanks for sharing and getting good camera angles for us, Jolene. Amazed at how you can work with something so frustrating and keep the cuss words to a minimum. Having Queen Jolene there to make you behave must help a lot
Chad you are lucky to have Nate as in he also has a good head on his shoulders in thinking all the time with a care factor of no damaging anything, Chad you right it's tight alright a little to tight for liking , there's no wriggle room at all... Jolene you look good finally sitting in your present, it's been a long road and it's good to see it getting closer and closer you must be a happier now
Nate you are also got the knack of commentating, while Jolene films doing well mate!!!!
HI Chad, Jolene, & Nate, you guys are getting into the deep of it now! It will certainly be nice to be able to steer the car. You guys are lucky to have Nate working on it with you he is definitely very talented and obviously has experience when it comes to car building. Chad it is very exciting to see the Bugatti being worked on again. Those inner fenders are definitely going to be a tight fit like everything on the car. Jolene I love your choice of steering wheels however, with power steering you do not need that big of a wheel if you could get that same steering wheel in a much smaller wheel you would not have to look out the windshield through the wheel although maybe you are fine with it. Chad & you will definitely be able to win car show awards when the car is done. Excellent video as always and I am really excited for you with work on the Bugatti moving forward!
Tilt column. Tilt and closer to dash to not restrict visibility. A colapsable steering shaft for safety. What a car somtimes ya gotta redue something cause its gotta be right. A work of art and mechanics. Thanks much!!!
To all, I'm getting at this point. This takes me back to the times of putting the Highland Plating car 25 t roadster back together. Mind you I was just getting out of High School. That was 1960. I feel the same excitment now as I did then. Oh Friday is my 81st. I hope I get to see this car in person as all of you guys. I live in Rio Vista, CA. if you guys ever get to Northern Cal. Back to watching.
Your getting my attention . Can't wait to see Jolene driving her . Sure nice to have Nathan there putting both your heads together really helps !
Hello Nate.....you are a great addition to Chad and Jolene's videos. Nate's knowledge and not getting over excited is a great addition to Chad's creativity.
JOLEENE, I wanted to respond to your question about how long I’ve watched your guys show. I’ve watched almost every episode for the last two years. I watched on discovery and I needed more. I’m retired medically and I just love Chads imagination and excellent skills as a fabricator. I just can’t seem to watch enough. Chad could go teach at any university’s shop. I’d like to buy some apparel but I’m not sure how to? Maybe give me some info on how to? I’d love to support you’re Buisness. Thank you, you’re good friend from Utah Clint
Looks like you guys are on the right path. Remember safety first is no accident. We need to see more of Jolene in this car.
All the technical aspects of the build to get everything just right. Takes time and not the most fun but definitely gives the most appreciation of accomplishment when finished. This is exciting for us viewers to watch. ❤👍🏻👍🏻
Coming together nicely thanks
I love it when a plan comes together . it's been a long road to get to where you are now . I can't wait to see it done and going down the road . Awesome job Chad , Nathan & Jolene !
He said 10 years my lands
Looks like jolene might Ned a tilt steering column
Said this before welcome Nate so glad they found you
You are helping so much to moving things forward
Y'all are so lucky to have a Nate, that man kno's how to build the almost impossible 😊
Nathan and Doug have made such a difference to the team , love the chemistry, keep it up
Great progress, Nathan is the right man for the job.
Not many people can do that sort of work and be able to think outside the square.
I had mentioned on the video of when you guys were putting the body on and you guys figured out you had to modify the metal to go past the frame I said you're gonna have to cut the aluminum for the fire wall the same. I was hoping you saw my comment and would have cut it while you had the body off in the hoist
Always great seeing jolene on camera working with you guys and seeing the detail in putting something like this bugatti going together sure shows us why chad hasn't worked this straight through. Lots of patience for this one but it'll look so awesome when it's finished
I am thoroughly enjoying watching this car come together. Love the engineering, The absolute dedication to getting it right. and it's getting better as it comes along.
Keep on getting it done Chad. It will be ready for paint in no time now.
This is a good day..now you can make a list of needs an assembly procedure and items to order..fun for all. Any car looks better with Jolene behind the wheel!
Been a long time coming. Good luck with this build. It is going to be fantastic
Nathan is a mechanical wiz ! Great addition to team Hiltz ! This Bugatti build has been moving foward quite nicely ! Thumbs-up Jolene ❤ your new old build almost done ! Can you hear it in your sleep Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti Bugatti yeah Bugatti build is done lol 😊
Nice to see you working on the Bugatti. That’s the stuff I tune in for. Something from nothing 👍
Nates a great add, he reminds me of myself when I was his age. Chads learning a lot from him and that just makes him better.
Good job as always Jolene relax 😎
Hey Fina❣️
Great job. Great video
Love seeing Nathan in the shop .,definitely looks like a top fella and knows his stuff…can’t wait to see this car done ..going to look bloody brilliant
Great seeing more progress on the Bugatti. Queen Jolene looked very comfortable sitting in her car.
Just recently discovered Bad Chad. I spend hours every day watching. I wonder how Chad can keep cool and not swearing sometimes. This is a great show
my my, looking good and so happy to see things moving along with the Bugatti...I've been watcching this build since it's inception...now remember to put the tools back in that Stanley toolbox Chad, try to keep at least one set of intact🤣🤣🤣
The car fits Jolene very well. I am waiting for the paint job & completion of the trim work. I know Jolene will be happy.
Love this build!
The wheel looks a little funny sticking up so high I’m a little shocked Nate hasn’t noticed that maybe a smaller wheel
It really does look funny...Model T/sport car hybrid look. The seat in a fixed position is not helpful. Even an Army jeep has an adjustable seat.
The top of the steering wheel looks to be right on the driver's eye line. Maybe lowering the steering column a couple of inches would make the car better for driving.
Just want to say hello to all of you and I can't wait to see Jolene behind the wheel driving it down the road. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
You should make an edited summary video of the complete history and build process of the Bugatti
WOW!!!! Thing’s are moveing forward every day, looking good you guy’s,,hi to Jolene an fina too,,luv ya’s,👍👍😀
It’s said Ettore had many difficulties with his first vehicle. This show is so awesome because it’s so unfiltered and real.
I know you won't be putting the body on for awhile but when you do reinstall it try a couple plum bobs to line up your body mounts when rolling the frame underneath the body that way you will know where to set the lift so its not in the way
Progress is a great thing. Looks totally awesome.
Thanks for helping Nathan
Yea omg I can’t wait any longer been a long time coming thank you Nate you seem to be very intelligent and helpful and getting Mr hiltz a going sweet to see it’s going to roll down the road
Bugatti is coming together thank God for Nathan helping put this thing back together correctly
Its getting exciting now.
Always nice when Bugatti work is getting done
Very impressive!!!! You have good help, that’s hard to find nowadays!!!
Chad you've been kicking ass lately.
Keep up the good work brother
Nice to see it coming together...I'm anxious to see the completed interior
Pure genius! What a fun show!!
looking great
You should cover your aluminum firewall plates with crashwrap until final installation so you dont damage them
I'm so happy for Jolene car is finally getting close
Super excited to see this car when its done. been following this car from the start!
Loving the detail Chad, and Jolene, your camera work is flawless, love it all, Joe
It sure is nice to see the Bugger moving forward. Be well.
Great progress
You can see the smile on her pretty face, she is happy to be going forward on her car good for you Chad I love honest happiness
@25:40 lol best part ever... keep up that cardio Chad !!!
Excellent Start Chad and Jolene and Nate on this Bugatti
I think the Bugatti was what caught my attention when I first started watching. Darn nice car. Truly Hans made by old school craftsmanship! Amazing to watch. Thanks as always!
its gonna be a long process to put it back together Chad needs someone like Nathan
Looking good keep up great work
This is the most beautifull creation you have ever made . Jolene fully deserves it.
Will the hood clear the master cylinder?
Looking great Chad needs to maybe take a Valium before y’all start messing with it but really looking good and really enjoying seeing it finally coming together. Nate is the man and you two really work together well.
Watch out! Nathan's taking over! Nathan seems to be a great value to the new Bad Chad gang on his channel. I hope Joline's car gets finnished by December or next year.
Love this car
Looking good , just wondering what color the car will be
Might need to dedicate a couple of clear toast for parts organizing. Nice to see the girl getting some love
Hi Chad and Jolene from Trois-Rivieres Quebec
Coming along beautifully. Definitely tilt the steering wheel a little bit. Can't wait to see this amazing project in paint!
That was a very entertaining episode...thanks for doing what you do. Cheers.
Hi Chad and Jolene and crew, Great work, Viewing from NewZealand
For height you could use 2001 Vw golf seat mounts they raise higher and lower. Same with 2005 Mini cooper S . Easiest solution for Jolene imo cheers ✌
Easy to fabricate a U shaped piece to fit under the steering column at the dash where the hole is. That piece could be used to raise or lower the height of the column...
Maaaaàan.I can't wait to see that work of art in paint.
That car is going to be so bad azz !! Sick ❤❤
Excellent video car is looking lovely
Chad, don't forget "if this work would be easy everyone would be doing it". Keep on rocking with Nathen and all will be good.
Nate is a big help Chad And Jolene
Chad's a smooth smoothie with an angle grinder.. no denying that!
Wondering if the hood is going to fit over master cylinder
The car is coming along nicely 👍👍
Glad to see the Bugatti coming together
It's a good thing you have good help,The Video looks like the column needs to go forward a few inches.
Nice to see the bugatti still getting some time spent on it Chad and jolene it's good that you have Nathan there to help you out and to give you other ideas. Jolene your camera work is excellent as usual. Keep up the great work all of you 👍 👏
I love to see Jolene in your video's!
Valuable man that Nathan
He is the show now might get his own channel or take over this one
I think it is great that they change up the project cars. Keeps things interesting!
Very nice!!!!!
Hi Chad+Jolene from KL - MALAYSIA.🇲🇾
Looking good Chad and Jolene, I wondering if you was planning to use a hood? If so looks like you have to get the smaller power brake set up on the fire wall?
I am sure Jolene will fit perfectly..."Fit tight and right, if you know what I'm saying"😉
